Nora and Ben Bobbleheads!! 😆 I love the H&W Shirt, Stay warm, its been cold here in the UK too. (Not quite -9 though!) "Thats what she said" haha love that line!
Battleship Titanic. Awesome. You sir have just the right amount of attention to detail for this project. Very interesting to watch how this unfolds! Masterful work so far.
Hi Ben, now this is what I'm talking about! I have the complete sets of PE, both the hull and the upper superstructure. I am now thinning the hull and opening up the portholes to accept the PE sections. You have come to the same conclusion as I have on this so that is reassuring for me! Thanks for that! My additional complication is that I need to modify the PE sheets to a new window arrangement too as I am modelling the Olympic circa 1930's! Nicely detailed video so good job! 😉👍 (Shapeways Grand Staircase mods coming today)!
I would purchase 2 in XL. I like when there is a small logo on the upper left front of the shirt and a large logo on the back. (Just saying). Great work on the Titanic. I enjoy every minute of the build.
Coming along nice. I did recently buy three new 1/700 British battleships. Queen Elizabeth, Warspite, and Barham. And though I don't have the room or money for 1/200 ships, I do enjoy watching builds of them.
I’ve asked Trumpeter to make a 1/200 scale USS Fletcher. Because then people in your situation would have room for them. Hopefully we will have one in the next year.
@@TheMidwestModelShop I've been thinking of upgrading my entire collection of model ships from 1/700 to 1/350. For one reason or another, Trumpeter's 1/350 kit of Bismarck is like $250 on Amazon. For that price, I can almost get the 1/200 version.
@@TheMidwestModelShop A 200 scale Fletcher would be very interesting to me. We’ve got the USS Kidd not far from us and I have a friend who’s father served on the USS Johnston.
I picked that ship because they built 177 of them, I believe. So there are LOTS of options to build the “one” you want or the one a family member served on.
Ben, awesome job. Even the professionals make boo boos! I'd love to order a Harland & Wolff shirt. Would be interested in seeing the design of the Midwest Model Shop shirt. I really like how you are working out the lighting on your build. In short, your work is stunning.+
You know I started watching this build for some good tips and soon realized your way beyond realistic for most builders. You say your NOT A RIVET COUNTER but here you are hacking and sawing for photo etch scale detail.
Great build I'm enjoying the progress. I would be interested in the Tee's. When do you plan to finish the design on yours? Stay safe looking forward to the next video.
We are working on them right now. Life is “slowing” the process down a bit. I’ll mention it in videos when the site is up and on FB and Instagram. We aren’t planning on any “limited runs” at the moment.
Hi. First of all, amazing detailing TITANIC. I love your videos. I recently wonder to buy the same as this 1/200 TITANIC. I'm curious are the fibre tube for bottom windows all included in the original model kit? or that is an additional tool you put in ?
Hey Ben. Was there a reason you put together the super structure different. Compare to the instructions? You glue the sides on first then the deck. Is it better doing it that way? Thanks bud and great job as always?
I belong to a model boat club that meets every Sunday morning to sail our models . Someone brought down a model of the Titanic about this length . I can't remember the length of it but it must have been 6 feet or more. The interesting thing was , he complained how bad the steering was , with such a small rudder . I wonder if the full size ship had the same problem ?
Supposedly the real ship was pretty responsive for the standards of the day. While some have reasoned this may have contributed towards the accident, we have to remember it was a cruise ship. It was doing full speed and had about 30 seconds to respond. All considered, it did really well.
I know you all have gone back to your benches and won't even know I snuck in here, but I liked the sound on this video, with the near constant roar it almost sounded like the H&W ship yards in miniature---OK maybe not but ya gotta adapt as much as ya can 😜.
Believe it or not, when I did my 1/350 carrier Ranger, I did it all by hand, as I do all my models. But if I do build larger carriers in the same scale, like Yorktown CV5 and Enterprise CV6, I would get into airbrushing. I don't know anything about it, but I did order Fine Scale Modeler's Airbrushing Models book. Amazon has some nice airbrush kits for under $200. I just don't know which paints to use, or the ratio of paint to thinner.
Yeah. I use that plane and the others they produce A LOT. It’s for serious wood workers or collectors. OR people with more money than they know what to do with. I’ll say this though, they tell you to buy the best tool you can afford. I have never experienced a better block plane at that size. Ever.
That looks like a lot of work for the plastic model Titanic ship I think it would be better to get the agora model Titanic ship out of metal with other nice features
know this is over a year old and I am still watching the series, but hope you blacked out some of the portholes. You'll never see a ship at night with every porthole lit.
@@TheMidwestModelShop Sound fine here Ben. I'm no audio technician and I don't use hadphones but the sound is clear and easily understood, which is all I look for.😁👍
Thanks! I’m getting a wireless lapel mic, regardless. I’ve wanted to do that for a long time. So hopefully I can have “consistent” audio from here on out.
Terrible video, Ben !!! Why? .. Because no sight, nor even sound of Nora!!! 🙁🙁 Just kidding, although Nora’s bubbly, effervescent enthusiasm, humour and interesting, ‘back story’ points IS very much missed. But great progress on the build, and I’m still thoroughly enjoying your mega Titanic project Belated New Years greetings to you guys, and trust y’all enjoyed a great holiday season and are safe, well and managing to stay warm at nearly 10 degrees Celsius below (not even down to freezing here in l’i’ll old Wales right now. 🤪🤪 Stay safe and look forward to the next update. Much love. ❤️❤️❤️
No. I do not like the tshirt. The fact that you even asked how i felt about it offends me to an extent that you would never be able to imagine. Im literally shaking.
I am enjoying watching you do the titanic

