(at least one of my most favorite, along with Carl Palmer, Keith Moon, Jon Bonham, Pierre van der Linden, Neil Peart, Barriemore Barlow, Bill Broford, Terry Bozzio, and everyone else I forgot to mention! 😅 ) Ian's solo here sounds a lot like Carl Palmer's solos, I'll assume they might have influenced/inspired each other and/or had the same core idols/influences like Buddy Rich etc.? 👌💖👍

However, as much as I like him, there are still such jazz drummers who are on a different level. Look at this link of the Dutch drummer Jansen (1937-2008), I put it on purpose, because both of them are left-handed, I believe you will notice the difference.

Apparently Ian Paice is the only member of Deep Purple that can't be replaced.

Paice is great, but to be honest it would be more interesting if the camera would go around to film what the other members was doing while Paice was performing. Nice to see Blackmore clapping in the end.

Happy 75th birthday to the drum legend! According some memories, in the public of this exactly concert (Copenhagen 1972) was some 9 y.o. Danish kid called Lars... and the rest is another music history you all know very well...
