Anyone here after Adam's 'Would Have Booked Jinder Mahal's WWE Title Reign' Video? It's amazing reading these comments criticising Adam, now knowing how right he was.
You're right, so he drops the title at SummerSlam to Curt Hawkins then wins it back at No Mercy, but then he drops the belt at Survivor Series to Enzo Amore (Who turned on Big Cass and got drafted to SmackDown) then Jinder wins the belt back at the Royal Rumble, thanks to a run in from Big Cass, and holds it 'till Mania were he is defeated by James Ellsworth. WWE Book It Better!
Do people not understand adam doesnt have the issue as Jinder is champion its the way he went from jobber to champ just like that... if they built him up then fair enough but they didnt thats the issue. Its just like putting the universal title on goldust tonight!
Golden Witch i agree he is a icon yes but its still someone you wouldnt expect to hold the title. and too be fair it was the first wrestler i could think of at the time! ha
Yerp and you know why ? WWE wanted you all to have this reaction and put so much heat on him and people would hate having him as champion then super cena comes back to save the day . dudududu.
Orton is now a former 13 time champ. He'll get it back and lose it a few more times to be tied with Cena for 16th. Then a match of who will beat Flair's record will happen. Might take until next Wrestlemania or the Wrestlemania after, but that's what I think will happen.
I've recently realised that listening to Whatculture commentaries after every WWE program sucks away any amount of fun I've actually had by watching the show.
Yeah you would not think they are even fans of WWE. If it does not go there way, they just start crying. And saying Jinder is a joke is such disrespect fot a man that have worked as hard as Jinder have and have had to put up with bad gimmicks for many years.
No they want jinder to be a heel, not a joke. and after battleground hes an even bigger joke. he can't win clean even once and the man that let him win the prison match was pretty much there because he's also indian, despite being infamously unentertaining. This push was way to sudden to feel real.
They want something worthy of being the next big thing, not someone who was pushed for less than a month. And quite frankly his gimmick is boring, he's indian... that's it. His character is just a screaming, roided up dude who wears a head wrap.
To be fair, Jinder has worked his ass off in recent times and deserves an opportunity like this. Seeing guys like Randy with the title all the time is just plain boring in my eyes. He has held the title a huge amount of times and it's refreshing having a new face in the limelight every once in a while, instead of the same regular faces like Roman, Randy etc. WWE took a risk with Jinder and sometimes taking a risk with a talent is what gets them the respect they deserve. Heel or not heel, I like Jinder! All hail the Maharaja!! (also i respect randy, for all the fan boys out there) Peace
Jinder Mahal has been good but you just don't slap a belt on him. Firstly he hasn't been working his ass off for years more like a couple of months and the fact their slapping the most prestigious title him puzzles me. Even styles it took him multiple months even though he was the top guy to win the belt. That's what pisses me off. He hasn't really proved himself and he apparently in a month he's been from jobber to wwe champion smh.
Scott Hanlon Instead of Jinder, why didn't they take a risk with Sami Zayn? No one is saying someone new shouldn't come along, but it should be someone more talented and harder working than Jinder.
Scott Hanlon How is Zayn "harder working" than Jinder? Hes in the wrestling business with his shirt off, supposed to look like he can kick somebody's ass, yet looks like a chubby cab driver that the closest he's ever been to a gym was dropping Jinder off at one in his cab.
I don't mind jinder being champion, but the fact that people like ziggler and cesaro haven't been WWE champion and jinder mahal has makes me want to die 😂😂
Jordan Strong u are right orton was preety boring as champion it would be nice if it have been bray but orton doesnt seem right i love jinder as champion
So you would book a jobber to win a World title because it gets "heel heat"? Arquette got some heat for winning the world title. Was that somehow a good thing?
He hasn't been a jobber for a while. People are talking about 3MB like it wasn't years ago. The whole point of roster switches is that resets happened. No one cares that Braun Strowman was just a goon for Bray, once he's on Raw he's a fucking monster. Jinder's been doing good work since he came on Smackdown and THAT is what matters.
He was literally jobbing out to Finn Balor the week before. And the hell are you talking about with "Resets happen"? What other "Resets" have there been?
And after months, Jinder gave Shinsuke Nakamura his 1st *couple* of matches, that he dragged the raitings even more down, everyone who talked positive about Jinder changed their opinion and pretty much sucked in everything he did and thank god did someone backstage finaly changed the bookings and AJ defeated Jinder twice and completley clean.
Well my guess is he will probably just be a transitional champion. Like as much as I would hate to see it I could imagine Orton winning the title back from Mahal at the next PPV. I mean I'm not a huge Mahal fan but I do like him so much better as the top champion then the bland and boring babyface Orton. Hell he is currently my favorite top title holder on either brand. Since I can't stand Lesnar a man who doesn't show up for months and when he does he just stands in the ring and lets Heyman cut one of his long winded promo's that usually are him just rehashing the same things over and over again. What I would really love to see is Rusev come back as a face and challenge Mahal for the title. Or even keep him heel and make it Orton vs Mahal vs Rusev for the title.
Ok, so it has been a year and we can all agree, Jinder as s champion was a *disaster.* the Smackdown arenas were completley empty, Inda didn‘t became fans of WWE and they completley ruined Shinsuke Nakamura with that story. Don‘t believe me? Watch Zane‘s Video (Wrestling with Wregret) where he compares Jinder run with the Title to JBL‘s run. He summoned it up perfectley.
Okay, no probs. Would you prefer to watch a match with Randy Orton as WWE champion or with Jinder Mahal as WWE champion? Which one intrigues you more? Which one would you want to see the result of?
