I always liked having less - and was always trying to give things away. However I learnt the name for it in 2014 and since then it’s been so liberating! I adore clothing and I still very much enjoy that (and I love colour too!) but getting dressed is a joy! Lovely video, have subscribed ❤
@@SJLacey937 Welcome!! I know what you mean. You can be a minimalist but still enjoy being stylish and appreciate everything that you love in life. You just see and value them at a different level! :)
A few years ago I had a job in a retail store that sold so many different types of items from around the world, including international foods, beer and wine! I was a cashier but I decided to change positions to get away from people and worked the delivery trucks. That was a real eye opener regarding all the trash the our global community generates. Plastic items would be double wrapped in plastics! When stocking shelves I would sometimes glance at the ingredients lists. Those experiences were enough to turn me off from over consuming. Eventually, I just became very intentional about what I bring into the home. Most of the companies that I now support have to be fair trade, ecocentric and sustainable. I really take my time and research businesses when I need to purchase something. A lot of times we support our own oppression because so many companies do not have the best interests in mind of the people that buy from them.
Totally agreed. I worked at a company that develops beauty products for large brands. I saw how things are operated and how companies push consumerism to the market. It's part of the reason why I stopped focusing on beauty content..
What intrigued you to explore minimalism?

I worked in a retail store.and lots of unnecessary things were sold in the store.for me,it will be a dust collector.
I totally get it. I worked in a beauty company before and it opened my eyes to how wasteful the industry is..
