    The problem is Jerry. His ego won’t even allow him to entertain letting a guy like Belichick have some of the control and coach the way he needs to, even if it meant multiple Super Bowl titles again. All Jerry would see is that he relinquished some degree of control and power over his most prized possession and he fundamentally can’t deal with that.

    McCarthy and Garrett both repeatedly showed absolute incompetence with clock management and situational decision making . Just mind blowing incompetence in those areas . When you see a coach so deficient in those areas you should immediately replace him , because winning a Super Bowl means beating at least three, usually four , excellent teams in the post season . It makes that task incredibly less likely if the coach can’t manage clock. That will inevitably prove to be the fatal flaw. People keep saying “he’s a good coach “ and ignore the clock management issues . It is like saying “Ralph is a good pilot, but he just has difficulty landing a plane in bad weather. Otherwise he’s got a good pilot record”. To be good at something you can not have glaring, crucial fatal flaws. McCarthy has glaring , crucial fatal flaws . He’s therefore not a good coach. He’s a coach who can stand on the sideline and witness his team beat much lesser teams, like Ralph flying a plane in perfect weather . But when teams get good McCarthy has no answer. His record , as a Cowboys coach, against good teams is just miserable. But hey, McCarthy supporters keep pointing out the three 12 win seasons, ignoring 1) that is easier now that seasons are 17 games 2) the NFC East has been just awful and basically you get 5 or 6 gimmees from being in the NFC East 3) his record against teams that made the playoffs is dismal

    Prescott had his best year as a QB and the team went 12-5 to win the division. Both he and McCarthy are in the final year of their contracts and Dak has a no trade, no franchise stipulation in his. This was the only move the Cowboys could make. It's pointless to bring in a new coach and start a new system in Dak's final year. What the Cowboys need is a running back and run stopping linebackers.

    • @roland7584
      @roland7584 5 месяцев назад

      Dak definitely deserve s some blame as well, but that was a complete no-show by an entire team on both sides of the ball. That's all on coaching, and if Jerry was waiting for the playoffs to be finished to see if he would make any changes, how in the world can that one playoff game make him stay the course with this coaching staff and how can the head coach survive? Look back at Marty Schottenheimer in Cleveland. His teams were prepared, but they just seemed to have a curse. The Cowboys aren't cursed in the playoffs under McCarthy, they are simply unprepared year in and year out. He inherited his Packers ring, but has not done much since. He may be a good coach, but it will take a perfect season and a bunch of miracles for him to get this team over the top and that never happens in the NFL. The only way to move forward from this debacle is to fire McCarthy, and if the players felt it wasn't his fault, then maybe that would be the way to light the fire under guys like Dak to take some responsibility so they don't get the next one fired as well.
