This was a pivotal jam in the evolution of Chicago House Music. Clubs were pumping this in '81 when the sound was called "New Wave"...which evntually became "Preppie Dance" and then finally HOUSE. CHICAGO HOUSE 4EVAHHH!!!
I was born in 1983 and I almost grew with this song. My father still owns the original LP I used to listen to...when I was little I spent days and nights only listening to it. I just jumped back 20 years whoa!
Back in the early 80's living in Norwalk, CA., this song was heard in all the backyard parties and BBQ's. Those days, the music was called 21 and over, the genre was a cousin to 80's disco. FYI
I ve got the "history of house music" too!! You can be proud friend. Being a french myself I can tell you that Belgian electronic music is definitely a reference for french people!
Loving this low budget video! ROFL I also love Telex, though I had a wonderfully New wavo/Romo look in my mind for this vid. Still wonderful, no matter what though. :) Cutting edge for 79.
Words aren't enough for describe the admiration that I still feel for this great person, I can't do anything but be grateful for everything that he gave us in all those years. Grazie Marc.

I'm puzzled reading that some people, even from Belgium didn't know that it existed a French version as well.I'm from Spain, and I first saw this video at the age of 12,in 1982,in a Spanish program about modern music. The speaker said they represented Belgium in Eurovision, and suddenly I remembered them. The fact is that I didn't know it existed an English version since today!!!
Love it !! I have all of there songs on 12" singles, every time I put there songs on every one would always ask where can they get it from and who are they..
This is one of the first 45s I ever bought, along with The Buggles' "VKARS." It still gives me the chills when I hear it. The French version is undoubtedly better.
@xiho Belgium had a lively post-punk and new-wave scene in the beginning of the eighties. Visit Antwerp and Brussels, there's plenty of second hand vinyl.
@103959770979 you hit the target spot on there these guys were there all together early PURE synth ...matbe vangelis sparx and hawkwind even if memory serves me correctly :) m49 ps dont forget YELLO most/all middle aged men by then as well
And what about the Manneken Pis? The moules farcies? I love Belgium! The cuisine is superb, the architecture very elegant and heartwarming (think Grand Place in Brussels or around the canals in Bruges), and the women quite attractive. Also important, it's the "capital" of Europe!
R.I.P.. Beste Belgische song aller tijden. Way ahead of it's time!
MAN THANKS GOD I FOUND THIS SONG. IT TOOK ME A FEW YEARS TO FIND IT BECAUSE I DID'NT KNOW THE SONG'S NAME. THAT WAS GOOD MUSIC.
Thumbs up if you still listen to this in 2012!

Rest in Peace, Marc!! And thanks for your lovely music!
I was lookig for this son for the longest and found it heard it back in1984 inthe clubs
This is one of the greatest synthy tunes of all time.
This song was ahead of its time. The closest thing we had in the US to Telex was Electric Light Orchestra.
I bought the record for this the other day. Its so good. especially their cover of ca plane pour moi. Moscow disco is one of my favourites.

Still have the 12" single of this. Brilliant.
Loving this low budget video! ROFL I also love Telex, though I had a wonderfully New wavo/Romo look in my mind for this vid. Still wonderful, no matter what though. :) Cutting edge for 79.
I had never heard this until today, and I immediately realized where the "train whistle" sound from "Faithfull" by Fantom came from.

I love that synth lead in the background.

was recorded in English by Telex too. It was called "My Future". It was on the LP 'sex'

So, the song "Faithfull" by Fantom uses this original track as a sample? Sweet.
Yes, the French had their own as well. This goes very nicely with Moroder's "Chase."
got this album in 79 sad how gen Y will probably never find where most of thier stuff is stolen from....m49
@RODALCO2007 These are old Belgian locomotives and trains yes!