Just don't look at this as a joke. Jinder is a heel. They're doing this to make you mad. Heels are supposed to make you mad. You should hate a heel. That's a heel's job.
Quab It's not being mad, it's being disappointed that they would put a world title on someone with absolutely no build, and has been a notorious jobber for years.
Quab heel hear is different from bullshit heat jinders build up was trash and rushed and is only there because Vince thinks the Indian fanbase will latch on to WWE if they have a Indian person as champ which is cynical as fuck.
The reason I cheered personally was because I finally have a heel that I can legitimately hate. During the match itself I found myself wanting Orton to kick his ass.
alphadogg64 Heath slater has had 4 titles so arguably he's done better than drew with 2 weak title runs. Also slater has record for most raw tag titles as a team with Gabriel
There are parallels between Jinder and JBL's turn and title run. Bradshaw lost a tag match as part of the APA on 18 March 2004. He debuted the JBL gimmick on March 25. He wrestled Guerrero for the belt and won the match by DQ on 16 May (7.5 weeks after his turn), and was Champion by 27 June 2004. That's about 13 weeks from go to whoa. Granted, Jinder did it in half the time, but strapping a rocket to a guy who was mid card at best isn't totally unprecedented.
I went on thinking about this exact same parallel for weeks, however JBL has been a champion before and also an important face from the Attitude Era. Jinder was garbage in his first run, garbage with 3MB, garbage with pretty much everything. But ehi, Orton was actually boring, so a fresh face might work. Maybe not Jinder, but he deserves a shot.
Yeaah, JBL won the hardcore and European titles. They were the bottom of the barrel, if they were still around it's almost guaranteed Jinder would have had them at some point. I can't speak to the quality of his runs because I only started watching wrestling again in 2016. There's a pretty big blank in my knowledge for about a decade prior to that.
At the time they weren't properly the bottom of the barrel (ok, the Hardcore championship was), but I can see your point. However, he was a great tag champ (3 times) with Faaroq too, a thing not to be taken lightly in terms of having an already "established" face. Jinder is extremely raw in the main event, never won anything before..it's harder to digest to see him there but, again, it's fair to give him time and see what can happen.
tbh I still like jinder as world champion than Brock lesner. At least he shows us on smackdown and makes it seem that there's an actually champion on the brand
Brock Lesnar doesnt have to show up all the time because he is Brock Lesnar.Like it or not he is the biggest draw WWE has and there are a lot of reasons why.Jinder Mahal is a mediocre wrestler with an outdated gimmick that has been done many times before and he was a jobber for a total of 5 years and now he is WWE champion.
Brock has over stayed that role. Yes for casual fans Brock is still a huge draw because he eats people alive but as a die hard fan like me, I tune into Raw to see names like Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins and I guess even braun and Reigns now, you know people that worked their asses off to get where they got to. It pisses me off that a part timer is the champion of that brand then a full timer that has been working live a dog to make the brand the way it is. In the recent years I have seen Brock wrestle lazier and lazier and if you need more proof I can make drinking game out the amount of suplexes he does in one match. The argument i'm trying to make is not that Jinder is a better champion (he's not) but at least with him as champion a full time superstar on Smackdown at least is holding the belt. As a long time fan, it annoys me when part timers are given the belt and dissapper. I know they are big draws, I get that but to me it defeats the purpose of the work ethic of that the belt stands for.
They gave the belt to Jinder because they want to expand to the indian market more and people are cheering for him like he deserved it.He juiced up and got a belt for it while in both shows the midcard is full of people better than him in every way.I may not like Raw's champion being away but at least when he turns up he is Brock Lesnar not a mediocre wrestler with a tasteless overdone gimmick that works on the casual american fans
Dude you always complaining about ppl not getting opportunities but you are upset because of who won the title? Backlash was the first time that someone who was expected to be squashed actually win.. This is actually bringing a spark back to the wwe... Thank you Shane O Mac..
The only I wish WWE would have done is have a bit longer of a build, but I'm fine with it. Hopefully, Jinder can get better, especially with his promos.
I'm not too mad at jinder as champ. Whole point of a heel champion is that we don't want to see them as champion and we want to see them get beat for the title. Nowadays we don't really get that even with Owens and Wyatt even they're heel we all felt they deserved it and wanted to see them keep it. This is the first true heel champion we've had in a while and when he does lose it whoever takes it from him will get a huge pop.
Duke Wellington EXACTLY! I miss those old days where you actually hated the heel who is holding the belt. The moment where some like Chris Benoit finally winning the belt after HHH held on to the belt like golum was mindblowing.
Duke Wellington I get that but he's heel because people literally don't like him and he's botchy in the ring. He's heel because him winning means people stop watching. Different kind of heat then Owens
Adam Hupp and that heat can be used for wonderful things. If jinder holds it for several months, and someone beats him, they will get a huge pop and raise in popularity. We need a champion who we actually hate, not someone that just yells a little.
I dunno I like Jinder as Champion more than Orton because we've seen Orton as champ so many times now he's just stale. If Jinder improves his in ring work and mic skills I think he'll be a good heel. They should build on his hard-hitting style in the ring, just make sure he doesn't concuss someone again (Finn Balor).
John Cook look i wouldn't have been mad at wwe if jinder wasn't a jobbber 2 months ago and now he is wwe champion, and we all know he is not going to improve in the ring or on the mic
John Cook Jinder's in-ring skills are already good enough, but he needs to work on his moc skills and stop making the slow, deep villanious voice he always does.
