+JANGBRiCKS I view this as a modular and in terms of that the Brick Bank is my overall favorite although I think this is overall an impressive build with some interesting builds and just great parts for custom creations. I see your issues with the structural integrity though. I can't wait for you to break this down and use for your own customs however. Is that what you are planning JANG?
+JANGBRiCKS I love the little details, for example the trash can on the sidewalk, it's so simple but it looks totally great. There are tons of other details like that. I'm often impressed what you can accomplish with lego.
I think this building should be condemned. There's serious metal fatigue on all the load bearing members, the wiring is sub-standard, it's completely inadequate for our power needs, and the neighborhood is like a demilitarized zone.
I haven't bought a Lego set in years and if I did, it would be Technic. The fact that I just watched a 20 minute video on a set I will never buy and probably never see in person speaks to the quality of your work. The attention to detail combined with the natural (but coherent and concise!) narration is just superb. Your videos are entertaining for their sheer excellence. Well done, Jang.
Outstanding set, inside and out. I highly recommend the third-party LED lighting kit that really brings it to life! Putting a green light-up stud inside of the hollow area in Slimer makes a huge difference.
Being an AFOL who lives on the Ghostbuster's franchise, this set is a must-have. I'm not worried about any of the problems... I have been building my own fire house headquarters for decades. This will have a place of honor in my home.
The iffy back aside (which is a necessary compromise for the flip-open feature I suppose) and the precarious construction of the structure overall, this set is pretty well-designed. The amount of ingenuity on the construction of the interior design and furniture especially shows how much potential these construction bricks can achieve.
I think the hair piece for Lewis is perfect for the possessed version of him, but perhaps an alternate hair piece included would have served the set well for a normal version instead of the "contraption on his head" look.
I like the little note on the message board (behind the second desk on the ground floor) that says 'RIP H.R.', paying tribute to the late and great Harold Ramis.
If this wasn't a 350$ set I may consider buying it. I understand why it costs so much, because of all of the detail, but for me I just want the exterior to the building to use as a fire station. Great review! I had no idea the back of the set was so ugly looking!
+BRICKLOVER18 LEGO® VIDEOS it requires oil to to make Lego bricks, and the supply for oil is very limited and the demand for it is very high. Besides, the set is cheap for the amount of pieces it comes with. Usually 4,600 pieces equals to about $450 in not more. It's the third largest Lego set ever, right after the Taj Mahal and the UCS Millenium Falcon
+Seth Gonzalez as I said in my comment, the set is a good price for all of the details of the set on the inside! These details can be appreciated by the fans of the movies, but I am not a fan of the movie so $350 is too much for me to spend on a set for just the outside.
I love all the amazingly intricate details in this set. However, like you said in the video that gap on the side is very annoying and it bothers me you can't fit the car in the building without removing things!
Jang, the best way to fix the lifting roof problem is to replace as many flat tiles under the roof (above the third floor) with regular studded plates and push down. The clutch power will hold it with as much force as the ladder. Worked for me!
Glad to see it wasn't just me that had some issues with the structure. I thought I had somehow messed up on the build. I do love the set though, so many little details showing the love of the series. Shame that Ecto-1 doesn't fit without removing everything but I think it's more of a display piece than a play piece anyway and I like how it looks poking out of the doors
@JANGBRICKS you missed a memorial part at 12:06 to Harold Ramis on the lower left part of the sticker, it states "R.I.P H.R" For him and i was surprised you missed it
This is why JangBricks is the best source for LEGO reviews, who cares if he uploaded it over a month after release, it was well worth it. Not one review for this set, mentioned half of the stuff included as well as the honest pros, cons and experience with the set.
I know that this has not got anything to do with this video but it was the only way i could find to communicate with you . I just wanted to say you have inspired me to build lego, when I came up to secondary school (England ) my friends who once built and played lego with me told me I should grow up ! and only the year before that my teacher told me that I was rubbish at singing . But through all that your videos have been there to cheer me up or remind me what lego is all about and I told my friends that the lego way is not just to be creative but also to respect each other for what they do may it be lego or video games always be positive . And that's what you are , always kind thoughtful and most of all positive ! thank you ! p.s this letter was from vicki angels son Herbie .
