People need to do this more often, these kinds of videos are so fun to watch as a pokemon tcg collector and an armature tcg player. Please make this a series!!!!
go watch uncommon energy's evolution series, where they each get half a booster box of a set to battle with. Then, in the next ep. they get half a box of the next set to improve their deck.
Yes this was what I also taught they are not explaining at least which effect is happening at the time. I saw a lot of these build a deck videos and players carefully explaining the things their doing so us and their opponent will be able to understand clearly which effect is happening.
Great stuff! And while I was able to follow the game, and this could be just me, but the camera position made the game confusing at times. In one angle you're shown on the right side of the screen but in the overhead shot your playmat is on the left. Keeping your board on the left side for the overhead view might have made for a better viewing experience but it was a good match still!
Such a cool format! I wish this kind of sealed play were more popular as an event; too bad it's so expensive compared to a sealed format in other TCGs. Only a whole booster box gives enough trainers; one box can draft two players at best, and that's if you use every trainer card in the box. Still, if you're looking to open booster boxes anyway, it's a cool competitive format that I think more people should try! (Not necessarily betting the box contents, of course!)
which booster box set is for beginner to play tournament and collecting card orderly as a hooby . I Wanna start collecting pokemon card as a beginner. plz tell me brother!
It's just a habit built over years and years of playing pokemon tcg from both of us, there really isn't anything to do during opponent's turn so this is what we do, will fix/cut out of videos in future :)
@@jamesctcg I'm honestly curious, there's a single guy that does it all the time in my weekly local Play! tournament and if you'd do it in chess you'd definitely be reprimanded. On friday's tournament, btw, a player, once he realized he couldn't win, just did as much as he could and as slow as he could without being called out so that the time would run out and would cause it to be a tie. At this point it was a 5 to 1 prizes and his deck was Chien Pau, so not a mill deck or anything. They did end up on a tie. Is that a normal occurrence? I've only been playing again this year and that seems quite against the spirit of the game for me. Anyway, thanks for the answer and that was a very cool challenge. So hard to make decks with cards from a single set, especially pulled from a booster box.
That was a fun watch, but the constant card flicking is annoying, because the mic picks up everything. I'm very interested, why so many people do this?
im only on the collector side of the tcg and only tried online like a handfull of times and i was so confused on what was happened and the pacing guess ill stick to collecting 😅
You guys could have atleast advise your opponent at what card or skills you are using. We don’t even know if which effects are happening all cards are flying around lol
Bro you said “ at least “ like these guys didnt just go through big tsg tournaments and payed money to buy these and spent the time editing this whole video. And besides you typed out 2 whole sentences when you AT LEAST couldve said,”nice video!”
@Duo-gorilla 21:31 You can also hear Owyn asking "What's Happening" in this clip and his a Top Pro player but still getting confused about the play James doing lol. So it would be nice to atleast they could have taken the time to explain which effects are going given that James just wanted 1 match. To be honest Owyn's deck is not even as good as James deck and he was able to make his deck work.
ty for feedback, it's hard for me (who plays the game a ton) to understand what's easy to understand and not. The clip "what's happening" is referring to Owyn not understanding why strategically I'm making that play of just giving up my Garchomp though lol

@@munigarg3771this would be a good recommendation if they’d actually make more of them
Purplecliffe
100th like 😅
Agreed
The Adhd levels are crazy
yes
Ahahahahhqgq i didnt even notife the noise untill the end of the video
Attention disorder… HEY DONUTS
mmmmmm
very cool video but I wqoulld go nuts if I heard the clapping of the cards every single second when its my turn that's crazy
Always super interesting watching high level players in alternative formats. Very entertaining. Love the content!
It was so confusing that the top-down view is mirrored, but I loved the content!

Small note but you should chill on the card fidgeting cuz you're killing the mic with it 😆
It's like firecrackers! 😂
adds to the gameplay
It's so stressful 😂😂😂
It's annoying asf when they SNAP as loud as possible whenever they MOVE just bending the crap iut of them
its honestly very distracting too
Really enjoyed this as someone getting into the TCG. More like this would be great.

