this the part when big 100 inches 4k TV is a big competition for this kind of projector , better contrast , better brightness, better delivery of HDR and Dolby Vison and you pay less. This projector cost 4,000 dollars without the ALR Screen
No one just buys the screen. You’d have to bundle it to save. AWOL now has an entire bundle of the 3000 lumen projector + 100 inch motorized, rising ALR screen + a new “vision station” cabinet that contains the screen and projector all for currently $5,800. And it’s only going to get cheaper over time.
Everyone keeps comparing projectors to 100" tvs... Projectors can go to 150. They also don't weigh over 100lbs, will definitely last longer, easier on the eyes, and have 3D. Do you go to the theaters for the best picture quality?
@@tlothompson6935 I never wrote that a 100-inch TV is better than a 120 or 150-inch projector, don't distort my comment. I said it will be a great competitor in the sense that there are people who do not like the image of a projector and there are also people who prefer a projector to feel more the immersion of a commercial cinema and for me the fact that there is competition is good because both manufacturers Projectors and TVs give their best every day so as not to be left behind in terms of image and sound quality. In the end, we as consumers are the ones who win.
Tha KS for watching. The AWOL has better focus in the corner areas whereas the ForMovie always seemed to struggle in the top right corner. The ForMovie also has Android TV, which can be a bit slow and buggy at times. Other than that, the picture on both are great, it just comes down to the little nuances.
To get proper 3d you need a file format called MVC or a proper 3d blue ray... that way you get proper 1080p per eye. Get a Zidoo box, so as to play back MVC files properly :)
This is like all other domestic DLP projector: single-chip, which means, depending on viewer sensitivity, program type, and viewing conditions, will ALWAYS produce rainbow effect (RBE) artifact. It's funny and ironic that, while cinema projectors DLP and otherwise are ALL 3-chip to preclude any instance of headache-inducing RBE, ALL domestic DLP is single-chip. The DLP manufacturing monopoly pretends that sensitivity to RBE is non-existent at home. NOT.

NIce Video, very entertaining. I saw you removed a Formovie to put the AWOL 3000 Pro, what one has a better picture?

Too bad nobody makes 3D content anymore
Too bad indeed because there are a few movies in recent years that could benefit from being in 3-D
It's somewhat making a comeback because of the Apple Vision Pro, but it's all digital, not discs. Hopefully, it'll propagate down to other formats.
@@sharksbean definitely
@@joeyyung911 3D is different from VR, you can't make VR movies
Check out 3D Film Archive which is issuing classic 3D 1950s films in 3D blu-ray.
The projector looks obnoxious without 3d glasses but dammm its cool

na 3d has been dead for years
pawn shops could not even sell 3d movies you could buy the 3d movies for only 2 dollars ea
3D is not even close to being the highlight of this setup.
Sorry, but it's really useless to demonstrate 3D