It's not just for LOL, it's because Jinder actually worked his ass off to get where he is now and is taking the push of a lifetime into a new point of his career. I'm sure Jinder finds it very great that you find his legitimate push as a "joke"
ViperRulerlm it is a joke. nothing more then a f****ing joke. I think its a joke even the wwe think its a joke because...it is and they did it for the LOL's and the #donthinderthejinder
thank you whatculture for showing that WWE is more concerned about promoting a Canadian repackaged as stereotypically Indian to sell shirts and subscriptions than actually giving quality characters and bookings
didn't you guys listen to vince stephanie and shane when they said wwe is now the NEW era and how shane said alot of people in the smackdown live brand will get an opportunity and don't some of you guys say you want some of these young talented superstars to win a champion , well thats what they did , our new wwe world heavyweight champion , Jinder Fucking Mahal
John Freakin Cena Two problems, you have to be talented to be deserving, and you have to be built up to make it believable. Jinder's a been a fucking jobber for years before. He's literally El Torito-tier
I understand that indy guys do deserve the best because of being fanastic wrestlers and decorated competitors for many years prior to their WWE run. For me, it's even more impressive when someone, who is working as a jobber for many years, without complaining, without bitching about being underutilized (even if they really are), finally succeeds (and I'm not talking about Mahal now; it's the general thing). And, to be honest, I would take current situation of WWE Championship over this part-time bullshit of Universal title any day. It's so bad that WWE even had to make MitB PPV an exclusive PPV of SD Live roster. Think about it: there can't be Mr. MitB on RAW just because WWE creative workers already planned every Universal title reign 'till next years' WrestleMania. And the main event is already "etched in stone" as well.
Now I am not on the Jinder Bandwagon buy I still think plumpy is being too hard on Jinder here.... Bruno, Randy, The rock, stone cold, shawn michaels all GOATS yes.. But I think you have forgotten some.. JBL, Vince, Sycho Sid, Great Khali, The miz.... And yet most of these reigns have been successful. Because they were genuine heels and got genuine heat. It has never been necessary for a champion to be amazing in the ring (Hulk hogan, Ultimate Warrior) The reason for there success was they were good on the mic, they were a breath of fresh air and most importantly the storyline was good. As far as Jinder is concerned he may not be the greatest in the ring but he is getting pretty good on mic and the storyline is fresh. Of Course it doesn't help how boring a champion Randy was this should really be his last push. And I know Miz has evolved a lot since but at the time he won his championship he was almost exactly in the same place as Jinder, he was in the company for a long time, jobbed for many years and suddenly became the WC, people didn't think it would work but it did, now we don't know if Jinder would work or not but I think he should be given a chance at least. Labeling him as the worst champion before his reign has even begin is stupid and unfair. Oh and this is just a side note but was it just me or did Jinder look amazing with the belt when he was celebrating? gave me flashbacks of The rock abd HHH.. He may Deserve it or not but you cant deny that the belt looks good on him.
The miz would be a worthy universal champion if you ask me. I hate that they give the belt to a big name like brock lesnar only to sell summerslam to a more casual audience while us the true fans have to watch with no world champion. There so much talent on raw, the miz, seth rollins, samoa joe, Bray Wyatt , Braun Strowman an the list goes on.
I buy Jinder as a legit champ. It's not ironic or funny to me. He looks the part, I like his in-ring style, the promo he shot when he won the six-pack challenge was perfect, and he's genuinely exposing wrestling fans' racism. I'm all in.
Something that Tye Dillinger said on Talking Smack really resonated with me. He sees Jinder Mahal winning the title as hope for more opportunities. If you think about it. He was on a roll when he came in, lost his place, become of the biggest jobber of all jobbers in 3MB and just flat out disappeared. Oh and he really let himself go physically. He then got released and being released really motivated him to get better and fit. He looks better than ever. He came back and is now your SD Live WWE Champion. Tye Dillinger said he had sort of the same run as he was also out of place back in '06. Now he's one of the hottest things for SD Live and over as can be, so maybe there is a chance for people like him (who lose their place) to get back up again and become champions within WWE. Maybe a bit of a long shot, but that's what I took from it..
that's what I been saying. they did it to the miz when he beat wade Barrett, Christian, and Zack Ryder. because they want to build on probably Randy orton to vs rusev for the title and. baron corbin to win the money in the bank.
I don't mind Jinder winning at all, just because Randy has been a god awful vacuous champion. I'd take putting it on someone new any day over the boring charisma vacuum that is Orton.
You guys have to remember, plumpy is looking at this from a booking perspective. Taking everything else away and just looking at this as jinder mahal getting into the best shape of his life and getting rewarded for it, i absolutely agree making him a champ makes sense. However, there was no real build to his rise. Mahal has been a jobber since his push, and rushing a good build for the sake of appealing to a market is a slap in the face to good story telling (a big reason i watch wwe). If you give mahal more chances to main event, he will absolutely improve, but this all seemed rushed in my opinion.
They rapidly made a guy a champion/main eventer that you are SUPPOSED to boo and people are mad. Remember how they rapidly made Roman a champion/main eventer that you were supposed to cheer and people were mad?
I'm so glad Jinder took the title off Orton. Orton just doesn't work as a champion in 2017 and it is FANTASTIC to see the title on a fresh face. And whether you like it or not, Adam, Jinder has great charisma, a great look, a decent wrestler, can generate genuine heel heat and most of all, he has worked his ass off and earned the opportunity. Give him a chance to prove himself instead of being so negative and bitter. It's only been a month and he's garnered more attention and fanfare than Roman has in 4 years.
TheIndianChild Exactly. People always complain about how the same people always win the championships all the time, and now that somebody new wins the belt they're mad. it doesn't make any sense. I for one am glad Jinder is champ and am excited to see what happens next.