Really love the idea of doing retro movie or tv sets, hope they keep doing more like these, the modular diner would be a perfect starting point to create a Seinfeld themed Monk's diner maybe even adding the apartments upstairs for Jerry and Kramer even though it's not accurate it would be great, wish they had of made the Ghostbusters sign on this set double to triple the size too so it stands out a bit more
+Build & Rebuild What I was saying is that on this one, they could have connected all of the floors permanently, and just relied upon the side openings for accessibility. That would have resulted in the best of both worlds. Removing the floors barely adds any extra access, it just lets in a little extra light from above.
Great review. I felt the same way about the structural integrity. I hate seeing the gaps under the roof, I'm always pressing it back down. I thought it was fun to build, quite a big project! Enjoyed all the little rooms, kind of like building the Death Star.
Great review! But im a little sad that you didn't go over the Librarians leg piece in more detail, that leg piece looked brilliant with the clear and violet molded plastic, the way it was shaped also looked interesting! So I do wish you had taken more time to go over that piece in particular. But overall, that is my only gripe with this video! Great video though JANG :)
+thelegomasteDevon Thanks for the very reasonable feedback. I didn't cover that piece here, though, because I had already shown it in so many Ninjago reviews last year and also on the Series 14 "Spectre" minifig. This one's just a recolor.
I really only collect Lego Star Wars sets and mini figs, and mainly only watch your Lego Star Wars based Videos! So that is probably why I hadn't seen it!
Freezing Brix Productions Yes, but the four minifiures spun on it's own axis kinda, they didn't spin around eachother, but around them self if you know what im on about :P
Lego did a great job on this set. Suprised about the structural issues, but for a set like this it can't be much to complain about. It's more a thing you put on a shelf to look at anyway, and I don't think anyone wants to pose this with the different sections appart. I won't buy this as it's not what I'm into, but thank you for the review :)
+Lucas Bricks You can just pull it straight up :) The pole is, itself, free to spin at both the top & bottom, so you can reset the handle in about a second.
Nice review, I think it needs a couple of extra dark red hinges (probably hard to find spare ones) to tighten up the large wall and may a few extra contact studs for the roof to attach better.
"GO GET HER RAY!" Really cool set, but don't know if I'll get it... I really like the mini-figs, but it seems like more of a GB2 hair do for Louis Tully. Thanks for sharing!
I went to the fire house in new york. It's closed, but theres a door on the side WITH A MAIL SLOT so you can look inside. It's really cool, and this set is REALLY accurate.
If I ever buy this set, I will remove everything from the garage to use it as a fire station. My 29 stud long fire truck won't fit with all the details
This is one of the very few sets that doesn't really look like lego at first glance, there aren't many exposed studs and it looks like just a normal toy at first. It's also odd that it actually closes up with no exposed sides, it just feels like an actual full set, great job lego.
Thanks for your wonderful full review. I had been waiting for it - I have watched other reviews in the mean time, but I thought that yours was the most well-rounded and fair. I really appreciated your comments about the un-photogenic back part of the building (it is really ugly and I bet some fans definitely shell out extra $$$ to fix it). I also appreciated your analysis on its structural integrity. Indeed these are the sorts of comments that I have come to expect from your reviews, and you didn't disappoint! I wished you had demonstrated how to lay a minifig on those tiny (but ridiculously good-looking) beds! Thank you again for the time you spend on your reviews and editing your videos. May I ask if you will consider also reviewing the Friends line (my little girl has been waiting for your 2016 Friends reviews as we have exhausted all your previous ones). She said that we should not buy anything until we see what Uncle Jang has to say about it.
I think this look is sort of interesting to see how the version I made when I was a kid compared. I had only the two walls that would have been seen from the street with the other 2 open, allowing for play. I had built an Ecto-1 first, and then rebuilt the first floor to accommodate the ecto, before just sizing it down altogether.
