    Good day dear scene walker.
It's nice to have you with me on the walk.
This is PART 2 and the continuation of the previous scene (linked in the top right corner of your screen and in the description).
WATCH PART 1: • Snow Walk in a small v...
Can i ask you a little question?
Since PART 1 and PART 2 are filmed with different cameras.
Do you have a preference in terms of overall video quality?
In PART 1 i read some controversy about the use of the term "village".
It is built as a village-like complex, but it is not a self-contained village.
I think a better description would be, a residential community, which is located in the Sundsberg region which is part of the Masala village, which is connected to the municipality of Kirkkonummi.
In recent years, many new residential communities have sprung up in selected locations in Finland.
Usually in places with easy access to highways and public transportation.
The design of the houses is made similar, modern scandic design.
However, Kartanonranta, the name for this community, was not part of the 'Asuntomessut' (Housing Fair).
Asuntomessut is an annual housing fair held at selected locations, promoting new homes often with unique modern design.
With all these new residential communities coming up, you can see that Finland is growing fast and needs expansion.
That has a positive, but also negative impact, by which i mean that forests will have to give way.
I was lucky enough to film at the right time, after a heavy snowfall.
I explored the area 8 months prior to filming so this scene had been on my to-do list for a while 😊
Like many other locations where i wait for the right time.
Thanks for joining (again), i wish you a peaceful and quiet walk through the snowy landscape.
Have a nice day and until the next scene 🙏

The „wild snowplowrus“ really had me ❄️🦖☃️ Excellent footage of a serene Winter Wonderland… the constant snow shovelling would drive me nuts, though 😅🥶

Thanks, glad you enjoyed this, a snow storm the day before turned the place into a beautiful snow paradise.

I find it interesting that all these houses have ladders on them leading up to the roof. I'm assuming this is some kind of fire code or something? Wonderful video!

    • @ScenesBySevy
      @ScenesBySevy  10 месяцев назад +1

That's right, access to the roof is required by law, also useful for clearing snow from the roof.
Thank you, glad you liked this one, fingers crossed for so much snow again this winter 😋👋

Greetings! The Snow walk is stunning! How I Love the Snow! It's beautiful, and thank you for sharing such a delight!
However I agree with you, this new "Scandic Modern Housing" is boring, lacks any type of individuality in design, or any type of personality. I would not desire to live there! I am also saddened at the idea that the beautiful Woody area is cut down for such non-impressionable housing. When you arrive at the Woods area towards the end, the Beauty of it is awe-inspiring!
I will state that the snow does enhance the view of this district......
    All the best......God bless you.

Forests are important to Finns, but when your country is something like 70% covered by them, many of them don't feel that special. This forest is a typical residential recreational area

Hi from subtropical Australia. I never see snow anymore although I grew up in the UK and my memories are that it is beautiful and magical to look at, fun to play in but hell when you have to walk miles to school when the buses are not running. But I think Finland would be a much drier snow and air than damp England.
I was entranced by watching these walks and love seeing the birch trees. I grew up with silver birches along our front path, and they were the first trees I ever climbed. The light is magical and I found it interesting that the light of the sun was apparent somewhere in the middle of this walk and cast a golden glow over the snow. I guess that was probably the middle of your short daylight there in Finland.

    • @ScenesBySevy

Hi Margaret, nice to meet you all the way from Australia!
Winter is my favorite season, i just can't get enough of snowy night walks.
There is all kinds of snow in Finland, it depends on the temperature, there can be powder or sticky sleet.
You're right, this scene was filmed during the lightest time of day, the sun doesn't want to show as often in winter.
Thanks for watching, have a nice day.

Both cameras give excellent quality, though I think I personally like the second one better. I bet the area is absolutely beautiful the rest of the year, too. As for the "controversy" concerning the word village, here in the U.S. we have retirement "villages" which are really nothing more than glorified apartment complexes so no hate from me if you wish to use the term village.

Thanks for your feedback Raven, i think i like this more too.

I personally like winter the most of all seasons, but the southern region of Finland doesn't look like this all winter.
I was lucky enough to have time to film just after a big snowfall had blown over.
Temperatures in southern Finland are now hovering around -1°c to 4°c with lot's of wet snow and rain, making the streets a living soup 🙄

Hi. Why do people put permanent ladders on their homes in Finland?

    • @ScenesBySevy
      @ScenesBySevy  10 месяцев назад +2

Good evening Keith, great question and good eye.
Finnish law stipulates that roof access from outside is possible in case of emergency.
Also useful for getting on top to clear the roof of snow.
Thanks, have a great day 👋

Either camera does a good job for my viewing. Hope this helps you some. Have a beautiful day to all of you Scandinavians!! Illinois, USA

Thanks for your feedback Larry, i'm glad you chose PART 2 as well, it is the heaviest setup (a difference of about 2 KG).
In the summer i prefer to use a less heavy setup, the heat can cause problems if i walk with something very heavy in my hand for a long period of time.