I'm a little worried for his promos. On talking smack he's a bit stuttery when put on the spot. The news breaking is that he's meant to hold the belt all the way to the Rumble. He needs work but I hope he makes himself a legit main eventer. He'll only have himself to blame if he still isn't accepted as a main eventer in a couple months time.
TheIndianChild Would you like to change this statement? Because he’s fucking awful, he doesn’t have and charisma, he’s an ok wrestler and people have stopped watching Smackdown because if him (it’s a fact I’ve talked to people and I’m one of them because I can’t buy that goof as a champ)
I like the fact that wwe are giving more opportunities to the 'fairly unknown' faces of the company it's kinda fresh maybe even try putting the universal championship on Heath Slater?
This attitude is part of what's wrong with wrestling fans these days. You want to see new stars emerge from the mid card or in Jinder's case the bottom of the card but you're not convinced about how he got there? Sometimes you have to take things for what they are and say "okay fine, let's see where this goes." I wanna see what Jinder's got, this is in no way worse than how Reigns leapfrogged EVERYONE to the Main Event scene, at least Jinder put in his time as an ultimate jobber. Give the guy a shot.
AJThrash1 we saw where it went, we gave him a chance. Sub par match after sub par match, and the all of a sudden here's the WWE championship! Fuck this shit
AJThrash1 I don't mind it on Jinder. But do I think guys like Rusev or Cesaro would have been better 1st time champs, yeah. I think that's what people are really hung up on.
AJThrash1 I am not overly mad about Jinder winning the title but comparing it to Roman is silly because Roman was a monster in the Shield and was actually liked when he was first in his singles push. Jinder came from losing pretty much every match since his return
You cant go from jobber to wwe champion in a month though. Putting the WWE Championship on someone shouldn't make them main event worthy they should already be main event worthy and that happens by months of build. Look at Sami Zayn/Corbin both will be future main eventers and world champions but have had to spend a year or two in the midcard to get there but when they do it will feel legitimate.
People think that this is somehow a knock on Jinder and it's not. Every one of the people that rightfully complain about this does so not because they don't like Jinder, but because this wasn't the right way to do it. Is it really so much to ask for some consistency in logic when it comes to wrestling? I mean, what's the rush to put the title on Jinder anyways? Give him a couple of months to dominate the mid card and then a couple of quality wins over the likes of AJ and it won't feel so forced.
The WWE are pushing hard in a country with 1.3 BILLION people with not a single representative until recently, it's amazing most people didn't think that Jinder was going to get the title, you watch the Bollywood boys get the tag titles within the next couple of months, probably perfectly timed for the tour of India in September so no way is Jinder or the B-Boys losing any titles until after then.
Juan Antonio Montana are you a Brit who happens to live in Mexico or are you a Mexican who lives in Mexico if the first one, sure. If the second one, naw
I don't know why you think people support Jinder's push for "the lolz". The dude has barely put a foot wrong with the opportunities he has been given, worked his ass off, ACTUALLY HAS A PERSONALITY (Club Balor, I'm looking at you), and not that shabby a worker. You saying that some fans are supporting him as a meme or gag is an oversimplification. Some of us are sick to the guts of injury-prone champions or champions who don't even show up. Supporting THAT is what I would consider a joke, which WWE is overall nowadays. The death of kayfabe ensured it as such. You're overreacting way too much.
Jinder has always felt like someone with potential upside whose been waiting for his moment, and I'm willing to accept his -current- work in his current position.
I can't sit through full raw or smackdowns anymore and Jinder Mahal as champion doesn't excite me one bit, but if the people that still watch like it, for whatever reason, that's undeniably good.
guys he signed contract with Vince for certain amount of appearance including major ppv , he only gets paid for attaining them , why he will work for free ?
No one is saying he should work for free. You're missing the point. The Universal title has been MIA since Wrestlemania. 2 months and we haven't even seen the champ. So how is that better than having Jinder as WWE Champion? At least we will actually get to see the title.
Thank you Adam. This shit was ridiculous. Jinder has been a jobber for the last 5 years, was on a massive losing streak a 2 months ago, can't wrestle that well and is holding the most prestigious championship belt in the entire world. Fuck that shit
The Orton/ Jinder match was a lot of fun. Why complain? Let Mahal have his moment, regardless of WWE's motives. It definitely was a surprise and not standard procedure!
Orton tried to Hinder the Jinder, the No.1 Continder and got burnt to a cinder, as a hinder by the Singh brothers helped Jinder Winder Title. I guess it's back to Tinder nights for Orton. .......Dive
Siddharth Kamath you're literally proving why Jinder winning is dope for his heel persona and the company... Edit: LMAO I WAS TRYING TO RESPOND TO THE VIDEO NOT YOUR COMMENT MY B
LOL. I love it. People getting worked. The fact that Jinder being champ draws such negative feelings is the point. Guess you don't remember the days when "Heel" champs used foreign objects and did every chicken shit thing imaginable to get the crowd to hate them. Its a new world today. All of the fans are internet savy and are reading blogs and surfing reddit. The new style "heel" is to either make them a company pushed face (see Roman), or to make someone the champ that the internet thinks doesn't deserve it (see Jinder). All of you are getting worked, and Vince loves it.
Joshua, but that's what opencipher is talking about. Heels were NOT likeable. You genuinely hated them, and wanted them to lose. Only after all was said and done, would you look back and love the run they had. If you just boo for fun it's not the same, you are not as emotionally invested in it.
This backlash isnt because Jinder is good at being heel. It's because WWE made him champion after a shitty push. A month ago no one even cared he was on the roster.
Ryan Coombes if he won the match then yes that a good starting point for a push. But then he kept on getting his ass kicked by this thing called a "Gronk".
