Great Video that sums up the good things about Fresno. We visited my Mom for years and finally decided to move to Clovis and coming from San Jose, Ca it is a very welcoming change of pace, granted, my teenager hates it but she is getting used to having new friends plus she is busy with school and all the activities they have, so there is little time to feel sad. Everything you mentiobed about Fresno can be said about Clovis, with the addition that we have a very good school district, so good that makes me want to go back to school. Clovis is even a bigger small city, but being next to Fresno gives up plenty of options, and we are also closer to Yosemite and the Sierras, same distance to the Beach, LA, San Francisco and Wine County. One thing I love about Clovis is that people of all ages are very active, you can see people running, jogging, biking, walking their pets at ALL times of the day, what I love most is seing families of 4-5 members all biking together on a sunny day. We have plenty of parks, none I will say I love the most, but Bicentennial Park is not the most attractive but man does it get people all the time, any day you can drive by and you will see people playing, soccer, volleyball. cricket, flag football, frisbee and softball as well as basketball, literally the only thing it doesn't have is tennis courts. We moved last year and didn't have much opportunity to explore, but we will definitely do it next year.
Really glad you're enjoying your move to Clovis! Personally, I've always considered Clovis to be part of Fresno, even though I know it's not. They share all the same attributes, especially when you look at Northern Fresno and Clovis. Bicentennial Park may not have the tennis courts but you mentioned the great schools. They are usually accessible for everyone to play! My family and I play tennis every Sunday at Clovis North. There are tons of great things that you can do in the area. When you get the chance to, take advantage of them. I'll make a few videos soon covering the different activities available to us in the area. Anything below Shaw Ave is not that great to raise a family. Lotta car break-in even at Savemart Center during events. They stole my friend's car (a student) from Fresno State University parking lot. Houses that are below 300k are not in that "great" areas. The 200k are definitely not in family friendly areas. Clovis is a bit better, but it's spreading east for the reasons of staying away from a lot ghetto people in Fresno.
Moving to Fresno from Bay Area for work. I don't think I'm going to drive 3 hrs to get to a beach or SF even though I love driving but I'm really looking forward to this new experience.

Fancy Fresno! Thanks for the video I just moved up from Los Angeles after taking a crypto consultant job in Fresno these past 8 months. I agree the cost of living is very affordable compared to Sacramento with a lot of Bay area renters and Riverside with a lot of LA renters. Fresno fits right in the middle (pun intended) with surprisingly affordable homes like the one I bought in the Tower District. Besides my crypto full-time job, I also freelance remote as a digital marketer for a LA communication studio so I am part of that crowd. The schools are not an issue as my kids prefer remote learning and they get that in person learning experience when they go to their coding session practice at a private school in one of fresno shopping centers.
Sounds like you picked one of the more fun areas of Fresno to move to! You're definitely part of the crowd that I was talking about. Glad to have you with us! :) Btw, which coding school do you have your kids in?

Lots of Fresno is pretty nasty and run down. Lots of cheap stores, thrift stores.,etc., If you end up driving through poor neighborhoods on weekends it can seem pitifully depressing and dead and dying. Most people like north Fresno cuz it's cleaner. Even so the homeless are there scamming 4 money. When in Fresno plan your activities we'll and you will have fun.
Don’t come to ruin what we have… I don’t like the crazy drivers from out of town and the mentality of the larger city folks. Hello, I loved your video. My family and I are thinking of moving to Fresno from San Clemente. We have seen many videos and we liked yours because it has many positive things. What place would you recommend us to live?
If you can afford to live in Los Angeles or the Bay Area, do so, but Fresno is a hours from those areas. Fresno is good if you have a car and able to afford Air Flights to most large Airports where you can go anywhere in the world.
