Sorry I havent uploaded anything for a couple of weeks! Been really limited with time this month so have just been doing what I have planned for Patreon. No offence, but I will prioritise Patreon over RUclips every time (because money). I'll upload a few bits and pieces from Patreon over the next few days. Wendy Williams was one of the most popular American radio hosts in the 90s and early 2000s specifically for the urban crowd. She bought tabloid like gossip to radio on celebs that catered to the urban audience like rappers, r&b singers, black actors and actresses who werent gossiped on as much at the time in mainstream media. Wendy got herself in trouble many times and there was a love/hate relationship with her among celebs. She got fired at one station which was rumored to be because P. Diddy (bad boy founder and music executive) pressured the station to do it. At the time Diddys artists in the 90s were popular and the station didnt want to cross him. The firing was all due to Wendy stating that someine sent her a photo of Diddy with a man in a compromising position. There was one rqpper that even came to her rasio station threatening to kill her because of something she said on one of her shows. Celebs would want to go on her radio show becaus it was popular but she didnt hold back asking you the most private and outrageous questions😂 from drug use, your sex life, sexual orientation etc Mariah had an interview with her too. She asked Mariah about her breàst implants which Mariah never publicly said she had. Mariah was pissed. Wendy ended up leaving radio after 20+ yrs for a tv talk show in 2008. The show ended in 2022 due to her absence for months due to health issues (graves disease) and substance abuse ( shes talked about and wrote several books on her life. Shes battled with alcohol and other substances in the past) The network didnt know when she would return. Shes had several documentaries on Lifetime but the recent one raised alarms. Fans had noticed since her talk show shes been forgetting things or being a bit confused at times in the last few years of her show. She was 10x worse on the documentary. Recently it was announced she's been battling dementia due to excessive alcohol use.
This was also her 18th #1 . Yes , she worked with The Dream on this track (& he is featured in the remix as well). Mariah was also featured in his 2009 track (My Love) & was also in the Music Video. They collab on her next album (M.O.A.I.A) on the tracks (Ribbon & H.A.T.E.U.)
Ok so…. lol fun fact: while filming this video, the frisby scene was the first thing they shot and on the first take he hit her in the head with the frisby. lol you can google him on the late show with Seth Meyers talking about it! Second, you should look up her in the studio recording these songs…there’s some fun clips of her touching up vocals on the tracks.
As everyone else has said this was her 18th#1 single. It wasn't until 2019 when her most famous 1994 Christimas classic " All I want for Christmas is you " became her 19th#1. The Beatles holds the record of 20# 1's then Mariah with 19 & Elvis Pressley with 17. Mariah is a beast! Love her talents.