Love this set but I have the same complaints as you. Really wish that the support beams held the floors together much stronger and I'm not a fan of the warping. I wish the car actually fit but I understand that some things had to change in order to keep the thing from being a bit overboard in size. The build was a blast, the attention to detail was outstanding and my younger self would have killed for something like this as a kid. Thankfully, I'm not against collecting as an adult and the set is now proudly displayed on my shelf. Great review, as always!
I wish there was a ghostbusters game like batman Arkham knight and you can play as any ghostbusters and when you drive around you get a radio call saying there is a ghost on a street and you need to go there and capture it
it's a great looking display set with many excellent details. Display not play unless you just open it up from the sides. Thanks for this review Jang. love your video's :-)
Thank you for your great reviews. Very useful! This looks like it would integrate well with the creator modular buildings. Is the side walk of a similar width. I like its architecture and makes a good contrast from the other creator buildings.
really good set and your channel for me is the best i saw nearly all your lego rewiews.lego star wars or lego city or lego batman or anything from lego has to be you.GOOD LUCK!from poland
What are your thoughts about this set, good & bad?
+JANGBRiCKS I view this as a modular and in terms of that the Brick Bank is my overall favorite although I think this is overall an impressive build with some interesting builds and just great parts for custom creations. I see your issues with the structural integrity though. I can't wait for you to break this down and use for your own customs however. Is that what you are planning JANG?
This set looks great to me but i havent seen the movie yet so i cant really compare it to the real thing but amazing video anyway :)
+JANGBRiCKS
I love the little details, for example the trash can on the sidewalk, it's so simple but it looks totally great. There are tons of other details like that. I'm often impressed what you can accomplish with lego.
+JANGBRiCKS I think the set is not good, it's GREAT it's so cool they made this set, also there is a new Ghostbusters movie coming out this july, 15
jangbricks I like this set
I think this building should be condemned. There's serious metal fatigue on all the load bearing members, the wiring is sub-standard, it's completely inadequate for our power needs, and the neighborhood is like a demilitarized zone.
Well quoted, sir.
+Sharp Shot EFX We'll take it. Hey! We should sleep here tonight.
well.. Ray likes the pole so.. I guess we'll take it.
Yep
YAS.
This is My favorite lego set of all time!
This took me 3 days to build. My neck is sore, but the Ghostbusters and Lego fan in me is so happy
FireRising86 im guessing ur not happy about the figures that they included then, it should have been the original for sure
This set restored my faith in Lego, the details the build team put in this set such as the refrigerator and toaster are great! Nice review, Jang
Why did you lose faith in Lego?
I haven't bought a Lego set in years and if I did, it would be Technic. The fact that I just watched a 20 minute video on a set I will never buy and probably never see in person speaks to the quality of your work. The attention to detail combined with the natural (but coherent and concise!) narration is just superb. Your videos are entertaining for their sheer excellence. Well done, Jang.
I'm sick and this just makes me feel better
Outstanding set, inside and out. I highly recommend the third-party LED lighting kit that really brings it to life! Putting a green light-up stud inside of the hollow area in Slimer makes a huge difference.
Wow! The level of detail on the enterior is awesome!!
My favourite Lego set of all!
There isn't often a lego building set that is so complete and structured
Being an AFOL who lives on the Ghostbuster's franchise, this set is a must-have. I'm not worried about any of the problems... I have been building my own fire house headquarters for decades. This will have a place of honor in my home.
Thats slime on the bathroom floor? I just thought someone had bad aim XD
When there something strange in the legohood who you're gonna call GHOSTBUSTERS
I love the slime effect on the sidewalk lol.
This set looks amazing to be honest. Their is a TON of little details which really bring the set to life. :) Looks amazing!
Great, it's so authentic and brilliant in using the pieces to make it look realistic.
Thanks for taking the time to build and review all this, great job!
