      Thats what I though listeting to maida vale 2. They sounds so much better than in the golden and grey record, so thats why I'm here. The guitar work is on another level

      Facts, extremely talented group with great chemistry. Gina rules on lead and is a fantastic backup vocalist, Seb is an absolutely killer drummer, Nick is a very good quality bassist and then John is just an incredible all around musician obviously. This lineup live is glorious.

      It took him some time to settle into the band, but then he became this incredibly heavy human drum and bass machine. He's the highlight of the band for me atm, which a is a lot considering Gina is also in it.

      And that doesn't take away the fact that all these smartphones are very annoying and spoil the concert.
      It's a very selfish and individualistic behaviour. It's the opposite of what a concert is all about.

    Fender combo amps and single coils, and they still sound heavier than most bands using full stacks and active pickups.

    Sounding heavy as hell with those single coils and Fender combo amps. Proof that you don't need high gain to sound huge.

      It's okay now.
      Peter preferred Les Paul type guitars with humbuckers which made the whole mix more full.
      I think the setup as it is now is a little too thin for songs from older albums.

      March To The Sea, particularly, didn't fit the Les Paul / Tele combo - the guitars are playing two notes of the same chord in the verses but when they're that tonally different it always felt off

    Still blows my mind that they get such a big, heavy sound from small Fender combos and single coils! Forget EMGs and fulls stacks, this is how you do heavy guitar music ladies and gentleman!

      Interesting how many people equate single coils with "sounding thin". Realistically they're just as beefy as buckers, they just don't have the additional wooly baggage. For this sort of music it works wonders as all the lead riffs are super cutting and the rhythm is nice and crisp.

    The Purple album was my introduction to them...then the back catalog had me from the beginning. From diverse lineup changes, to unlikely matches of personal genres...this band has made Gold and Grey simply hair raising to add to the finality of the color records...

    Yo, this sounds great, especially for a live recording! This version of Seasons sounds better than the album! Gina's voice adds a lot to the older songs, too.

    I can't express how lucky I was growing up... my first show, I was 12 years old... Baroness was still Johnny Welfare and the Paychecks.. now here they are. John graduated from the same high school as me

    My backyard is bigger than this! Come play at my house! Haha. These guys rock. I've met John and Pete a few times and they were cool dudes. Very nice to the fans. Saw them live with Gina and she did a great job also. Awesome band.
