I’m 72 and this year, for the first time in about 65 years, I’m going to the circus! Wish you were there too, but alas, no. Absolutely LOVE the artwork 😍
The moment you said “this is not part of the original video “I was bouncing in my seat, wondering what treasure you’d found on your walk, lol! your brand is very strong! thank you for all the fabulous tips, like tracing your pattern, a little smaller with the carbon paper. I’ve never tried a project like this, but given how much I adore the finickiness of embroidery, your project is super inspiring 💛
This is stunning! And gave an unexpected cry thinking about my 2020 Christmas away from my parents because they had covid and I was in a miserable place because of burnout and a tough breakup and how my friends took me in and tried to cheer me up and it was heart-warming. Now, living abroad and rarely seeing my family, I can't wait to fly over there in a few weeks and hug them all tight!
Wow. That is so beautiful. What can't you do? So talented. You paint, sew, quilt, renovate, and what else will we see you do. This was just too short. I was just amazed. Would love to see more of your painting and your many talents. Wish you were my friend or lived closer as i would love to learn from you how to do what you do. I do live in St. Paul, so maybe by chance, I may bump into you. That would be my lucky day.
Oh my gosh...what a wonderfully perfect Christmas gift you gave your parents. I, too, am a parent of 3 grown children and I can tell you that your parents will never forget the virtual experience you gave them. Side note, the shelf is so gorgeous.
Oh! That is adorable!!! You chose a fantastic design and your shelf is superb! Can't wait to see what you do with the tiny dresser you and Cannelle found.
So clever to use the carbon paper to transfer your design, I am not a type A person, I am a wing it type, so my items look a lot more homemade! Your everything’s look incredibly professional and that will be why! Xx
Just got home from work, very tired, very chilly, very Monday, ready to curl up under my heated blanket and relax - and open RUclips to the perfect video!
Went to skip the ad read and quickly realized I actually wanted to see your inspiration. Extremely well done, I hope your skills attract lots of advertisers to fun your renovation.
Lovely project!! Great job! I miss painting so much! Chronic pain issues and medication has not allowed me to do much. So I live vicariously through you and other YT creators. I always used old plastic lids from yogurt or Cool Whip containers for my paint pallets. I also used the foam trays used in packaging fresh meat. Both worked really well. If I got lazy and didn’t wash the tray when I was finished, the paint just peeled off when it was dry. I always made my own wood prep/primer for my wood Christmas ornaments. It was made with 50% varnish-50% denatured alcohol. I made it up in small batches. Easy to apply. After a light sanding it made a smooth surface for my acrylic paints. And kept anything from the raw wood, bleeding through. Even the grain. Thank you for sharing your Danish Christmas story on 2020. That was such a thoughtful watch to share time with your family. I’m sure it's a memory they hold dearly.
Dear Shannon, you are such an inspiration! I have a couple IKEA drawer units that are bare wood and deeply in need of painting - now I have an idea of what you would do, and the very much lesser painting that I will do. Thank you!
Thank you Shannon for the Xmas story! You are such a lovely creative person. During Covid I was fortunate enough to be able to still work in the trucking industry however had to get myself tested each time I wanted to go home to see family. Plus my sister was pregnant with my niece during the shutdown & we had to do video chats for their health & well being. Yes, I seem triggered by each video you make on the memories. Just love watching you create! Thank you so much for sharing your life & creativeness!
I just love this content, and the painting you did was just perfect. Of course you found furniture on a walk with your dog lol. Can't wait for the video.
Just to note, Cadmium red is quite toxic so you need to be careful using it. It’s an excellent colour though and mixes very well with other colours to make more great colours.
Wow what a fabulous video! - all your videos are amazing but this one in particular spoke to me on a very personal level. What you said about the design phase switching ppl off - it is so hard to get over this phase, or rather through it - if you have a lot of ideas it can be overwhelming, so thank you for showing us your tools and also the carbon paper technique - it helped a lot of ideas floating about in my brain slot into place on a massive bauble painting project I have become very tired of and even demotivated by... now I have some solutions and strategies of executing the intricate patterns and also streamlining the choice of them. Great job! Thank you xxx Also your shelf thingie turned our so beautiful!! And your 2020 story was so wonderful, I shed some tears 🙂
What a lovely way to relax. You are a very talented lady Shannon. Your letter/key box is beautiful. You've inspired me 😀 I have a little drawer set that I am going to get cracking on. I think in this world we live in we need some relax time to take our minds to a magical place. Thankyou huni for sharing your crafts with us. Much love and blessings to you Phill and Canal ❤
I am absolutely in love with this beautiful peice! 😍 I can completely relate to your love of painting tiny details with tiny brushes. This design is exactly the kind that would capture my attention for way too many hours and I'd be so happy! You did such an awesome job with it! It is so cheerful. I very much enjoyed the story of your Christmas away from home as well. It was wonderful to have you share the way the way Copenhagen came to mean so much to you! ❤
I always admire how industrious you are! I'm creative but tend to procrastinate. Tomorrow is the day I'll start my Christmas crafts, lol. Beautiful craft, Shannon!
So cute! I originally was worried about the light blue, but with the leaf details in the tree, it really brought the piece together. Loved the story about your 2020 Christmas. So sweet!
19:30 My father was a fire fighter, I spent many Xmas dinners at the fire station. As an adult, I chose Food & Beverage/Hospitality as my career. Hotels don't close for holidays. So, yes, I understand!
Your painting skills are incredible! I have zero skill for painting and I'm a fairly decent artist too. I can draw you a picture give you a pretty landscape with oil pastels, but don't ask me to paint anything. Which is why I just absolutely love how this came out. Shannon Makes Jack if all trades by day, awesome circus performer by night. And who doesn't love Canelle's little circus corgi butt wiggles? 😊 You have such lovely Christmas memories thanks for sharing them with us ❤
The intricacies of the Scandinavian design are beautiful. You have a steady hand to be able to paint it. I loved hearing about the Copenhagen Christmas you sent your family.
Wow! Shannon what a fabulous video. The story of your Christmas was lovely to hear and your painting is a real inspiration. I so love your channel. Thanks for sharing 🎉
Love the creativity and being inspired to try that craft. Also loved the gift for your parents. That entire idea was so loving and thoughtful and cool.
It's beautiful, Shannon! I suppose it's because you always share when you're in Scandinavia and you always seem so content there, but when you held that shelf up in your last video, I just knew that's where you'd head with it! I would have, too! But I couldn't have done nearly as good a job with design or execution! Your results are just brilliant and I can't wait to see how you end up finishing the top! ❤
Such intricate work. You are so very talented when it comes to crafts. I use to strip furniture and redo it but not so much now as I've aged. Not a lot of energy. I also loved the corset cookies you attached. You are amazing with the crafts!
How gorgeous! Love the colors and the design. You are so creative! You've inspired me to work on a wooden bread box that I'm using to hold some toiletries. This prevent my cat from using them to test gravity each day. I hadn't thought of painting a design on it. I already use Milanote (thanks to you!) to plan my beaded bottle art so will use that. Thanks for your terrific videos!
Shannon, thank you so much for the lovely video and your Danish Christmas story! I enjoyed all of it so much! Watching you paint makes me anxious to get back to some long overdue tole painting-you've truly inspired me. Merry Christmas to you and yours.❤
oh so happy you like Scandinavian art, I'm from Sweden but live in Spain, and your art painting is was so inspiring and beautiful, thanks for charging it ......did make my day happy. much love
So TALENTED! In the US, most of the big stores when you bring that little paint container back, they give you a refund towards a full gallon. They then put those little containers on the “mistint” or markdown paint rack. I know the Menards and Home Depot only charge 50cents on them, so they are a go to for me for craft paint! You can often find gallons/pints on that rack too. Maybe there are some near you and you can find some discounted paint for some fun colours in your house for cheap!
Beautiful creativity! Denmark also holds my heart. We have family there and visited many years ago. Beautiful, friendly country. The Danes are very creative and artistic. Looking forward to your wood cabinet being painted.🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Your 2020 Christmas sounds amazing with the video and gifts and zoom call. Very well thought out and made a very stressful time into a memorable family event. Your key holder is very well painted.
❤ OH how lovely ❤ ... great job.. it turned out realy wonderful ..wow... I could see the little cabnet that you found in the same Design and colors, under it in the corridor . ❤
Thank you Shannon for a great start to the Christmas season. Loved hearing the story of 2020 and how you made the best of a less than perfect situation. Love the key shelf. You definitely have a steady hand. I don't think I would find it as relaxing as you do. Looking forward to the next adventure.
Congratulations on working that editing time down. The final product was just as delightful as ever.
no, it was just a typo 🫠 It was supposed to read 34, not 4
I’m 72 and this year, for the first time in about 65 years, I’m going to the circus! Wish you were there too, but alas, no.
Absolutely LOVE the artwork 😍
Shocked to hear my name! And I’m happy to contribute to any of your projects. Thanks for all you do.
Also, your story about what you did for your parents in 2020 is beautiful, a really lovely idea xx
The moment you said “this is not part of the original video “I was bouncing in my seat, wondering what treasure you’d found on your walk, lol! your brand is very strong!