Good point Dashawn, however, I think that's only a very small reason why rents are going up in our city. Rents seem to be going up everywhere in the US and much of it is due to the same reason home prices have also gone up. I think you should be telling people in Fresno to move to a new home/apartment already
Been in Fresno for over 10 years. I will say that living here is becoming close to impossible due to higher paid bay area/LA individuals moving here. Almost every apartment company disclosed this to me when I was applying. Rent that used to be around 1,100 is now 1,300-1,700 for a one bedroom. After my tech job went permanent remote I moved to Fresno in June 2020 and all I can say I don’t miss my expensive rent in San Francisco at all nor the traffic. Overall Fresno has been a good city for me. I already drove to a tech conference in San Jose, California and still feel connected to Silicon Valley and luckily my neighbor is also a programmer as well haha. Also Luckily my two kids have found a coding place called “Bitewise” to meet other coding kids in the area. Fresno Pros: diversity, liberal, good Chinese/Indian/Mexican food, friendly people, lots of jobs, live music all the time, art scene is awesome (art hop), very dog-friendly, nobody cares what you wear, growing tech town, international airport can fly to SF or LA under an hour which allows me to then fly to Sweden to visit my wife’s family, tons of attractions throughout the city so there's never nothing to do Cons: some traffic nothing like SF or LA tho, might become to liberal oh well lol.
I'm glad you're enjoying Fresno! Traffic is really what got me most when I lived in Long Beach so I'm right there with you...plus ridiculous rent too. Great list of pros and cons too.
Considering buying a house in fresno in the future. I currently live in the inland empire close to riverside and there are no affordable homes that at the very least look nice. 500-600k just for a decent house out this way 🤦 being located between LA and San Diego doesn't help since that drives up the real estate.
I feel your pain Keyon. I thought it was ridiculous when I lived down in LB back in 2012, I can only imagine how much more expensive things are now. 5-600k here will get you a very nice home in a great area. When do you plan on moving?
@@Keyon_Wilson air quality isn't great but I honestly don't think it's as bad as some make it out to be. I've had asthma my whole life and I haven't had any issues with it flaring up while living here. I'd suggest you try to visit for a week or two to see how you feel about it, though

Both are really great cities Gigi. Clovis is like an extension of Fresno that is a little nicer but comparable to the North side of Fresno. Where are you coming from?
I'm born in Fresno love the downtown area Miss club one. Currently in LDR Relationship. So hoping to go Philippines once travel open up. Want to bring my GF over here
Every restaurant sucks, all the produce in most of the grocery stores is rotten which is unbelievable given how much is grown in the valley. I have 3 total restaurants I ever eat at any more because all the rest of them always fuckup the food.
Definitely suggest you check this area out: ruclips.net/video/ZLskjJRGXBk/видео.html In my opinion, it's by far the safest and calmest area in Fresno. Unless you meant...legit leave.
Not as far as I'm aware. From what I've seen, only a very select amount of cities have seen self-driving cars. Hopefully we start seeing that spread out more to everyone!
That can happen, yes! It's interesting, though. I drove a 1991 Civic for a few years and never had an issue with it being stolen but I've known other people who have.
Nothing on your list will ever make me want to move to Fresno. It's the HEAT & BAD air. The air is horrible. Detrimental to your health. Be warn! The amount of ppl w allergy and asthma is high.
Sorry to hear that. I personally find the heat to be very tolerable. The air can be bad but it's nothing extreme either. I had asthma prior to moving to Fresno and I haven't had any issues with it flaring up here. Regularly jogging has made it nearly non-existent. I find that the cold is what causes it to trigger.
Don't go to table mountain casino whatever you do, my subdivision across the street has been on a boil water notice due to contaminated water for the last month. The casino hasn't done anything to make their water safe and they're not telling anyone about it. DONT FUCKING MOVE HERE!!!!!!
I agree, we have definitely seen an increase as of late but this seems to be the case everywhere. I don't think it's to the point that I've felt unsafe living here
I beleive the homelessness issues are a California thing. The weather is tollerble enough to live on the streets. The increased liberalism and lack of community togetherness of big city life leads to people falling through the cracks after they get into drugs and other bad habits.
Dont move to fresno ! This place is horrible there's nothing but crime and violence kids get shot places are constantly robbed the police doesn't do anything about anything we are leaving just as soon as we can if I could have done it yesterday I would be gone already just don't move to this city hell stay out of california period !
I live 20 miles south of Fresno. Maybe at one time it was a good place to live but it's now a crime ridin gangs all over murder is at a all time high. It's a real Hell hole. Please do yourself a Big favor stay as far away from Fresno as possible.
Not sure what Fresno you live in but not as great as you seem to try & make it. I'd rather live in almost any other city than Fresno, California. Js Nice video but should be honest & maybe mention the gangs, crime, homelessness, & drug addiction here.
