I had a lot of doubts about the Scooby Doo sets but after watching your reviews I gotta say they look really good, they really stick to the classic cartoons and just have a ton of playability in them. I think Lego did a great job with these and I wouldn't mind seeing more of them in the future
I just hate stickers but that Johnny Thunder one is the BEST!
I've always been a sucker for Egyptian themed Lego.
Nice review Jang. I always look forward at the end of the day to watch some of your videos.
I love that they show that the legendary Johnny thunder was the one to put this "mummy" in this museum.
That Johnny Thunder reference!
wolflordjsww I want them to do a Johnny Thunder reboot!
wolflordjsww And, the hieroglyphics spell LEGO.
wolflordjsww don't forget johnny thunders son was in lego dino his name was Josh Thunder
ArchOfWinter they had pharaoh's quest not too long ago
I'm surprised you didn't mentioned Johnny Thunder there in the photograph. Nice little reference.
I personally like the set and the little diorama going on here. Not so troubled by the visibility of the mummy since you'd know it was in there anyway on account of you building it, and the window piece and side pieces make it look more interesting. Definitely a good way to get Scooby-Doo and Shaggy! I like Shaggy's scared face over the frown for his alternative expression big time.
And yeah the sandwich is meant to be bait for a trap.
I agree that the structure itself isnt that memorable, but I was able to use the pieces to build a different set entirely (an underwater Egyptian tomb with the sarcophagus laying horizontally instead of upright so the mummy inside is well hidden). Plus getting the minifigs of those classic characters is great.
this set is such a trowback to the johnny thunder sets, that nice sticker with him on it!
How could Jang NOT mention Johnny Thunder? Johnny Thunder was the first thing my son and I noticed. Adventurers and Time Cruisers are some of our favorite themes. I'm buying this set just because of Johnny Thunder!!
This LEGO Scooby Doo set has the best Scooby Doo in my opinion. :)
Good to see good old Johnny Thunder
+AProudBrony You bronies killed Johnny Thunder
I think somebody may have already mentioned it, but the sticker on the right of the sarcophagus is Johnny Thunder from the Adventurers theme. It's a neat little tribute to some of the older Legos and I hope they include more easter eggs like that in future sets.
This would look nice with the museum that was in that LEGO City SWAT Police set which was released a few years ago. If I ever get this set, I will be putting it with that.
I want that pillar with the picture of Johnny Thunder on it .
I just love how all the monsters in these sets are just disguised people.
Martin Drkoš cuz it's scooby doo
gotta be able to play and have you catch the suspect
I know that. Just saying that it is a great detail.
I love Scooby Doo and I love ancient Egypt, so I love this little set! I am considering getting it, just to put it on display.
To be honest, I LOVE this set. I can't think of anything bad about it.
the sandwich is like a bait
I just got this set today along with batman and penguin face off love both sets!
Did anybody notice the Johnny Thunder Easter egg on one of the hieroglyphs.
First thing I noticed
Did you know that the hieroglyphics spell Lego
Derpy Sombrero Oh that's an *awesome* easter egg!
JANGBRiCKS there's also the Johnny Thunder cameo on the right pillar picture......are you familiar with the Orient Expedition/Adventure line from 1998-2005?
JANGBRiCKS I think the only reason this set is not too good (I think so too) , is because they couldn't do anything different for the set, because if they took a lesser known villain, it wouldn't be as great as a collectible. Yes it could have been better, but it's a small set, so they can't include too much.
dAN Wolff Holy cow, that series was pretty awesome back in the day.
I remember that episode of scooby doo it's one of my favorite episodes
Love the johnny thunder reference
Is that a picture of Johnny thunder on the wall??!' :D
[Ids5621-Retro] Yes. There is another easter egg (hieroglyphics spell LEGO)
I think the gems are supposed to be in the sarcophagus, because if you look at the printed tile in Shaggy's hand, it seems that the picture shows the gems in the sarcophagus.
