@@IIESPD00DII It's underrated compared to any other group's album, but comparing anything to Check Your Head or Paul's Boutique is a recipe for disappointment.
A lot of people will say Licensed to Ill or Paul's Boutique is their Best Record, but To The 5 Boroughs has to be up there with those albums, the whole thing is fantastic. Just listen to the beat in this song, it's sick as he11
Man frfr!! We used to drive around and listen to this on repeat, non-stop, after it came out and for years after. It's such an epic album start to finish, just flows so smoothly. You can be riding like a scrub and still feel like a gangster lol such a vibe
Hip-Hop is one genre where African Americans, Latinos, whites, some Asians and people of other background could come together and do some creative storytelling.
How many times folks gotta say we gotta work together, cant we all all just get along, before it is understood not as civilization but survival. I could go on and on but......

Only the Beastie Boys would be wicked smart to sample The Partridge Family's "I Would Have Loved You Anyway" (1971) for this excellent track; cheers to them!!!
I had Paul's Boutique, License to ill, and Ill communication on vinyl and yeah... 5 burroughs is the bomb. They were masters of their craft at the time MCA was all buddhist and shit. When he grew up, he switched it up and became a hell of a lyricist. It's nice to see someone who was always super fuckin talented to be like "Im gonna try to use my ability to fix the world". He figured out that people listened to his words Punk rock and hip-hop both started with that philosophy in mind. Beasties are a fuck of a lot of both. Not everyone knows they were the first hiphop artist to sign with a major label. I'd say that was deserved. But they're punk, too. The early days were about having fun and everyone likes having fun. Every song on Boroughs is really fuckin'- good. This is my favorite song of theirs because of MCA's verses
MCA's greatest verses. RIP sir. You were a gift to humanity in so many ways
One of their most underrated songs and videos. I don’t think kids today realize how groundbreaking some of this photography was back in ‘04.
omg shut up
So the OFFICIAL CHANNEL...
Muted out the words "Fuck the KKK" and the Bird Flip from a Funky Ass Jew?
Shaaaaame on you.
The whole album is underrated

My race is the 50 yard dash.
