      I feel you on that. I usually work outside and it definitly puts a damper on my progress. Borrow a garage like I did and invest in a heater! That Propane tank lasted me the full trans swap

    Love the content! Quick question, I’m about to start the process of manual swapping my s4 avant and I have all my parts but did you have to swap radiators since the radiator on the tip cars have a built in trans cooler? Thank!

    • @49Motors
      @49Motors  8 месяцев назад +1

      I swapped to manual because my tip radiator blew a hole and I couldn't find one for a decent price. I ended up buying a aftermarket radiator. You can run the stock tip radiator. The trans lines aren't connected to the coolant or anything. So if left un hooked you won't have an issue. You just lose some rows coolant compared to a manual radiator

      3rd time lol but yea been chasing this clutch issue from the start of the manual swap. Didn't want to belive it was my new 1500 clutch set up that turned out to be garbage

    wait wym you fucked up the wire harness, i i just got done sodering a new igniton coil harness and now your scaring me bruh. im having issues but im thinking its my o2

    • @49Motors

      I just found out not long ago that soldering is not the best way to go about engine wires. The heat cycles and vibrations create breaks in the soldering. I'm getting codes for open circuits for my coils. Car runs well but it throws those codes. Wire crimping is best for adoptions

      Hey brotha. I'm working on a quick/cheap fix for the coil harness. I'm reading forms, and both grounds should be separated. Pin #2 on all coils should be grounded to the fire wall (the stock harness ground's the coils to fire wall).
      The rest of the #4 pins should be grounded separately to a clean bolt on the valve cover
      The stock coils only have 3 pins because the coils ground when bolted to the valve cover. the 2.0 coils do not make contact with the valve cover so where pin 4 comes in.
      So what im going to do is create a small loom for all #4 grounds with a proper guage wire and ground it to the valve covers. Maybe even the ground on the back of the head. Once I try this I will post a video on how to do this.

      Pin 1 is power pin
      Pin 2 is the ground to the fire wall
      Pin 3 is the signal wire from the ecu
      Pin 4 is the ground to the head (stock coils have this ground through the bolts that hold them to the car)
      This is the conclusion I've come up with.
      I apologize for the misguidance brotha. I think pilfering should still hold up if you twist the wires and shrink wrap them. Any way im going use a wire crimper with non insulated butt connectors and I will insulate them with heat shrink for a cleaner install

      whaaaaaat, the harness i got came with a single ground that bolts to valve cover@@49Motors