The iffy back aside (which is a necessary compromise for the flip-open feature I suppose) and the precarious construction of the structure overall, this set is pretty well-designed. The amount of ingenuity on the construction of the interior design and furniture especially shows how much potential these construction bricks can achieve.
This set is so good i already wrote it on my christmas list
I think the hair piece for Lewis is perfect for the possessed version of him, but perhaps an alternate hair piece included would have served the set well for a normal version instead of the "contraption on his head" look.
This could be used as a normal fire house in you city
I like the little note on the message board (behind the second desk on the ground floor) that says 'RIP H.R.', paying tribute to the late and great Harold Ramis.
If this wasn't a 350$ set I may consider buying it. I understand why it costs so much, because of all of the detail, but for me I just want the exterior to the building to use as a fire station. Great review! I had no idea the back of the set was so ugly looking!
+BRICKLOVER18 LEGO® VIDEOS what you could do is buy all the exterior peices of bricklink and build it using the online instructions
+The Poopy Gamer! That would cost a lot of money also
+BRICKLOVER18 LEGO® VIDEOS it requires oil to to make Lego bricks, and the supply for oil is very limited and the demand for it is very high. Besides, the set is cheap for the amount of pieces it comes with. Usually 4,600 pieces equals to about $450 in not more. ***** like i said just bricklink for the parts of the outside and build ONLY the outside for 100-200
WE GOT ONE!!!!!
WOW, an incredible amount of detail! The misses would never let me get this... so I'm living vicariously through these detailed review videos. ;)
My kids are going to have so much Lego!
Awesome review! I love how deeply you analyzed this set!
I love all the amazingly intricate details in this set. However, like you said in the video that gap on the side is very annoying and it bothers me you can't fit the car in the building without removing things!

Right after the Disney Castle, *this* is my favorite Lego set!
I know that this has not got anything to do with this video but it was the only way i could find to communicate with you . submit that to lego ideas
7 Hours! Bringing back my memories of putting together that Millennium Falcon. Totally worth it though. :D
Here's to Jangbricks, his reviews are as solid as the models (well some models)
it's nice to see an unbiased review of sets :)
youve gotta love the detailing inside :) the arcade machine, fridge all that sorta stuff :)
Extraordinary,sir. That was extravagant.
Which would you rather have, extra stability or lots of accessibility? You would have to sacrifice one for the other. Just sayin'.
+Build & Rebuild What I was saying is that on this one, they could have connected all of the floors permanently, and just relied upon the side openings for accessibility. That would have resulted in the best of both worlds. Removing the floors barely adds any extra access, it just lets in a little extra light from above.
JANGBRiCKS I understand. I think LEGO was just trying to make it more of a modular building for some reason.
+JANGBRiCKS hey jang ur great would love to meet u
Jang thanks for reviewing this set
It's So Realistic. I LOVE IT!!!
I think it’s a great set
Just discovered your channel. It's fantastic and so professional.
This set looks great - really appreciate the detail you've gone into
JANGBRiCKS you are the only RUclipsr I know that answers comments regularly and I love that and your channel
Great review. I felt the same way about the structural integrity. I hate seeing the gaps under the roof, I'm always pressing it back down. I thought it was fun to build, quite a big project! Enjoyed all the little rooms, kind of like building the Death Star.
I saw this at big W the other day and the box was massive.
only 21 minutes? I'm impressed Jang.
Great review! But im a little sad that you didn't go over the Librarians leg piece in more detail, that leg piece looked brilliant with the clear and violet molded plastic, the way it was shaped also looked interesting! I really only collect Lego Star Wars sets and mini figs, and mainly only watch your Lego Star Wars based Videos! So that is probably why I hadn't seen it!
How do you do that indidivual minifig showcase spinning thingy? Do you use some kind of gear or something? Maybe you could make a video on it :)
+Håkon Bøen I 'd like to see the studio Jang records the videos, with all these tricks!
+Håkon Bøen he has talked about that before. Just look up his videos
He uses a lazy susan. Its pretty handy.
