I've never used the leave-in but that Nourish and Shine.. I won't be without it. It's been a staple for over a year now!! LOVE IT!! I will try the leave in if they have it at the Hair Show in April! :)
Here is another way to use the smoother styler. Wash hair with one of the Jane Carter shampoos. Use the styler smoother as a leave in. Blow dryer your hair. Then as you separate sections for twists use a very small amount of the curl defining cream. Don't add so much curl defining cream that the hair becomes wet, just barely moist. Make your twist. When complete seal with a 1/2 dime size amount of nourish and shine or the Hydrate seal and shine. Personally I prefer the Hydrate seal and shine, but the nourish and shine is fine as well. Before she came out with the new Hydrate products, the Jane Carter line did not work well in my 4b/c hair. It just was not moisturizing enough. The new Hydrate products make all the difference for me. By the way, her products are now available in at Sally's Beauty Supply.
My hair was so matted and dry from leaving in a donut bun for two weeks. It was a nightmare and I really thought I would have to cut off my hair (22 months post relaxer, 13 months natural, coarse 4 hair). Jane Carter Curl defining cream and revitalizing spray saved my hair (with finger detangling). This just happened yesterday and wanted to share.
I love JCS products. I got the Curl Defining Cream and Nourish and Shine from my sister, and I won the Hair Serum and Scalp Repair (I think that's the name) in a giveaway. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Nourish and Shine scent! Glad to see it works for another 4c! If you can snag a sample, the Curl Defining Cream is really nice on wash and gos.
I love the scent of the nourish and shine. I use when taking down my twists. I also like to use the Jane Carter leave in conditioner spray when RE-TWISTING my hair. I get zero breakage, it detangles, and the scent gives me energy when I'm retwisting at night. I really like her products.
I really want to try these products! The nourish and shine has been on my list since my big chop 2 years ago and now that the price has dropped I hope to pick it up soon. I just love products that soften my hair. Now I want to try that creamy leave in too. Thanks for this review!
I use it the "Replenishing ... Conditioner" and it's my favorite deep conditionner. I use the liquid leave-in conditioner. I find this one great for mid-week moisturizing but not enough for a leave-in after (co-)washing. I've also used the nourish shine and the hair nourishing cream (that I really don't like). In general, I LOVE JC products scent.
Awesome! I just bought the conditioner and I really like it too! I think I got the older formula though because the ingredients are different than that on the site :/
I was always tempted by this line, but over here in Europe it's hellishly expensive and I could never find any sample sizes. I'm really glad it's working for you. xxx
Never heard of Jane Carter before but looks familiar like a product I've browse over in the store. Got to really check this line! I also have 4c hair and a flatiron occasionally. This could be awesome products for me to moisturize my hair and stretch it prior to my flat ironing routine.
Hey girl...it's been a long time. I've tried her products and wasn't too impressed. The only one I still have is the nourish and shine. Buying them at the natural hair show will allow you to try more for a good price. She sells the liquid products for $5 ea or something like that.
I love this for moisturizing my twists in between washing. Odd as there is no water, but it works great. I also flat iron occasionally and this stuff really nourishes my ends and scalp.
Great review! Jane Carter Hydrate Quencher is the only product I've used from the line and it excellent for moisturizing and detangling. The ingredients are A+. The down side is the smell, but the line is a really good one
Thanks for being brave and trying these products. I have been checking this product out for over a yr but was scared to try (mainly for the price...lol). But your review makes me want to go ahead and try it out. I just never get a lot of naturals who have tried this. Thanks again. And we shall see if it does any wonders on my hair. I know the Vitamin Shoppe was running a pretty good sale on Jane Carter products this week so I better head over there. Not sure about your location but here in IL they are running the sales so you might want to check their site or your local stores as well. Thanks again Kriss for the review.
I knew exactly where to find a good review for this lol I just ordered it online and I needed some details, thanks so much for sharing! Can't wait to try them!
I tried the leave in conditioner and I love it. My hair is so soft-actually too soft but I'm not going back to my old leave in conditioner. Target sells sample packs of her products for $19.99. You can try the conditioner and shampoo and 3 other products. I started with this just to see if I liked it. The pack is called Natural and curly care essential kit.
