What a lovely video! Guatemala is just a beautiful country. Tikal, Antigua, Atitlan, Chichicastenango, Río Dulce, the amazing volcanoes, the great people... I visited some fifteen years ago and I have never forgotten. They also cautioned us then to be very careful in Guatemala City, and I suppose you just have to be, but we didn't have any unpleasant experience. Far from it. Have a great time!

The National Palace now a museum is open in the back of the building, I went this year in 2019 in April and they gave us a tour of the inside, was beautiful!!! First time we visited the Palace

Hi Chapinrus - Most if not all cities in the world have crime problems so it's no different in Guatemala City. We had a great time and didn't feel in any danger at all. We always listen to advice of locals and were advised not to walk around at night so we didn't - Thanks for the comment . - Chris & Marianne 😎👍

Some facts that you need to know about Guate City. 2 years ago it was named the Iberoamerican Culture capital. This year it was named the greenest latinamerican capital. Places to visit in Guatecity. Ciudad Cayala, Oakland mall, Aurora Zoo it is one of the largest in Latin America, Petapa thematic Park, Zona Viva, 4 grados Norte, mayan ruins called Kaminal Juyu, sexta avenida, Concerts at National Theatre which was once a military fort. Stroll at Avenida Las Americas and Reforma. There is much more, but Ill stop right here

The lighting is so good in the central market. Normalizing your time in Guatamala City by sharing your travel tips is kind. I've heard it said before that each country you visit warns you about safety in the next one; I notice you repeated that in one of your earlier videos. That dress for your granddaughter is precious, I could tell you really wanted to purchase something during the first visit to the central market.

Please feel free to share our videos of Guatemala to promote your country 😍🙌👍 We spent 5 months in Central America and had absolutely no problems and no discrimination at all, I (Marianne) have been learning Spanish and everyone was super helpful, and we all laughed together, and I managed with basic Spanish and manners to sort out accommodation, transport and restaurants. Maybe it is a communication issue ? But we certainly had a fantastic time 🤗😘💜😉 Kind regards Marianne and Chris xx

@@TREADtheglobe hello, I really enjoy your channel keep it up! And yes you're quite welcome I'm here to help. Ohh tamales are quite delicious they are a labor intensive dish. It is composed of corn flour, red sauce which is called recado it is kind of like mole and the protein can either be chicken, pork or Turkey. The tamales are wrapped on a banana leaf and its boiled for around 2 hours. Thank you for replying to my message and I hope my explanation it's clear enough. The lighting is so good in the central market. Normalizing your time in Guatamala City by sharing your travel tips is kind. I've heard it said before that each country you visit warns you about safety in the next one; I notice you repeated that in one of your earlier videos. That dress for your granddaughter is precious, I could tell you really wanted to purchase something during the first visit to the central market.
And the lovely thing is she loved the dress and tried to wear it everyday in the summer !! LOL xx 😉👏🤗💜

Hi Carlos - Thank you for your comment ..... I am really confused about this comment .... we had a brilliant time and had no negative experience. Please feel free to share our videos of Guatemala to promote your country 😍🙌👍 We spent 5 months in Central America and had absolutely no problems and no discrimination at all, I (Marianne) have been learning Spanish and everyone was super helpful, and we all laughed together, and I managed with basic Spanish and manners to sort out accommodation, transport and restaurants. Maybe it is a communication issue ? But we certainly had a fantastic time 🤗😘💜😉 Kind regards Marianne and Chris xx

@@TREADtheglobe hello, I really enjoy your channel keep it up! And yes you're quite welcome I'm here to help. Ohh tamales are quite delicious they are a labor intensive dish. It is composed of corn flour, red sauce which is called recado it is kind of like mole and the protein can either be chicken, pork or Turkey. The tamales are wrapped on a banana leaf and its boiled for around 2 hours. Thank you for replying to my message and I hope my explanation it's clear enough. Hi Andrew - we did indeed - we have a newsletter you can sign up to on our webpage to have up to date weekly info on our whereabouts. There was actually nearly 3 weeks between filming in El Salvador and arriving in Guatemala. So we are back on the road and the emergency is now contained 😍🤗👍 kind regards Marianne and Chris xx
