I usually like to create suspense and curiosity. For instance, I'd say: 'This is not it, right?" as a subject line. It grabs attention and no, it is not clickbait if you deliver on your promise.

Hi Jen, I saw Will Allred's post on LinkedIn this morning saying percentages/multipliers in the body harm reply rate - will a pure-number subject line still work well?

It’s important to sometimes look past the data
Oftentimes numbers in subject lines are things like “Get 2x the reply rate” or “40% more revenue” or “5-minutes of your time?” or “Save $6 million on payroll”
In this case the subject is only numbers which is more of a pattern interrupt and would be considered an outlier/anomaly to best practices!
