Hi Jim - What was the wind speed ? and how much do you weigh ? Like 15kts and 1.80 for 85kgs ??? I've bought myself a brand new (old stock) formula board with full 10.5 rig (plus a 12m2 Gaastra Vapor) with masts etc. I'm no longer worried about SPEED and being the fastest !!!! 🙂 Its all about the fun of gliding over flat water now. Getting older. Cool video. It's allowed me to see some technique. Thanks. PS: Hand in water at the end: May look cool but it's a sure recipe for a pancake and a damaged nose ...
@@Team33Team33 cool man. I am only 65kg. I avoid saying what the wind strength is because it is very tricky at this spot. It is about 15kts gusting 17kts this day. Anywhere else I would be seriously overpowered and unable to sail this kit in that wind strength. Because the wind comes over sand dunes it gets a lot less and has holes in it. Wind shadows. So, really it is more like 10-13kts here I’d say. So far I got 23.5kts gps speed on a windier day with 47cm carbon fin and 7.5. Not going to get any speed records but it is feel good sailing. Goal is to progress toward minimum speed loss. I’d like to work up to the best 1hr average speed possible on it. I imagine these boards with 10 or 12 sail in light winds would feel amazing. Trying to keep my kit to a minimum at this point so I don’t have bigger than 8.5.
@@JimsWindsurfing Fine. You must also like the guys who drive around with small waveboards on their cars and who rig them only to leave them on the beach all day and complain about the wind ... LOL. Seriously: You will ruin your board and "looking" cool (what you think is cool) isn't cool ... Good luck though in your endeavours to drag your hands.
This spot looks very good. Lucky windsurfer ! We enjoy it. Thanks
Beautiful. And the music suits the cool vibe