You could put it this way: Bob Backlund, Sgt Slaughter, Diesel, Sycho Sid, Vince McMahon, JBL, Sheamus, Dean Ambrose, Jinder Mahal. A compelling argument could be made that Jinder is better than all of those.
I would love to hear such an argument. I happen to think that all of those names on your list (with the exception of Sycho Sid and Vince) are better than Jinder as champions. Maybe Jinder could have been built up to similar levels as the rest, but at the moment he is not.
I can't believe how everyone is jumping on "oh if you don't like Jinder Mahal being champion you're racist" how about the reason that if he weren't the race he was WWE wouldn't of made him champion. The reason people are pissed is because he isn't a particularly great wrestler and has barely wrestled any matches recently and got shoved to the top of the card because of his race when there are more people deserving of a title push. I actually don't mind Jinder being champion we will have to see what he does with the belt (I'm thinking he's gonna be a pretty dull champion but anything to change up Orton being the champ), Randy was incredibly dull and hasn't done anything productive with the belt so I'm all for it. But can people stop just saying you're racist if you disagree with WWE's decision when there are a HUGE amount of reasons this is a stupid thing to do (from a wrestling point of view) , from the business side of things WWE has done the correct thing trying to increase market share in Indian their 3rd largest consumer. Unfortunately this is the internet so there are alot of stupid idiots pissed off because they are racist but the point still stands don't just rage at anyone who dislikes this decision.
You can do anything when a title isn't involved but the fact that it's hard to think as Jinder as anything but a jobber, means all that's happened is the the prestigious WWE championship is now beeing held by someone who couldn't be anyone on RAW.
You nailed it Plumpy. We witnessed the death of the WWE Championship last night. And the death of WWE. When your top championship is no longer a serious prize and becomes a joke it's over. There's no recovering from that. The title can never be taken seriously again. It's worthless. This is WWE's David Arquette moment. It's a sad day to be a wrestling fan. The death of history.
Anyone here after Adam's 'Would Have Booked Jinder Mahal's WWE Title Reign' Video?
It's amazing reading these comments criticising Adam, now knowing how right he was.
It's crazy seeing all the dumb comments actually defending this horrible decision
Watching Adam on WhatCulture in 2020, major nostalgia trip.
Jinder is just a transitional champion so they can put the belt on Ellsworth at Mania.
tucker austin hahahahaha hahahahaha hahahahaha hahahahaha
Not really a transitional champ if he holds it till Mania.
Yep it's as if Ellsworth won against styles! It's that damn bad... even Bray Wyatt thought so on twitter
Might as well put it on Ellsworth. The title has no value anymore.
Do people not understand adam doesnt have the issue as Jinder is champion its the way he went from jobber to champ just like that... if they built him up then fair enough but they didnt thats the issue. Its just like putting the universal title on goldust tonight!
Michael racist?? haha are you serious??
Michael Explain please with a logical argument
Aaron Lampert Bad comparison cause Goldust is an actual icon of wrestling.
Golden Witch i agree he is a icon yes but its still someone you wouldnt expect to hold the title. and too be fair it was the first wrestler i could think of at the time! ha
Yerp and you know why ? WWE wanted you all to have this reaction and put so much heat on him and people would hate having him as champion then super cena comes back to save the day . dudududu.
Holy shit, Cena's record breaking title reign is going to be dethroning Mahal
Ross Cena already broke it (I think or tied it)
Bryce Hitchcock Tied with Flair
Orton is now a former 13 time champ. He'll get it back and lose it a few more times to be tied with Cena for 16th. Then a match of who will beat Flair's record will happen. Might take until next Wrestlemania or the Wrestlemania after, but that's what I think will happen.
That's a pretty cool idea, would quite like to see AJ get another 1 or two title reigns tho
I would actually love to see Rusev or Nakamura as the next new champ but AJ for another reign before that happens
I've recently realised that listening to Whatculture commentaries after every WWE program sucks away any amount of fun I've actually had by watching the show.
Donny Sobchak they match my opinions many Times
Yeah you would not think they are even fans of WWE. If it does not go there way, they just start crying. And saying Jinder is a joke is such disrespect fot a man that have worked as hard as Jinder have and have had to put up with bad gimmicks for many years.
Every time Jinder Mahal says "Let me speak to MY people!" I'm thinking "Other Canadians?"
The moment when plumpy doesn't realize this is literally exactly how WWE wants him to respond.
Final Cut Gaming they want him to feel like their main title is a joke
So true , probably for when super cena comes back . They tryna put as much heat on him as they can.
Well it has in fact been a joke for years.
No they want jinder to be a heel, not a joke. and after battleground hes an even bigger joke. he can't win clean even once and the man that let him win the prison match was pretty much there because he's also indian, despite being infamously unentertaining. This push was way to sudden to feel real.
Could you imagine if Drew McIntyre was the one to take the belt off Jinder
Get slater back to smackdown and have a 3mb triple threat for the title
bptml7 lord no
bptml7 it's gonna be rusev at mitb probably if it happens
NO! Heath Slater! Heath is the one who brought Jinder back! The storyline is already there
heath is on raw tho
I guess you can say Randy took a ... Dive
"Fuck you WWE! We want something new!"
Jinder wins title
"FUCK YOU! HOW DARE YOU!"
anonymous guy welcome to the iwc
anonymous guy we want new guys that deserve it. not someone thrown into it that's honestly not even that good. why is that hard to understand??
You're an idiot and you know it.
Because it was wayyyyyyy too fast.