Gee I never would have had the idea to paint that shelf so beautifully. Puts a whole new light on acrylic 🎨 paints. Love the cardboard pallet. 😊
Thanks so much 😊

WOW Shannon that turned out beautiful. So much detail. Love it!!!
Thank you so much! ❤️💚❤️
Wow. I am frozen -- thunderstruck -- by the thumbnail. This is SO beautiful. I never could have guessed.
I love your 'ring master' sort of intro. Ladies and gentlemen! Step inside, step inside!
Holy moly! You did that. Of course you did. You're amazing! 😍
Thank you so much!! Hope you tune in to see the details!
Just watched and WOW. just wow.
Beautiful! I love the design and the colors. You did a wonderful job!
Ahh, thank you for the "by extension" disclaimer. My Norwegian grandmother approves.

Really enchanting.
I would absolutely love hearing you discuss your creative process!
Simply beautiful.😮 Where did my patience go. Nevermind, I never would have done 1 millionth as good of a job. That is stunning.❤❤❤

I just love this content, and the painting you did was just perfect. Of course you found furniture on a walk with your dog lol. Can't wait for the video.
Liquitex is an excellent brand of acrylic paint used by many professional artists. I prefer Liquitex over other acrylic paint brands 😊
Just to note, Cadmium red is quite toxic so you need to be careful using it. It’s an excellent colour though and mixes very well with other colours to make more great colours.