I would buy an XL Harland & Wolff T shirt. It’s awesome! Been a fan of Titanic since 1975!
Okay thanks! We are working on the shirts, now.
Battleship Titanic. Awesome. You sir have just the right amount of attention to detail for this project. Very interesting to watch how this unfolds! Masterful work so far.
Thanks Mark! I’m tryin not to get stuck in the weeds and make it interesting at the same time!
Battleship Titanic ! ???
Thanks for the Scale Decks tutorial. It saved me a lot of work.

The way the superstructure fits onto the hull is a reaaal pain, shame they don't have any slots it can fit in :)
Hey Ben. You are doing an amazing job. Love how you adapt to errors. She is coming along nicely.
Yes to T-shirts for sure...large would be the way to go :)
Yes please for a Harland and Wolff shirt. Large would be the way to go. Thanks Francis
Definitely Interested in a H&W and Midwest model shop tees!! I would love 1 of each.

Exactly. And I’m not sure why the 1/350 have gone up so much in price. They have improved the tooling… so maybe that’s it.
Great video! It's moving right along. I would take one of each shirt XL on both.

Looking real nice Ben, love the T-shirt and I'd definitely like one or two. 😜👍

Great video, I love it

Yeah but I have no idea how many rivets are on the photo etch 🤷🏻♂️
Another great video with issues well attended to. Its coming along nicely 👍

Midwest model shop for sure.

Hey Ben. Was there a reason you put together the super structure different. Compare to the instructions? You glue the sides on first then the deck. Is it better doing it that way? Thanks bud and great job as always?
Yes. So I could ensure those side parts were glued to the hull well and because I’m lighting the whole thing my own way and need to go deck by deck.
Thanks, nice job as usual, it's coming along!

Well as a general rule, for mixing thinner to paint, just make sure it ends up the consistency of skim milk. You’ll be good.
Seems like this would be a great time for a jewelers bandsaw..

I would take 2 Each. 2 H&W and 2 MWS . All 4 Large with artwork . Prefered colours Dark grey and dark brown.
".....it would have a made a great battleship....." LOOOL! I laughed.
I would love a great coffee cup......
Funny you should mention that! We could do that too!
Is there anything you can do to improve the audio? It sounds like you talking in a barrel.
Working on it. But you’re the first complaint so it may be your devise.
