    I just bought a 02 GSXR1000 a couple weeks ago and was riding home the other night from work and my headlights just shut off going 50-60 mph down a dark back road in TN. Gonna check this out tomorrow, it has to be this tho cause the lights started burning once i got it home on the trailer lol. My luck!!

      Yeah.just go through the connectors and check for anything that's black or burnt grey. If you see anything that looks like that, scrap the metal until it turns silver again!

    these connetros have long been the gsxrs achilles, the R/R... yup, heat, a mosfet R/r will help with all this dramatically your charging and electrical runs way cooler no matter the load, unless its unrealistic load of course like a ground short or something an accessory drawing ay too much, mosfet will stop flicker, battery last longer, charges better, quicker..

    Helpful video! These are Sumitomo connectors. If the housing isn't melted and you're really picky about your repairs, you could just replace the bad pins. www.corsa-technic.com/category.php?category_id=51 Make sure you get the correct style for your connector. They also sell the complete replacement connectors.

      @@fullysuited dude heck yeah, so I got a 2001 gsxr 600 , and the dude i got from said something got wet? Or something idk , he danced around it. Long story short. He ended up by passing the switch on the handlebar , and used 3rd party switch that he put on the fairing. Well when I went to plug in the light bulb today, the normal way, I found the handlebar switch wouldn't work(high beam/low beam) but the horn and both turn signals work on the switch?
      So idk what to do. Both factory connectors that would normally plug into the bulbs were cracked so I chopped them and ended up getting crimp on connectors. But I guess my question is what would make ONLY the head lights not work on the switch , while the turn signals work and horn.

    • @fullysuited
      @fullysuited  4 года назад +2

      That is funny you ask because as of now my blinkers work my tell lights work but my headlight in the digital screen does not work long story short I was talking to a mechanic in he thinks it's my Ignition switch since I have not changed mine out yet I don't know if that will work but because your description is similar to mine I think that is what you're dealing with

      @@fullysuited hahha that's funny. But shitty at the same time lol.
      So the dude I got the bike from put led strips in becsuse the "bulbs kept breaking" so today I accidentally shorted out my dash trying to figure out how to hook them back up. But I changed a 15A fuse . And the screen came on.
      The light however for the lights , isnt working. Nor is the switch , nor the tail lights now. I'm so mad lol

    • @fullysuited
      @fullysuited  6 лет назад +1

      Christopher Silletti At that point you are not getting power. Have you checked the fuses next to throttle ?

    • @christophersilletti3723
      @christophersilletti3723 6 лет назад

      fullysuited ok so just found out from working on the bike. the black connector with the two orange loops, O/B & O/R. When I unplug my headlights, and jiggle the black connector to the right spot I get power to the headlights but after I connect the headlight connectors to the bulb, the power is no longer there. When I removed the headlight connectors the power is back. So maybe there is a wire that I have to splice and join together. Just don’t know which color, will be studying the wiring diagram a bit more though.

    • @fullysuited
      @fullysuited  6 лет назад

      Yeah. It's always at the connection. I will add that info to my arsenal for other riders.
      Make sure you use some light bulb grease in the future

    • @christophersilletti3723
      @christophersilletti3723 6 лет назад

      fullysuited yeah so I found out for sure it’s that black connector with the two looped orange wires. My next thing is trying to figure a long term fix, I was thinking just find which one is the main power for headlight & just join them together with a crimp. Or black tape it to the frame some how so it doesn’t move. What do you suggest ?