They want something worthy of being the next big thing, not someone who was pushed for less than a month. And quite frankly his gimmick is boring, he's indian... that's it. His character is just a screaming, roided up dude who wears a head wrap.
I'm more pissed about Brock holding a World title than Jinder tbh
Brock holds a world title?
No. He's holding the illegitimate Raw Women's Championship.
julj94 omfg Fr Brock as champion is bs part timers should never be champions
I agree. Where is Plumpy's outrage over the Universal belt being held by a ghost?
I totally agree with you here and all the replies to your comment at this point.
Jinder Mahal went from 0 to 100 real quick, the new WWE Champion, Smackdown is really the land of opportunities
I was genuinely shocked last night when Jinder won the title, I'm not mad, I'm not happy either. I'm just going to sit back and see where this goes
(also i respect randy, for all the fan boys out there)
Peace
you don't get such looks without pumping shit into yrself
Manwiththeplan sXe lmfao
Laughed my ass off at all of the editing. Good work, Sam!
If Randy wasn't so god damn boring maybe Jinder wouldn't have picked up the belt
MetagameHawaii anybody as WWE champion > Randy as champion
Yeah man, let's get the boogeyman up in this bitch
The "Yeh-tay"
Exactly. Even Randy's entrance music bores me. Anything is better than Orton at this point
Accurate point!!
WWE Fans: Orton wins Royal Rumble. They need to push new, younger talent
4 months later: We want an established champ!
to be fair, Jinder Mahal didn't get any push, they just decided to make him the new champion.
Jack Ji Thank you !!!!
Jinder isnt new talent
1whetam1
He said younger, not newer. Jinder is only 30. If he improves some, he could be a top heel for awhile.
I'd rather see Orton as the champ for a year than a piece of shit jobber being champ. WWE IS DEAD TO ME
Vince McMahon was the weakest WWE Champion ever period.
Mike cushinberry Vince was better than Rey Mysterio.
at least vince wasn't a CAREER LONG JOBBER who suddenly gets the title.
And at least Vince's win was part of an extremely well eatablished ongoing storyline.
Mike cushinberry sheamus
Mike cushinberry Vince is more charismatic, and a better talker in the ring than Jinder could ever be.
I don't mind jinder being champion, but the fact that people like ziggler and cesaro haven't been WWE champion and jinder mahal has makes me want to die 😂😂
Well Ziggler was World Heavyweight Champion
@@julianjoker7038 for 3 weeks and lost it on his first title defense
I'm not even against Jinder Mahal, I'm just flat out shocked!
why?
NG Sooty Why am I shocked or why am I not against Jinder?
Ikr. It's so Stupid that I actually like it and this is coming from an Orton fan. Dont hinder the Jinder.
Stewie Griffin Orton is so boring so at least there is some change
I think a lot of people wanted it but didn't expect it to happen yet if at all. change can be good but I think he needed a little longer to grow
When you noticed that Jinder Mahal got the WWE Championship before 'The Chosen One' Drew McIntyre
Jaylen Moore don't worry Drew Mcintyre will be a champion soon then u think
Jinder as WWE Champion > Missing Universal champion > Roman Reigns
Full Time Lackluster Roman >>>>> Part Time Lazy Brock
"it was an alright match. Becky lynch looked like a rooster. fucking Bullshit. fucking bullshit. fucking bullshit" 😂😂
Jinder Mahal is sitting there with the belt, right this very minute, and thinking - 'How the fuck did this happen?' :P
Did you just assume my Jinder??
Underrated comment
Mahal or feMahal?
Cameron Allen People demanded something different.....they fucking got it. I hate how people have been acting. Orton was boring anyways
like your comment m8
Jordan Strong u are right orton was preety boring as champion it would be nice if it have been bray but orton doesnt seem right i love jinder as champion
Plumpy just proved that Jinder has heel heat.
Ben Dover you said it 👍
they should keep gingers to bodyguards away from The Ring and have it a fair fight but we won't see that with WWE
Sami Zayn deserves it more than Jinder hopefully Sami smashes his head with a helluva kick.
Better than Orton. Orton has been champion so many times and at this point he's beyond stale. I wanna see what Jinder does next, this could be good.
the only good champ reign randy has is when he had feud with cena,,triple h,edge.
Curt Hawkins for universal champ
Pet A File hes actually good tho lmaob
#HawkinsFearsGrim
Ok, so it has been a year and we can all agree, Jinder as s champion was a *disaster.* the Smackdown arenas were completley empty, Inda didn‘t became fans of WWE and they completley ruined Shinsuke Nakamura with that story. Don‘t believe me? Watch Zane‘s Video (Wrestling with Wregret) where he compares Jinder run with the Title to JBL‘s run. He summoned it up perfectley.
Adam should do a 'how wwe should book Jinder as champion'
**INHALES**
*AHH..... The smell of angry wrestling marks... Your rage sustains me!*
I'm so early. But that doesn't mean I'm not still blown away by JINDER FUCKING MAHAL winning the damn WWE title.
Okay, no probs. Would you prefer to watch a match with Randy Orton as WWE champion or with Jinder Mahal as WWE champion? Which one intrigues you more? Which one would you want to see the result of?
I want to see MUCHKA VS MAHARAGA
FaZe Hawk 😂😂
FaZe Hawk grammar, dude. Spell it right. I see your point, but this is AWFUL spelling. Maharajah vs Machka
Psycho_retros_2 Streams soz I'm not that good and I didn't want go bother search up how it is spelt
it's gonna be that atlast!! it's leading to that!
FaZe Hawk wow cant even spell their names properly
This is the beginning of a Plumpy heel turn.
He has always been heel he's just been more cooky since the change too plumpy
Jinder Mahal became WWE Champ and Sami Zayn won a match.
