This quilt as you go I've used a template to quilt with. I have really enjoyed this.
I saw this quilt from 3 dudes on Sew Man. I changed it a little using black strips between the 4 ) 8" blocks that make big 15 3/4" blocks. I thought it looked more rich.
I learned this particular top strip QAYG from Poole TV. I like this method a lot.

Thank you so much… I purchased them at JoAnn’s …. Since then I’ve made 10” squares so I could use the 2 1/2” jelly roll…works great! I did use the scraps I cut off to make cards… glued the pieces to card stock… they looked awesome!

I am trying to make a quilt like this but if you are cutting 3 - 12" blocks how does it become square if it's not 12" across? I always get 14 1/2" across instead of 12" and that does not work when I turn it. I was never good at math so...)) I thought I had to make 3 blocks the same length as the width.

It may be because my black strips were only 1” instead of 2” ... yes it should be width and height same.... a square

Really what ever size your square is it’s ok as long as it’s square.... you can doorways square it up Too.... let me know how it goes....😊