Freezing Brix Productions Yes, but the four minifiures spun on it's own axis kinda, they didn't spin around eachother, but around them self if you know what im on about :P
The imperial star destroyer's cannons moved like them.
Why are there just 3 beds and 3 lockers? Aren't there 4 Ghostbusters?
13:44 that fire pole goes down forever
This set proves how a play set can look great.
I got the set it's fun to play with
I like the coffee maker, toaster, the out door dust bin, the beds and the tubber wear boxes and the fire extinguisher
It's a nice touch that the firehouse location on the map matches up with the location of the real Hook & Ladder.
Lego did a great job on this set. Suprised about the structural issues, but for a set like this it can't be much to complain about. It's more a thing you put on a shelf to look at anyway, and I don't think anyone wants to pose this with the different sections appart. I won't buy this as it's not what I'm into, but thank you for the review :)
one of those sets worth having just to set of a shelf. it's got that radness appeal
Nice review and set! For the fire pole, can you just pull the grey pice up or do you have to twist it all the way back up? :)
Twist
+Lucas Bricks You can just pull it straight up :) The pole is, itself, free to spin at both the top & bottom, so you can reset the handle in about a second.
wont work the fire pole could be painted because it does not go with the set
+JANGBRiCKS are you going to put this in your in your jang city
he already did lady
Nice review, I think it needs a couple of extra dark red hinges (probably hard to find spare ones) to tighten up the large wall and may a few extra contact studs for the roof to attach better.
Great set really adds to a lot of cities
This set is AWESOME!!
Great, detailed review. I only wish everything was printed but by having stickers it allows one to use pieces for other builds.
This set is definitely going on my birthday list
Thanks for the thorough review! Might have to pick this one up.
The little bathroom is especially cool!
"GO GET HER RAY!" Really cool set, but don't know if I'll get it... I really like the mini-figs, but it seems like more of a GB2 hair do for Louis Tully. Thanks for sharing!
I just got this set a few days ago, I just finished up bag 11! So far, I love it!
I went to the fire house in new york. It's closed, but theres a door on the side WITH A MAIL SLOT so you can look inside. It's really cool, and this set is REALLY accurate.
6:22
Where's Ernie Hudson's locker
"Things will still shift around in strange ways"
Would you say.. that there's something strange in your neighborhood?
If I ever buy this set, I will remove everything from the garage to use it as a fire station. My 29 stud long fire truck won't fit with all the details
This is one of the very few sets that doesn't really look like lego at first glance, there aren't many exposed studs and it looks like just a normal toy at first.
It's also odd that it actually closes up with no exposed sides, it just feels like an actual full set, great job lego.
In my opinion, this is the best LEGO set ever.
It took me 2 years, but I finally got it. It only took me 7 hours to do it
that set is so awesome
this is basicaly a doll house
but you know, one that men can enjoy
Jangbricks your channel is really fun it is my favorite
Thanks for your wonderful full review. I had been waiting for it - I have watched other reviews in the mean time, but I thought that yours was the most well-rounded and fair.
I really appreciated your comments about the un-photogenic back part of the building (it is really ugly and I bet some fans definitely shell out extra $$$ to fix it). It looks amazing! But it's too pricey for me :(
Me too. But I think it i not too difficult to get those money
FINALLY JANG!!!!
I wish there was a ghostbusters game like batman Arkham knight and you can play as any ghostbusters and when you drive around you get a radio call saying there is a ghost on a street and you need to go there and capture it
10:37 Oh boy! I love me some Triple-Exclamation-Mark cereal!
it's a great looking display set with many excellent details.
I think its cool that Lego is making sets of older tipe of stuff
He should make a theater custom
You are the best Lego reviewer ever :)
Thank you you made get into my hobby back
Very cool and awesome looking!
I'm getting this set no matter what I have to sell
awesome review Jang!!!
Easily Legos greatest set ever built.
Keep up the good work
awesome set
Best set ever