Best PPV in history.
+Pirikko she won a year ago m8!
FUCKING THANK YOU
Umeer Cheema now let's just hope sami take that belt from jinder
Cody Goodson no
Umeer Cheema no this is not best PPV but this is worse One in history
reading comments from 7 months ago proves how dumb people are for having faith in a WWE storyline
Yuuuuup
Yuuuuuuuuuup
Still right
Just don't look at this as a joke. Jinder is a heel. They're doing this to make you mad. Heels are supposed to make you mad. You should hate a heel. That's a heel's job.
Quab it's funny because he got a lot of cheers
Quab It's not being mad, it's being disappointed that they would put a world title on someone with absolutely no build, and has been a notorious jobber for years.
Quab heel hear is different from bullshit heat jinders build up was trash and rushed and is only there because Vince thinks the Indian fanbase will latch on to WWE if they have a Indian person as champ which is cynical as fuck.
The reason I cheered personally was because I finally have a heel that I can legitimately hate. During the match itself I found myself wanting Orton to kick his ass.
Did everyone forget when vince was wwe champion
that moment when you realise that drew mcintyre is the least susscesful member of the 3mb
Jaime Moyano McIntyre is shit
Dude Drew is gonna be bigger than Jinder Mahal lmao just wait.
Jaime Moyano well Drew did win the Intercontinental Championship
Jaime Moyano Isn't Heath Slater? He atleast had the IC championship at least once.
alphadogg64 Heath slater has had 4 titles so arguably he's done better than drew with 2 weak title runs. Also slater has record for most raw tag titles as a team with Gabriel
So you prefer the universal title where it's gone on vacation for a couple months?
Tvdiet Until Summerslam
I mean tht did happen in the past its nothing new
Keep in mind that Plumpy here has a big time crush on Brock. He'd be hesitant to call him out on anything.
Stanley Hitchcock However Brock will miss 2 PPVS and has little to no appearances when he won the tittle
Jake Bocek Double standard at it's finest.
Lesnar vs Mahal in a 60 minute iron man unification match?
Seriously though, he'll probably drop it back to Randy before the next PPV on TV.
I can't believe Jinder Mahal won! I hope they book him well
There are parallels between Jinder and JBL's turn and title run.
Jinder better than brock makes sense
Smooth Game I'm not saying jinder is better than brock...he's not at all but it is good to tune in and see the champion on tv once in a while
Brock Lesnar doesnt have to show up all the time because he is Brock Lesnar.Like it or not he is the biggest draw WWE has and there are a lot of reasons why.Jinder Mahal is a mediocre wrestler with an outdated gimmick that has been done many times before and he was a jobber for a total of 5 years and now he is WWE champion.
Can you imagine 'you deserve it' chants for Jinder 😂
Cole le Yes please please crowd in the next Smackdown Live do that
Cole le They were chanting that last night in my section! It was great!!
He is the new JBL
He does deserve it
The only I wish WWE would have done is have a bit longer of a build, but I'm fine with it.
This is the first true heel champion we've had in a while and when he does lose it whoever takes it from him will get a huge pop.
that is unless he holds it until MITB and drops it to rusev immediately. he needs a couple defences for it to feel legit
John Cook Yeah But till then they should have put the prize belt on some other guy or let Orton be the champ in the worse case possible.
John Cook Jinder's in-ring skills are already good enough, but he needs to work on his moc skills and stop making the slow, deep villanious voice he always does.
Maybe they are setting up for Rusev vs Jinder
it was not that bad
It's not just for LOL, it's because Jinder actually worked his ass off to get where he is now and is taking the push of a lifetime into a new point of his career. I'm sure Jinder finds it very great that you find his legitimate push as a "joke"
ViperRulerlm it is a joke. nothing more then a f****ing joke. I think its a joke even the wwe think its a joke because...it is and they did it for the LOL's and the #donthinderthejinder
Bobby Roode triggered
6 people on Smackdown use the superkick. That's a problem.
JoshL Kevin owens, Ziggler, Luke harper, tamina, tye dillinger?, James ellsworth.
EarlyBird Kenny Omega both usos and tyler breeze
JoshL Wait till the Young Bucks get to WWE..it'll be a fucking super kick party =.=
The only positive i can take away from this result, is that Jinder has genuine heel heat among the marks, and that is an accomplishment
kingusan foods yeah in hindsight this was not a great idea.
kingusan foods even back then it wasn’t a good idea 😂😂😂
jinder mahal as champion means that rusev is going to beat him for the belt and turn face
julio626100 that would be awesome. I'm high on Rusev as a face
And then whoever wins money in the bank will cash in on Rusev
Sami Zayn or Baron Corbin should win the MITB
thank you whatculture for showing that WWE is more concerned about promoting a Canadian repackaged as stereotypically Indian to sell shirts and subscriptions than actually giving quality characters and bookings
Ben Metlis who would have know they cared about money...
What about caring for fans who pay you $$? Same mistakes wcw made
didn't you guys listen to vince stephanie and shane when they said wwe is now the NEW era and how shane said alot of people in the smackdown live brand will get an opportunity and don't some of you guys say you want some of these young talented superstars to win a champion , well thats what they did , our new wwe world heavyweight champion , Jinder Fucking Mahal
When they say young talents they mean their indy darlings
John Freakin Cena Two problems, you have to be talented to be deserving, and you have to be built up to make it believable. Jinder's a been a fucking jobber for years before. He's literally El Torito-tier
Alexander Right because in real fighting you've gotta be built you can never loose a bunch of fights and beat a champion...
I think even El Torito (a better wrestler tbh) beat him at some point.