Thanks for this review I LOVE the Nourish and Shine, but don't think I will try the Leave In Smoother I had been searching for a review on it again Thanks.
I love her wrap and roll for twisting. I also use the shampoo and conditioner. I use the shine and define on my daughters hair when I blow it out. I love it. I n going to have to try the hydrating creme as well.
I've used the Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner as a deep conditioner. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it as a deep conditioner but I like it as a regular conditioner. It might work better if I had a hooded dryer or if I leave it in my hair longer. Thank you for the review on the Jane Carter products. I was also curious about the other products from this line.
Okay, NaturalC, I went out and bought the products and they are amazing so far! The cream styler made my hair feel so good. The Nourish and Shine added to the softness. I had to mix other oils with it because it was still too heavy for my fine hair. The look of your hair had me sold. Thanks for the review.
Funny the cheapest place I can get the Nourish and Shine is Amazon which is usually the opposite for most other products. They have it for $11.99 and with the shipping and handling you don't pay over $15 while in the stores it's $22. I love it, it's keeps my hair so soft! I have to try the leave in. Great review!
Lol at "herbs taking over." I saw that, I was hoping it would smell like the rest of her line (conditioner, nourish and shine, etc.). If you come to the hair show, you can get crazy deals on Jane Carter, 50% off or better on her products!
Great review. I've gotta try this creme leavein. The nourish&shine has been a staple of mine from the 1st time I tried it. I always catch it on sale at Vitamin Shoppe or Target. When I 1st went natural I saw it @a hair show 4 just $5. I would have stocked up on it then if I'D known my hair would love the stuff. I also love her curling cream. I didn't think a cream would really work on my texture hair 4 a wng, but the product made a believer out of me. The revitalizing leave in conditioner works well as a remoisturizer, but i'm not a fan of the quench product....2 much protein 4 my strands.
I've had a sample of the nourish and shine, my hair was really soft too. It felt really nice. I haven't bought the full size because of the actual price + UK shipping.
I know I told you already but those to together are amazing! I got the styling smoother after you posted about it on facebook and I am hooked on this stuff. The two combined give me the most amazing and very defined twist out results I have ever had....It is consistently the same results which I love! I have tried the styling smoother with shea butter and it gave me pretty decent results. I am going to try it with a wash and go to see if it works for me. I have all but given up on the wash and go...lol
I always want to try Jane Carter Nourish and Shine but I can't get past the smell and the price so I'll see if I can catch them on sale when I'm out of what I use regularly. Gret Review! You definitely sold me lol
Great review. Your hair is awesome. Walgreen's in some neighbor"hoods" are carrying it. I am soooooo proud of my little Walgreen's... They have one awesome selection of natural products...
That's awesome! I wish my Walgreens was like that lol. I actually saw the regular conditioner (1) and the nourish and shine (1) at my rite aid smh . What's up with them only carrying one? lol
I wonder if you asked them to carry it????? Also, Walgreen's are more apt to have a bogo. I really would like to try the nourish and shine...but $$$$$ :)
A Terrainye lol Maybe! I'd probably chicken out lol!!! I think this line should definitely bring the prices down on the nourish and shine and some of the restore line esp ...
I use the revitalizing leave in when i install small to mini twist. It's awesome...I have 4bc hair mostly c and it detangles very nicely. I also use the wrap and roll lotion...only occasionally...its like any other setting lotion.
Haven't tried the Creamy Leave-in Conditioner but the regular one is a great detangler. When I run into stubborn tangles, I know that will always get it out. I hae the Nourish and Shine and use mainly to take my twists down. Will start using to twist, with a gel. You are right, you do not need much. Despite the price, it lasts a really long time.
I tried the nourish and shine based on your review and I loved it. My hair is super super dry. It's the only item that made my hair soft. I don't mind the price because I have been so disappointed with what I tried so far. i tried SM milks and ORS curls unleashed for moisture but they couldn't moisture my hair past a few hours. I plan to try another JC to pair with the nourish and shine. I am looking at the following: JC revitalizing leave in conditioner, styling smoother or hydrate quench. Thanks for the review.