Thanks for sharing your opinion! I live in central Fresno and am being honest with my experience of it. I've lived in North, Central, and South Fresno and would agree with you completely if what we were talking about was strictly the South side. It's riddled with the issues you bring up, but that's not Fresno at it's entirety. I don't think we should lump an entire city in the red just because one part of it, then every city would be horrible. Thanks for watching and sharing Annie! 🙂

Fresno
Pros: diversity, liberal, good Chinese/Indian/Mexican food, friendly people, lots of jobs, live music all the time, art scene is awesome (art hop), very dog-friendly, nobody cares what you wear, growing tech town, international airport can fly to SF or LA under an hour which allows me to then fly to Sweden to visit my wife’s family, tons of attractions throughout the city so there's never nothing to do
Cons: some traffic nothing like SF or LA tho, might become to liberal oh well lol.
I'm glad you're enjoying Fresno! Traffic is really what got me most when I lived in Long Beach so I'm right there with you...plus ridiculous rent too. Great list of pros and cons too.
Didn’t Fresno used to be a gang land? Are the Bulldogs and the Norteneos still around?
is the highspeed railway still being built!?!??! great thank God.
Well...it's been through some changes...
Appreciate the video good stuff 👍
Thanks for the support Tim!
Very cool positive review I can't wait to go let there
Thanks Ra! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Let me know if you need help maneuvering through here too!
Fresno to Santa Barbara more like 4-5 hours. Pismo is probably the closest.
Agreed. Pismo and Avila is typically where the wife and I go for day trips
@@IAmMarkBeneke Not sure yet. Just been looking around. Only deal breaker for me would be the air quality. Is it as bad as people say?
@@Keyon_Wilson air quality isn't great but I honestly don't think it's as bad as some make it out to be. I've had asthma my whole life and I haven't had any issues with it flaring up while living here. I'd suggest you try to visit for a week or two to see how you feel about it, though
@@IAmMarkBeneke i'll definitely be doing that. Thanks Mark!
@Bee S Well I know plenty of people have different opinions of the city just like anywhere else. What's yours?
You’ve completely sold me! I’m going to make that move!
Alright! 😊 Where are you coming from?
@@IAmMarkBeneke a suburb outside of Atlanta, GA.
@@r.d.hawkins9922 love it! My brother and his fiancee lived in Marietta for a few years before they moved out here with me in 2015.
Let me know when you're planning on making the move and if there's anything I can do to help!
@@IAmMarkBeneke thank you so much!
Check out Madera big homes or clovis
$35k a year, is that each or combined?
That was between the wife and I (combined). For 2022 it was a little higher due to the increased costs we all saw but it came out to roughly 43k
I keep contemplating moving to Fresno or Clovis.
Both are really great cities Gigi. Clovis is like an extension of Fresno that is a little nicer but comparable to the North side of Fresno.
Where are you coming from?
@@IAmMarkBeneke L.A has become a mess as many need to leave.
@@WINNI76 I don't doubt it. LA can be wonderful but it's got a lot you need to deal with. Let me know if you need any help with your move!
Same here
I'm born in Fresno love the downtown area Miss club one. Currently in LDR Relationship. So hoping to go Philippines once travel open up. Want to bring my GF over here
Club one! Yes sir. Hopefully that happens soon. Would she be coming to visit or to stay for good?
@@IAmMarkBeneke hopefully to stay for good. I've shown her parts of central valley. She loves Fresno state and bulldog stadium. I got her hooked
I'm sure it'll be even better when she sees it in person
Every restaurant sucks, all the produce in most of the grocery stores is rotten which is unbelievable given how much is grown in the valley. I have 3 total restaurants I ever eat at any more because all the rest of them always fuckup the food.
Don't planned to move there I lived in San Jose all my life
Haha! Well if you ever do, you know where to find me.
The guy left out one important thing - the high crime rate in Fresno
Trillion*
Facts fresno is dope but it’s notorious for gang activity they put in work there so dont go around thinking everything sweet
help guys what is a safe place to leave in Fresno?
Definitely suggest you check this area out: ruclips.net/video/ZLskjJRGXBk/видео.html
In my opinion, it's by far the safest and calmest area in Fresno. Unless you meant...legit leave.
Don’t forget club one down town Fresno
I just feel like we don't have enough funding for high speed rail
Love Fresno, I grew up there.
