Unfortunately you didn't talk about two very important things: 1, Do you have to start a new game to play it or can you play the DLC as a continuation after finishing the game 2, how much play time has the DLC to offer until its missions are finished? Hope you can supply some answers to that.
Loved this game when it came out, but for some reason I soured on it as time went on. Couldn't really figure it out. This review made me want to jump back in though, looks super fun. Thanks for the review, hope you're well man!
I rarely sour on games. But I also feel that outer worlds I would not ever return to as a replayable title. I liked what I got well and this. But I get ya. I think I just lack any real time lately to return
For me its the fact I played it on Gamepass for a buck, and to play the DLCs Id now have to buy the base game on top of DLCs on Steam, with no idea if my gamepass save is even transferable. Not to mention if the saves even exist, as Gamepass sometimes keeps the saves in the games folder and deletes them without asking when uninstalling the game.
I have the same feeling about it for some reason. Thought it was fun at release but a bit overrated however really not worried about replaying it like I do many RPG’s

I grew up with my parents watching SG1, so going back and seeing James Spader and Kurt Russell in the original movie have always been the weird stand ins for me.

If I wasn't told this was from DLC and not the main game I'd never have guessed. Every area looks exactly the same in this game. All the outside is this mildly overgrown with alien plants look with random buildings and objects placed here and there. Same with the inside buildings. Nothing in the game is unique enough that you can, without looking at a sign or your map, tell which area you're in.
Could be because they didn’t have the money or were low on number of assets to use. Though I will say new Vegas looked pretty good for it’s time being that they had to reuse fallout 3 assets
I should retry this on my series x and my new TV because your footage of PC gameplay looks so much better than what I saw on my 1X. I know it doesn't work like that necessarily, but the new TV has had astounding improvements across all games for me. Its the VRR
Playing Outer Worlds during the early stages of the pandemic was a great way to cope with the stress and uncertainty. It really transported me, and the sense of exploration/humor brought me back to my childhood playing Fallout 3

And that's why I haven't yet purchased this game, because I am waiting for the definitive edition, which almost all the time is much more affordable than the base game plus separate DLCs. At least in Mexico that is the case, and if you purchase the physical game, it's even cheaper!

As always, amazing review! I didn’t play the Gorgon one, since I don’t own the game and played it on game pass when I had a subscription. But I’ve been wanting to buy the game for awhile, so maybe I’ll pick it up and play this too!
I had a lot of fun with the base game, mainly because of the writing, humor, and characters. But the gameplay will always stop me from coming back. It severely lacks that "umph" factor and I'm still disappointed with the lack of new weaponry.
@@andrewn8002 I finished the latest DLC and had 540 I think. And I loot every nook and cranny of the game, but I’ve never bought one though. I was just saying 200 from the top of my head. I also had 13000 gun ammo 😄

I've always enjoyed this game and still had fun with Gorgon despite it being kinda meh. Very happy to hear this DLC is even better! My wish is that Obsidian can work with Bethesda on the next Fallout game and can take their stellar writing and RPG elements into the beautiful worlds that Bethesda builds.
Loved Fallout New Vegas, and played this game on launch, and it feels somehow off. I wasn't invested at all, got bored after a few hours, gunplay is terrible, etc.
I actually really liked Gorgon despite its naysayers, so I'm sure I'll definitely enjoy this DLC particularly with ACG's recommendation of it. Obsidian is easily one of my favorite gaming companies ever. I don't think I've played a single game of there's that I haven't at least liked if not full on loved.

Fallout 4 had me coming back for multiple playthroughs way more than Outer Worlds did, it's good and I like a lot of its content but because of its size it starts to feel repetitive after a couple playthroughs. Putting the massive availability for mods that fallout 4 has on top of that and it just was a better game overall imo.