Great review, thank you. I've wondered about this line as well. I think I'll try it on my daughter's hair. I finally caved in and had my hair relaxed last week. I'll do everything I can to protect it, but it is so much more manageable. If the Jamaican Black Castor Oil continues to do what it does - I will get some growth, even out the 99 different lengths, then go natural once and for all (uhhh...maybe). Love everything you do - and that beautiful family of yours. I'm not sure where you live, but if you are not represented by an agent, you really need to be. Take care...
I have been eyeing Jane Carter since I started this journey. I will catch her next great sale after I use up some stuff. Probably end of this year. God willing. :)
Great review! JC is on my wish list as well. They are one of the vendors that will be at the Taliah Waajid World Natural Hair Show in Atlanta in April.@Ty Crable attended last year and she said most of the JC products were $5 and $10, you can check out her video on it. I will be attending so I am doing my best to hold on until then. TFS, God bless.
I'm glad they worked well for you because yes they are very expensive. On a very seperate subject have u heard anything about this Shea Moisture make up line?
Hey Kriss, great review! I've tried a number of Jane carter products in the past and for the most part they were ok - good. I didn't care for the nourish & shine though, it was hard and I think it irritated my girls' scalp. They don't fare too well with "citrus" type products. After your description, I'll have to try the creamy leave in though! :-)
Hey Deb JB Nourish & Shine does contain several citrus based essential oils, which can be very strong, some people's scalps are more sensitive then others. Perhaps our Scalp Nourishing Serum would be a better option for your little girls!
JCS seems to be buzzing about the market a bit again. I've had my eye on the N&S for a while, but the price always deterred me. It might be worth it for all that sealing action though... The one product I tried by JCS was the Wrap & Roll & I LOVE it! Adds light/flexible hold, shine, & body. I use it frequently, & it works for flexirod sets, braidouts, flattwist outs, etc. It's wallet friendly & goes pretty far. Definitely a repurchase for me, & I highly recommend it if you ever do any type of rod set!
I love the Nourish and Shine. I have also tried the Curl Defining Cream. It made my 4B hair so dry and hard. Now I am curious about the Creamy Leave in Styling Smoother.
I cowash my hair 2-3 times a week so i don't really have a full week regimen :D But here are examples of how I handle twistouts and wash and go's during that time period. I hope they help! (Also I have a section called Regimen on the channel homepage where I place all the videos dealing with my regimen, deep conditioning etc. On my blog I also have it written out. :D Blog regimen/product page www.naturalme4c.com/regimenproducts.html For wash and gos: Day 1 My True Wash & Go w/ Optional Deep Conditioning - (Cowashing Loose Hair) - NaturalMe4C ruclips.net/video/YiGX7_uS4Ec/видео.html Day 2 Refreshing My True Wash & Go (Tutorial w/ pics) - NaturalMe4C ruclips.net/video/8KzECRjAa9w/видео.html Day 3 Stretching My True Wash & Go (Tutorial + Pics) - NaturalMe4C ( I also sometimes do this on wet cowashed hair if I don't want to rock my 100% shrunken hair.) ruclips.net/video/2e4o4tBpr1w/видео.html For twistouts that I don't want to retwist: days 1-3 Maintaining My Hair Without Re-Twisting Nightly- (Wet Twistout Night Routine) - NaturalMe4C Maintaining My Hair Without Re-Twisting Nightly- (Wet Twistout Night Routine) - NaturalMe4C For twistouts I want to retwist: Dry Banded Twistout Tutorial - (Achieving Day 2 Hair) - NaturalMe4C Dry Banded Twistout Tutorial - (Achieving Day 2 Hair) - NaturalMe4C
Your reviews are awesome... I was just at target and was contemplating on whether I wanted to buy these products... I guess I will since they're on sale at my target :D lol
As always, great review. I always wanted to try the Jane Carter Solution, Curl Defining Cream because I do a lot of wash and go styles. However, it is just too pricey. I currently have the Revitalizing Leave-In Conditioner and also the Condition and Sculpt. I am not a fan of the Revitalizing Leave-In as it is too light for my hair. However the Condition and Sculpt makes for an amazing wash and go. It takes the place of a gel, and makes your hair smooth and pops those coils.