Do they have self driving cars out there
Not as far as I'm aware. From what I've seen, only a very select amount of cities have seen self-driving cars. Hopefully we start seeing that spread out more to everyone!
Hopefully
Every dreams are different
Self-driving cars in Fresno = when the driver is passed out drunk.
Earthquakes?
One thing no one told me was how bad they steal older honda civics it didn't even last 2 weeks in fresno...
That can happen, yes! It's interesting, though. I drove a 1991 Civic for a few years and never had an issue with it being stolen but I've known other people who have.
what about newer ones???
Great video! Coming for a visit to decide if we want a perm move (from bay area), this video helped a lot!
I'm glad it helped Brandon! If you need any suggestions while you're here just contact me directly
Isn't there that high speed rail there
The high speed rail is currently being built!
I want to move there. I’m sick of Canada.
It'll definitely be a good change of pace from Canada!
Im movin to fresno im from Canada 🇨🇦 take it back lol
I lived in fresno ca all my life I moved out to salt lake city UTAH about 2 years ago but there's no place like home I'm moving back
I'm currently helping a client relocate from Utah over here too! Snow is not for everyone 😂 Glad to have you back Ricardo
Born and raised in Fresno, can’t wait to move back !!!!
Cant wait to have you back!
Lived from 2003-2006. Never again .
Where are you at now Donnie?
why not?
Nothing on your list will ever make me want to move to Fresno. It's the HEAT & BAD air. The air is horrible. Detrimental to your health. Be warn! The amount of ppl w allergy and asthma is high.
Sorry to hear that. I personally find the heat to be very tolerable. The air can be bad but it's nothing extreme either. I had asthma prior to moving to Fresno and I haven't had any issues with it flaring up here. Regularly jogging has made it nearly non-existent. I find that the cold is what causes it to trigger.
How about crimes, environment living, air quality?
Don't go to table mountain casino whatever you do, my subdivision across the street has been on a boil water notice due to contaminated water for the last month. The casino hasn't done anything to make their water safe and they're not telling anyone about it. DONT FUCKING MOVE HERE!!!!!!
Or building it
Lots of homeless and shootings it's not like it use to be
I agree, we have definitely seen an increase as of late but this seems to be the case everywhere.
Fresno is an armpit town.
Lol I must really like armpits then 😂 Thanks for sharing your opinion
What robots mean by ‘armpit’…? Seriously don’t get it
V&B SPEED FROM FRESNO CA STOP IN SAY HI CHECK OUT A DIFFERENT LOOK THANK U..#2022Drags#Vtec
Show V&B some love!
Where the hell is Caruthers ca
Lol it's about 20-30 minutes South of Fresno
Los Angeles less than 3 hours away? Thats just silly.
Did I say that? My apologies, that is silly. Thanks for correcting that. It's about 3 and a half hours
@@IAmMarkBeneke 😂
Only thing "moving" about Fresno will be your bowels.
Any slot machines I a slot machine kinda guy
Table Mountain is the closest casino and it has tons!
One hundred and....Ten??? 😳
😂 sounds brutal at first but it doesn't even faze you after the first summer.
@@IAmMarkBeneke Hey for what it's worth though, I liked your vibe 👍🏻
@@IAmMarkBeneke pfft. Maybe if you don't work outdoors...🥵
Dont move to fresno ! This place is horrible there's nothing but crime and violence kids get shot places are constantly robbed the police doesn't do anything about anything we are leaving just as soon as we can if I could have done it yesterday I would be gone already just don't move to this city hell stay out of california period !
Thanks for your input Jack! Sorry to hear you're not enjoying your life here. Which area do you live in?
I live 20 miles south of Fresno. Maybe at one time it was a good place to live but it's now a crime ridin gangs all over murder is at a all time high. It's a real Hell hole. Please do yourself a Big favor stay as far away from Fresno as possible.
You only listed pros with no cons. This is misleading.
Thanks for pointing that out! I've actually made a pros and cons video you can check out here: ruclips.net/video/LAN4JNRDWmE/видео.html
Not sure what Fresno you live in but not as great as you seem to try & make it. I'd rather live in almost any other city than Fresno, California. Js
Nice video but should be honest & maybe mention the gangs, crime, homelessness, & drug addiction here.
