  • I think Toyota better ask their lawyers if they could be liable for the thousands of stolen cars that could have been protected from theft had they told the owners. Smart Keys for Toyota / Lexus models 2016-2024 can be set to "go to sleep" to save the remote's battery says your Toyota Owner's Manual. What Toyota fails to mention is this is a highly effective way of STOPPING RELAY ATTACKS - since when the key is battery-saver mode it can't send out any type of "radio waves" to the car - Problem solved - Relay Attacks exclusively use radio waves from your key to unlock your car - Astonishing - Doesn't Toyota have a legal obligation to tell all Lexus / Toyota owner's of this feature instead of telling them to get a Faraday bag?

Why is this type of remote better than the old-school clickers? Maybe I don't WANT a system that automatically unlocks when I am close to the car.

Honestly - if there were a lot more people like you there wouldn't be an auto theft crisis. The car companies "say customers asked for it" - BS - they knew before they put it in a car there were going to be relay attacks - old style non passive remotes with keys offer much better security

Try holding lock and unlock for about 8 seconds and see if it kills it - I'm looking into now - if you could help I'd appreciate it - also try other button combos - let me know what you find - Cheers!@@StephaneDurand

@@carquestions I tried it the lock and unlock simultaneously and nothing happened. Also I tried the lock first and after the unlocked then (then holding them both) the left light start flashing then stopped after 8 sec but when I put my hand on the handle a the door unlocked 😞

Do EXACTLY THIS - hold down LOCK button (while still holding down the lock button) with your other finger push the unlock button once then again (twice) - then release all buttons - should work - what year and model is your Toyota?@@StephaneDurand