Major oversight from me, will fix for future vids thanks for the feedback :)

I feel like pokemon players discovered draft just like yugitubers and magic tubers had been doing for months, but I won’t complain BECAUSE I LOVE THIS
Wow this was a great video! Love your content! Would like to see more of this.
Loved the video really showed there’s a lot of thought that goes into deck building
which booster box set is for beginner to play tournament and collecting card orderly as a hooby . I Wanna start collecting pokemon card as a beginner. plz tell me brother!
liked the editing and showing the cards on screen
The amount of card asmr I did not expect 😭
We both open a box: winner takes all!
Gotta be a better title ❤
Love this kind of videos! :)
Honestly the Skeledirge/Garchomp deck was fire!
Loved this video idea, would love to see more of this!
down to the heads or tails at the end that was crazy
Owens deck had so many staples hahah. Love watching limited format vids
Thanks for this vidéo it was so funny to look and your so good at the game it's impressive !
You play so fast!!!! its amazing! and you shuffle so quickly! i feel like my games are at a snail's pace compared to this!
its highly edited lol the game was a lot slower than this
i hate so much how you both fidget with your cards in hand, the amount of bend being put on those cards is going to ruin them in the long run.
same, the constant sound of them fidgeting was so annoying. one of my least favourite things to come across when playing someone
@@jordserella it's a shame as the video concept was great.
@@Danster189 you make it sound like card fidgeting ruined the video, I agree its definitely noticeable but just lower the volume a little more lol
It’s just fucking cards. Meant to bend/play. You probably don’t give that much cares to your family.
The fidgeting of the cards during downtime makes me so uninterested. Is that a tick or is it done on purpose to throw off the opponent?

Great video James :)
really fun video, you crushed it king
an upgraded match using these decks would be crazy just raming it up until it turns into a full blown series (opening box to add into the deck)
This is how Pokémon intended people to open packs not just “get nothing” and rage
I thought it was funny how they pulled an SIR Salvatore and was just like "oh that's pretty good"
what sleeves did yall use? those sounds crisp.... also huge comeback
How did he activate the ability of the Sandy shocks?
His opponent had 5 price cards, or am I missing something?
First use of sandy shocks opponent has 3 prizes left
The card flicking and laugh is mad

Great video 🔥
Love the vídeo, the build a deck with a booster box and battle is super cool ideia
Love this idea and great video! Just was confusing that y’all switch sides in the top down view
what sleeves do you guys use?
I can't speak for Owyn but I use ultimate guard :)
this was wild comeback
I really enjoyed this
I love how much u shuffle cards 😂😂😂
Great video
Love this
Just subscribed, I hope you do more if this content!
this is my 1stbtime watching a tcg battle. I play the online tcg but never irl. But random question why r u flicking ur cards so much?
It's just a fidgeting thing, if you've ever seen poker it's similar to people messing with chips, just a somewhat ADHD thing, thanks for watching :)
@jamesctcg ahh okay I wasn't sure if it was fidgeting or sorting or somthing. Your welcome mate. Left you a like ✨️
yeah, the twitching with the cards made this impossible to watch lol
first thought was "its unfair cause of ace specc card"... well its more unfair cause of different sets.
*slap* 1.5sec later *slap* then *slap slap slap*
im only on the collector side of the tcg and only tried online like a handfull of times and i was so confused on what was happened and the pacing
guess ill stick to collecting 😅
very good i loved
Can you do a how to play snorlax stall post words please😅
Will for sure have a few coming up 🔥🔥🔥
Who opens packs like that lmao
The Salvatore is an alt art
So is the garchomp

Why are they so adhd with their cards

The flicking of the cards, my god it’s annoying.
Couldn't finish the video. The amount of fidgeting with cards was just way too much.
