There are not enough words to describe Glen Campbell's talents. Thanks to Jesus, I'll get to hear Glen for all of eternity with Jimmy writing the songs .
My favorite, as well. Wichita Lineman comes in 2nd. Amazing man with an amazing talent. I sure miss him. Makes you look forward to going to Heaven one day.
One of the most beautiful songs in the world and one of the most beautiful voices in the world. Just read a news article about Suzy Horton Ronstadt, the woman who was the inspiration of many of the songs Jimmy Webb wrote. Interesting. AND, a question for people with musical talent...it may just be that I can't sing, but is this melody really difficult to sing, and why?
it's difficult for me to sing to and my voice is fashioned after his. you must have experienced the precise feeling in order to perform it in the precise manner if your voice matches. that's the only answer I can afford you
Live means 'performed live' versus just listening to the album studio cut of the song. When you buy a "Live Album" do you think the performer is going to be standing in your living room too? :D
Rare for Glen actually, he typically sounded even better live than the studio track. He certainly didn't need to but guessing there was a technical reason (ie, his band unavailable, etc) that they chose to go this route for this performance.
Glen, if you’re still within the sound of my voice, you are greatly missed.
No one ever can, or ever will, sing this most beautiful song as Glen sings it. His ability to put such feeling into any song he sings is incomparable.
Totally...there is no one like Glen.....beautiful song!!! Love this man!!!!
I agree wholeheartedly. Simply one of the most beautiful songs ever!

My very favorite Glen Campbell song. The words have a very special meaning to me.
Judie Richardson they do for me too.
Me, as well.

Judie Richardson yes, me too.
“What a very powerful song it is”.
“I sure do miss my idol.”
Great vocals on this classic Jimmy Webb tune, possibly his and Glen's best
Heartbreaking lyrics + Melancholy Melody + Peerless Vocals = Staggering piece of music.
The beauty of Glen's voice is everlasting. Rest his musical soul.
So beautiful. God bless you, Glen, if you're within the sound of my voice. Praying for you.
this had been stuck in my head all day
I love this wonderful man. The film clip is old but no mistaking his voice. I'll miss him forever!❤.
Glen Campbell + Jimmy Webb = Perfection!
This song sounds so fresh after all those years!
Bittersweet song. Makes me sad hearing it after all these years.
One of my absolute favorites!
Thank You!
Beautiful song.

there were no live vocals on the tv show Solid Gold, no not one
Anyone know what year this was?
Solid Gold 1987
Well, not exactly a 'live' performance, but good to see it anyway. A great song.

Great job but I love Linda Rondstadt's version. Just my opinion.
This version slays me. Linda has a handful, including Easy For You To Say, where she takes Jimmy Webb even higher, but this is unbelievably good.
Lip-synced
