    We've been to that Nintendo store at the mall too! I was surprised cause I didn't recall an official Nintendo store in Seoul, but it's an amazing place for games. Studio Ghibli & Gunpla stores too.

    I really enjoy you guys doing travel videos and exploring gaming culture in other countries: I know people complain about gaming going mainstream, but it's nice to know that the culture has expanded this much 🤩

      But Seoul in South Korea is far away from Texas, USA. That’s gonna take 3 or more days to get there.

    Video Game Alley is literally right next to Yongsan Station and the I Park Mall where the Nintendo store is. It's not too hard to find. Also you can haggle prices or have an R4 card installed onto your 3ds for a great price.
    They have some great stuff there. Glad you find everything and I hope you had a fun trip.

    Glad your South Korea trip went well. After making South Korean friends over the years-I am looking forward to visiting some day.
    Ive only seen their cafés and their Esports representation over the years. It is fun to see the console gaming side of their gaming culture too.

    A word of warning for those who look for games when here in Korea, especially for the Switch. First party games often have English, but you're gambling more with other publishers because the Korean version of many games is the Korea/China version so there may not be English on the cartridge. It's important to check before you buy! The Switch is region-free so your cartridge will play but it may not have the same languages available in other regions.
    If you're looking at PlayStation games, it's a similar story but it may have English audio but Korean/Chinese subtitles/text. DLC for PS almost always is region-locked from my experience.

      @@cassiodvieira in 2000s when some video game magazines became thicker (200+ pages) I was so happy, because it was my only window into video games and I reread tham so many times. If only I had magazines as thick as Korean Gamer'z... But it should be pricey...

    • @highwind81
      @highwind81 2 месяца назад +1

      The reason for thick magazines is the lot of games weren't localized in Korea back in the days. So lot of these magazines had translations printed out for readers to use for their games.

      Oof, fair criticism though. I imagine family vacations are fine to spend money on. But the trip to Japan was going to be content focused. I'm guesssing the channel money is enough to get by but not enough to travel just for fun.
