this show is weird. it poked at real issues but made sure to make them non issues at the same time. Just odd.

@@beetrootformyroots isn’t that the point though? how jaheim (especially as a darkskin man) suddenly is super desirable to a white girl to experiment which is sadly common.. and abby is very a common example of a mixed person being closer to their white side + only being around white people. this isn’t meant to be a rude comment btw im just genuinely curious

⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@beetrootformyrootsAbby hiding her Black side was explained. She grew up with her White dad and her mom passed away, so she aligned herself with the people around her. What more do you want? She also addressed wanting to become more cultured. The show wrote the characters to be realistic. They kinda addressed Jaheim being sexualized too, but maybe they’re leaving room to discuss more in season 2.