Their revitalizing leave-in spray is the longest moisturizing leave in I've found - compared to karen's beautiful, alikays, shea moisture, CURLS, etc. My 4b hair is seriously moistured all day long, even in when in braids.
Your hair is gorg! Can you do a tutorial on your wash and go using jane carter products. I have 4c hair and want to try a wash n go...thanks in advance!
Thanks! I may have to do an updated wash and go vid :D I haven't changed the steps though, I just switch my products up. Here's what I do when I wash and go: Day 1 My True Wash & Go w/ Optional Deep Conditioning - (Cowashing Loose Hair) - NaturalMe4C ruclips.net/video/YiGX7_uS4Ec/видео.html Day 2 Refreshing My True Wash & Go (Tutorial w/ pics) - NaturalMe4C ruclips.net/video/8KzECRjAa9w/видео.html Day 3 ( I also do this on freshly washed hair (wet hair) if I don't want to rock my full shrinkage from jump :) ) Stretching My True Wash & Go (Tutorial + Pics) - NaturalMe4C ( I also sometimes do this on wet cowashed hair if I don't want to rock my 100% shrunken hair.) ruclips.net/video/2e4o4tBpr1w/видео.html
tiffany thornton No problem! I should probably share how I detangle those just in case lol. This one is old but I do the same technique I just use different products (Eden Cowash, Suave tropical coconut, SM purification masque etc) since tresemme is different now. Wash & Go "Breakdown" ft Tresemme Naturals (old formula) - NaturalMe4C Wash & Go "Breakdown" ft Tresemme Naturals (old formula) - NaturalMe4C This one is newer but I was testing the slip of eden bodyworks leave in so I didn't add much of any product during this session True Wash & Go Breakdown ft Eden BodyWorks Leave in (detangling, cutting knots, etc) - NaturalMe4C True Wash & Go Breakdown ft Eden BodyWorks Leave in (detangling, cutting knots, etc) - NaturalMe4C Phew! lol
I tried the curl defining cream for a wash and go, it have definition but not much moisture, that cream and almond oil was all I used, no leave in so maybe that's what was missing but I like it. Smells like the nourish and shine, no herbal undertones.
I find her products work on my wet hair better. Girl it is the only thing that moisturizes my hair. It gives me the bomb twistouts!!! I use the nourishing cream. I love the stuff. It is worth the 21 bucks! But I found mine on clearance for 5 bucks at Target!!!
The creamy leave-in gave me severe dryness & breakage while having greasy arse hair. I had to pre-poo with conditioner for hours and do a hard-core protein treatment . I have also tried condition & sculpt and the hair nourishing cream and my hair hated them too. I will not be trying anymore of her products & my hair is 3c/4a. My hair was pissed with me & wanted to dropkick her, lol. I'll continue to stick with my darcy's botanicals, komaza care & claudies revitalizer.
JD Bailey It sounds like you may have used too much. Our products are very concentrated and only a small amount is needed. We encourage you to re-visit Creamy Leave In, perhaps dilute a bit with water, it should make a big difference.
I have Jane Carter's Nourish and Shine. I don't care for it. I didn't know I cld use it on my skin. So I'll try it that way. It seems too dry and hard. It's not for me. Maybe I got a bad batch. It's too costly to try any of her other products.
I don't know. I'm in Houston. There's always humid days. It must be from a bad batch. :). Thx for answering this. I love ur posts--as I've said before. Keep up the good work.
Teresa Seals please e-mail us at info@janecartersolution.com about your dry and hard Nourish & Shine, a picture would be helpful. Also, you can pop it in the microwave for 15 seconds, then put it in the fridge for 10 minutes and it will be as good as new!