Player level capping at 36. Seriously Obsidian? Three levels up for the two DLC instead of five levels each making an even level 40 cap, c'mon just patch that in for us! Three measly levels per expansion just rubs me the wrong way, I can't be the only one feeling bugged about this right? Edit: I'd be forgiving if we got four dlc expansions, with 3 level ups each, adding up to a 42 level cap.
You didn't touch on the playtime... can somebody tell me approximately how many hrs they got out of this one. I've got the expansion pass in just curious before i download
The only thing I didn't like is how obvious the solution to the mystery was. They made it so blatant that I was honestly hoping it would be a red herring, but no. I get you don't want to make it too much of a challenge, but make it slightly challenging please.
Finally got to play the base game on game pass windows. Been meaning to get it, was just one of those games I knew I'd love and sure enough I'm tempted to get the DLC for it, but if I do that I feel like I should buy the game incase it goes off game pass. New to gamepass, if I buy the DLC for a game am I able to use that DLC on the non gamepass game? Sorry if stupid question.
Main quest was okay, started getting really boring and samey midway though, it also felt like it lacked some real depth in the game, unlike other games of this type.
I never finished the outer worlds because I goofed up my character and couldn't progress in the way I wanted to anymore 🤣 Now is a good time to return with the full DLC released and the 60 FPS patch!
The original game stuttered so badly on my 2070 super, regardless of messing with settings or twiddling with nvidia’s panels, that I never got round to digging into it, which is a shame because I love a whole bunch of obsidian’s output.
DLC is really good but it has some issues on the Series X. I can't beat it because the last mission crashes whenever I save or it autosaves. Sucks because I was really enjoying it tbh..

I been discovering that fps genre is good. But the always pointing the weapon and the way objects are picked. Breaks the immersion for me. Can it be fix? Could there be a different way to do those?
Very strange game. I like all its component parts...but find the whole utterly tedious. I play for ten minutes, apparently enjoying myself, and then wake up an hour later and realise that I’ve fallen asleep with the controller in my hand...
I find it hard to believe that this dlc is fun. I personally found the game mediocre at release ... I'm not really sure what I would change about it but it just wasn't for me unfortunately. However you've talked so highly of this that I might give it another try. Hopefully this time I fall in love with the game.
I've been playing the dlc and liking it but on ps4 there seems to be some sort of glitch where when i interact with a clue my characters are supposed to talk to each other but it doesnt work the cinematic doesnt play appropriately lol
Just got the spacers choice edition for free on epic game store. Running at least 70-80fps at high settings with my 6 year old gaming Laptop with a 1070mq gpu :D

I really do hope the level cap is raised more than the Gorgon DLC because 3 extra levels is kinda abysmal for how difficult a few encounters were.

When does this get released for PS4? It reads “now available” at the main menu but I cannot find it in the PS store.
I had to go to the Obsidian website to find the link to the PS4 store for it (purchased on my PC but for the PS4).

The Other Worlds was a very average game and the DLC's seem to share the same problem of mediocrity.

Been playing on 1440p max settings with 85% scaling on just an i5 10400 and a (pretty heavily overclocked) 1660 super. Locked at 60.

Put a few hours into Outer Worlds but because it starts off slow I quickly got bored. As an rpg fan, I should've given it much more time.

When did the 60fps patch come to ps5? I downloaded the game a month or so ago, and it was running sub 30 so i backed off.
It was in the patch a couple days ago that got things ready for the new DLC. Haven't seen any confirmation yet that it's actually stable at 60 though.

Having "from the original creators of fallout" as a tag line doesn't necessarily mean "we're making another fallout guys!"

I been discovering that fps genre is good.
But the always pointing the weapon and the way objects are picked.
Breaks the immersion for me.
Can it be fix?
Could there be a different way to do those?
Very strange game. I like all its component parts...but find the whole utterly tedious. I play for ten minutes, apparently enjoying myself, and then wake up an hour later and realise that I’ve fallen asleep with the controller in my hand...

I find it hard to believe that this dlc is fun. I personally found the game mediocre at release ... I'm not really sure what I would change about it but it just wasn't for me unfortunately. However you've talked so highly of this that I might give it another try. Hopefully this time I fall in love with the game.
I hope all outer worlds DLC is a winner. I want outer worlds free on psplus.

Obsidian is just class. Loved this game and New Vegas. Better than Fallout 3/4 imo!
I've been playing the dlc and liking it but on ps4 there seems to be some sort of glitch where when i interact with a clue my characters are supposed to talk to each other but it doesnt work the cinematic doesnt play appropriately lol
Just got the spacers choice edition for free on epic game store.
Running at least 70-80fps at high settings with my 6 year old gaming Laptop with a 1070mq gpu :D