I love you jang!!!!
ooh this makes me appreciate lego even more:) no only are they so versatile in their element designs that elements from other themes can be plopped into new ones seamlessly (mummy was from the collectable minifigure series and the ehaddress and sarcophigus from the orignla adventurers line) but the plot elements as well:D (Adventurer's Johnny Thunder was the archeologist that found the mummy)
this is not just a system this is a universe:D
I think the gems are intentionly ment to be put on the outside of the mummy's tomb, and they get stolen. So the proffesser hides them under the display.
you all know that the old iconic lego adventurer Jonny Thunder is one the right piller
I think this set could be placed inside the museum (set 60008) for a nice improvement on the interior.
I really like this set
So this confirms that Lego Adventurers is in the 1920s? Based on the photograph that is.
I think the hamburger is there because shaggy or Scooby-Doo might find it and try to jump and reach it, and when they pull on it they accidentally release the mummy :)
This set is nice because we can get those minifigs without spending all of our money!
I think I might get this set for two reasons. Well first, I can get the shaggy and scooby do figure cheaply. Second, the set gives a throwback to the Johnny Thunder series Because it has a sticker of Johnny and the Egyptian style to it. And Egyptian styles and mummies were very popular in Johnny thunder. Good review!
got the set two days ago. I really do like it
Love it
The gems are in a triangle. ILUMINATI CONFIRMED.
Did you see those 3 triangles on the top of the building? Triple Illuminati Confirmed!!!
Can't wait till these sets are officially released tomorrow (August 1st I think). I better open up my savings. :)
KCFilms They are .......... like 3 days all ready
wariorgeden I think that all depends on where you live.
***** Where do you live because i saw a russian version american one and one from a brit Sooo
when you said the set is not that great I agree with you
Hi Jang! Thanks for the great review! Did you know that the hieroglyphs underneath the minifig on the sarcophagus actually read "LEGO"? My friend works at a museum and verified this!
so cool
I personally would use just a transparent flat little rounded one piece to represent the power/possession what have you.
PS. I love the 60's-ish music you used in the background to go along with this.
And youtube still is not letting me put spaces in my comments...and it kicked me out when I was wrighting that so I had to wright it twice.
Im getting this set
so good
JANGBRiCKS the one on the pillar is johnny bullthunder another easter egg
i think there's a hamburger attached to the chain so shhagy could free the mummy as a trap.
I would only get this for the johnny thunder sticker.
Is it just me or does the archeologist sticker on the one pillar actually look like Johnny Thunder?
SwiftpawWolffox That's because it is Johnny Thunder, no offence, or were you being sarcastic?
They should make Scooby doo minifigs
Johnny Thunder crossover!
ya bro! orient expedition easter egg
really small, but still a nice set
HI Mr. Brick you could put a brown stud on the chain and make it look like a Scooby-Doo snak this is Gracie Hill =)
jangbricks what are u gonna do next for lego today nor tomorrow
Johnny Thunder!
Lol that mummy is me
Cool did you reliaz that Scooby had one printed face on he
Mummy doesn't like Scooby Doo. No really, she doesn't, but I do.
Johnny thunder!
Cool
it the only set that kids will be able to buy with their allowance.
I looks cool
its the cheapest one don't expect huge things about it
why arent we getting lego scooby doo games?
I like scooby doo
Hey Jang how much money is this set us currency
They could of made it " the big set "
Unfotuneatly they aren't in Europe
Scooby Dooby Oh
Does anyone know what the hieroglyphs mean?
As far as I know they all spell ,,Lego".
👌🏿
I like all the the other scooby doo sets bet this is pathetic to me cuz in the other sets theres a bit more mysteries and this only has one
I agree, this is my least favorite of the Scooby-Doo sets. The others have a lot of possibilities and creativity for playability while this one just doesn't have much of that. Mystery Plane Adventures is way better than this set in my opinion.
.
P
I'd get this set for the pieces! Cause I think this is the worst set out of all Scobby doo!
meh.
I hate how you say bad things about the sets !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TheBeast41004 Then don't watch my reviews, because I will always do my best to offer balanced evaluations of the good *and* bad aspects of products. These are reviews, not advertisements :)
For a small set, I like it! One of the cheapest ways to get three great minifigs. For someone who likes the idea of museums or ancient Egypt, I think it's a pretty quant vignette - even in the absence of Scooby Doo minifigs. Thanks for the review, Jang