I just got the Nourish and shine for 10 bucks on clearance at target
I've never used the leave-in but that Nourish and Shine.. I won't be without it. It's been a staple for over a year now!! LOVE IT!! I will try the leave in if they have it at the Hair Show in April! :)

I am using the Nourish & Shine, the Moisturizing Shampoo, the Leave-in Conditioner, and I am very pleased with Jane's products. Plan to buy more
Ella Presley Awesome! I'm glad this line works for you too! :D

NaturalMe4C I'm going to try that creamy leave in though and try the nourish and shine as a styler. Will let you know how it turns out!
their hydrate and restore line is really good
I really wanna try that line out :D
I really want to try these products! The nourish and shine has been on my list since my big chop 2 years ago and now that the price has dropped I hope to pick it up soon. I just love products that soften my hair. Now I want to try that creamy leave in too. Thanks for this review!

Great review!
Jane Carter Hydrate Quencher is the only product I've used from the line and it excellent for moisturizing and detangling. The ingredients are A+. The down side is the smell, but the line is a really good one
Definitely want that one lol!
I would like to say thank you for responding to your messages you have a friendly personality
No problem! I like interacting with everyone :D

I tried the leave in conditioner and I love it. My hair is so soft-actually too soft but I'm not going back to my old leave in conditioner. Target sells sample packs of her products for $19.99.
Nice! It sounds like you have a nice stash! :D

No prob! Also thanks for the heads up on the conditioner :D
I love the nourish and shine. I have dry 4c hair
Oh, and the conditioner used to work freak when paired with my gels for wash n goes and it's cheaper. I used her conditioners as leave ins.
Awesome! I hope they continue to work well for you :D
dee doc You may want to try some of our lighter oils, like Hair Nourishing Cream or Hair Nourishing Serum
Thanks so much for the reply. From this review, I purchased 100.00 of products. You may want to sponsor Natural 4c.

Just bought a sample of jane Carter's line for a flexi-rod set. Hope it looks cute when done. Thanks for your review.
I hope it works for you! :)
Thanks. Love watching you and your family. You guys are awesome and funny.
Lejejuande Magee Thank you!! :)
Thanks for the video. I have been looking into these products myself.

Nice!! :D
I'm glad they worked well for you because yes they are very expensive.
On a very seperate subject have u heard anything about this Shea Moisture make up line?
I've heard about it but I'm not sure when it launches :D
Hey Kriss, great review! I've tried a number of Jane carter products in the past and for the most part they were ok - good. I didn't care for the nourish & shine though, it was hard and I think it irritated my girls' scalp. They don't fare too well with "citrus" type products. After your description, I'll have to try the creamy leave in though! :-)
Aww too bad :/ Yeah I wish the scent was a little less apparent lol
Awesome!!! Thanks for the suggestion! :D
I love the Nourish and Shine. I have also tried the Curl Defining Cream. It made my 4B hair so dry and hard. Now I am curious about the Creamy Leave in Styling Smoother.
I've been thinking about trying the cream... We'll see.... I heard it gives a crunch :/
Can you do a weekly hair regimen video. For ppl who don't have a hair regimen.

Your reviews are awesome... I was just at target and was contemplating on whether I wanted to buy these products... I guess I will since they're on sale at my target :D lol
lol Thank you!
Could you do an updated bantu knot out video?
On sale right now @ TARGET....pick it up ladies or get a rain check. They are really good about giving out rain checks .
Nice!!!
Thanks for the heads up! :D
My sister gave me all her JCS products because she got sisterlocs. SCORE! If you lived in Atlanta, I'd be willing to share.
Aww thanks! :D
broyale7 You may want to check out new Moisture Mist (Shea & water emulsion) or Quench, which is heavier then our regular leave in with a light hold.
I love the spray leave-in it is great!!
Nice!
Jane Carter is expensive compared to shea moisture, as I am, and Eden body works products. I wanted to try their hydration spray.
Yeah :/ Some of the products are cheaper though which is good :D
Their revitalizing leave-in spray is the longest moisturizing leave in I've found - compared to karen's beautiful, alikays, shea moisture, CURLS, etc. My 4b hair is seriously moistured all day long, even in when in braids.
water7apple That's awesome! I still love these two products as well as the others I've tried from her line! :D
Thanks for doing this video!
It looks like Ulta sells Jane Carter products now which I just found out. I wish I knew before ordering from their website.
Awesome! I just saw it on their site :D
You look wonderful! What makeup are you using today?
Thanks!!! I was wearing revlon colorstay foundation and a couple taupe/purple colors from a bh cosmetics palette :D
I am going to try this product. Did it leave your hair sticky after using a gel with your wash n go?
Lindaj18 Nope, not at all :D
Your hair is gorg! Can you do a tutorial on your wash and go using jane carter products. I have 4c hair and want to try a wash n go...thanks in advance!
Thanks! I may have to do an updated wash and go vid :D I haven't changed the steps though, I just switch my products up.
Here's what I do when I wash and go:

Thank u!
tiffany thornton No problem! I should probably share how I detangle those just in case lol.
This one is old but I do the same technique I just use different products (Eden Cowash, Suave tropical coconut, SM purification masque etc) since tresemme is different now.
Wash & Go "Breakdown" ft Tresemme Naturals (old formula) - NaturalMe4C
Wash & Go "Breakdown" ft Tresemme Naturals (old formula) - NaturalMe4C
This one is newer but I was testing the slip of eden bodyworks leave in so I didn't add much of any product during this session
True Wash & Go Breakdown ft Eden BodyWorks Leave in (detangling, cutting knots, etc) - NaturalMe4C
True Wash & Go Breakdown ft Eden BodyWorks Leave in (detangling, cutting knots, etc) - NaturalMe4C
Phew! lol
What shampoo & conditioner did you used before applying Jane Carter's products?
I tried the curl defining cream for a wash and go, it have definition but not much moisture, that cream and almond oil was all I used, no leave in so maybe that's what was missing but I like it. Smells like the nourish and shine, no herbal undertones.
I heard that the curl defining cream leave a little crunch :/ I've been wanting to check it out...
I find her products work on my wet hair better. Girl it is the only thing that moisturizes my hair. It gives me the bomb twistouts!!! I use the nourishing cream. I love the stuff. It is worth the 21 bucks! But I found mine on clearance for 5 bucks at Target!!!
That's awesome! :D
Yes, I love the curl defining creme! But its pricy so I save it for special occasions and I need my hair to look right...guaranteed! LOL
LOL! Awesome! :D
Aww that stinks! :/ Sounds like what I just went through trying 2 new lines lol
JD Bailey It sounds like you may have used too much. Our products are very concentrated and only a small amount is needed. We encourage you to re-visit Creamy Leave In, perhaps dilute a bit with water, it should make a big difference.
your hair looks bomb
They are too pricey but maybe one day I will catch a sale since I really want to try these
Nice :D
Nice review
Thank you! :)
Hi, love your video, could I use it to put in braids
Rachael Brown Thanks!! I don't see why not as long as you work it in really well :D
Luv ur energy:-)
Thanks! :D
For some reason the Nourish and Shine give me shrinkage???
Interesting! :D well that's not necessarily a bad thing as long as it's not knotting up :D
❤️❤️❤️❤️
:D
im struggling to define my hair type
Tommi Welling Hey! Define as in curl definition or figure out your hair type?
I have Jane Carter's Nourish and Shine. I don't care for it. I didn't know I cld use it on my skin. So I'll try it that way. It seems too dry and hard. It's not for me. Maybe I got a bad batch. It's too costly to try any of her other products.
Yeah it may have been a bad batch.... the one I have is really smooth and not hard at all :/ It could also be affected by the climate... possibly?
I don't know. I'm in Houston. There's always humid days. It must be from a bad batch. :). Thx for answering this. I love ur posts--as I've said before. Keep up the good work.
Thanks!!
Teresa Seals please e-mail us at info@janecartersolution.com about your dry and hard Nourish & Shine, a picture would be helpful. Also, you can pop it in the microwave for 15 seconds, then put it in the fridge for 10 minutes and it will be as good as new!
I mean GREAT lol...
That's great! Since I cowash I was checking out the conditioners she offer... I hoped it could double as a leave in lol
For $15 she better have it lol
LOL!