Deserves to be champion makes sense😂
whatculture in a nutshell:
me like change in WWE
(months later)
me not like change in wwe
'Cause it's not another "indy darling" who has to get title reign because... he is "indy darling".
MichcioPL it's okay if whatculture loves Indie wrestling, but that doesn't mean they have to hate everything WWE does just because it's not Indie
Jeff Jeff just because they said they want change doesn't mean they have to accept any shit WWE throws at us
I understand that indy guys do deserve the best because of being fanastic wrestlers and decorated competitors for many years prior to their WWE run.
MichcioPL wait, the money in the bank PPV is SmackDown live only? where did you found this?
Jaiden Docwra
Well the world heavyweight championship and wwe championship was united so i suppose this belt does carry the same lineage.
Jaiden Docwra world heavyweight champion
kamran khan The Brits hate India.
kamran khan To be fair to Miz, it wasn't as sudden and it started with a US/Tag Title reign before he got the MiB and became a WC.
I'm all in.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Jinder is Canadian.
I'm going to laugh my ass off if he loses the belt on Tuesday
To Ellsworth
ktmartin1996 I'm not I'm gonna throw a party
Doubt he will lose it for a few weeks yet, and most likely to a returning Cena.
ktmartin1996 Christian all over again
that's what I been saying. they did it to the miz when he beat wade Barrett, Christian, and Zack Ryder. because they want to build on probably Randy orton to vs rusev for the title and. baron corbin to win the money in the bank.
*Hey Plumpy, they should've put the belt on James Ellsworth during his feud with Styles.*
Chest Pec Respect and he can do it better *bling*
Finally wwe picks someone new to be champion! Randy's reign was pretty boring anyway tbh
RWE WRESTLING fucking agree.
Jinder won't hold it for too long though, they might give it to Zayn, Corbin, Rusev or maybe even Dillinger
RWE WRESTLING Well thats Not the problem for the Most people their problem is he didnt got any build
RWE WRESTLING ramdy's reign might be boring, but Jinder is boring on himself. His record is 387 loses and 27 wins.
Of course its boring. They only wrestle for the title once a month. Every title reign is boring
If only we could turn adams salt into more heat for Jinder. He'd be the best heel in the company
Super Kawaii Kittens I think your so hot
David Peterson ... from the neck down
Jinder Mahal vs Rusev at MITB
I wanted someone new to win and I got it so I'm happy
I don't mind Jinder winning at all, just because Randy has been a god awful vacuous champion. I'd take putting it on someone new any day over the boring charisma vacuum that is Orton.
YES !!!
randy borton's time is up
Backlash 2016 AJ Syles wins the WWE title for the first time.... A year later. Wow this company is weird.
Dave Olson Fully agreed. It's just so fucking ludicrous ain't it?
Grab your umbrella, because here comes the smark tears!
Jaime Moyano bruh
+Abdikadir Mohamed gir
So much salt in their tears they probably have high blood pressure.
Hate the background music. It doesn't fit.
Bobby J I like it
I've decided to stop reading this comments. Because the fucking logic gaps people have for Mahal becoming champ are fucking driving me crazy.
AJThrash1
I don't mind it on Jinder.
Jinder Mahal being WWE Champion is an embarrassment to the WWE as a whole.
Benjodstand77 live event in India will be the first time when Roman gets a positive reaction since 2015
Benjodstand77 If I'm mexican, can I represent the UK? and use steroids to become the first ever british WWE Champion?
The Great Khali is from India and apparently is a lot more beloved in his home country then Jinder.
Probably cause Jinder is from Canada
You type of fans just complain about everything , its pretty pathetic.
Jack the jobber won a belt in WCPW isn't that not classed as a joke?
He won the DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship, which is a 24/7 comedy championship, so yea it was classed as a joke.
I can't sit through full raw or smackdowns anymore and Jinder Mahal as champion doesn't excite me one bit, but if the people that still watch like it, for whatever reason, that's undeniably good.
So what the fuck is Lesnar doing with the title?
OfLaSoul wanking
OfLaSoul taking lessons from Paige apparently
guys he signed contract with Vince for certain amount of appearance including major ppv , he only gets paid for attaining them , why he will work for free ?
No one is saying he should work for free. You're missing the point. The Universal title has been MIA since Wrestlemania. 2 months and we haven't even seen the champ. So how is that better than having Jinder as WWE Champion? At least we will actually get to see the title.
Brock Lesnar hasnt been unlocked yet. Roman has to complete the story mode to get the title back.
THE MAHARAJA! NO CARBS MAHAL! JINDER MAHAL>BROCK LESNAR!
Randy is just boring,at least smack down feels different now
Boring af
Different, not less boring.
Jinder was bad. Now people hate him rightfully.
Orton tried to Hinder the Jinder, the No.1 Continder and got burnt to a cinder, as a hinder by the Singh brothers helped Jinder Winder Title. I guess it's back to Tinder nights for Orton.
.......Dive
Siddharth Kamath Cleverest comment ever
Siddharth Kamath you're literally proving why Jinder winning is dope for his heel persona and the company...
Edit: LMAO I WAS TRYING TO RESPOND TO THE VIDEO NOT YOUR COMMENT MY B
Siddharth Kamath nice
I wish Matt Hardy was on SmackDown! just to *DELETE* Jinder.
10/10 comment. Well done sir.
Jinder's constant screaming, one dimensional character, skinny calf-ripped upper body reminds me of Sid Justice.
LOL. All of you are getting worked, and Vince loves it.
opencipher It's not because he's a likeable heel. He's gonna be the new x pac.
This is on point...couldn't agree more.
To be honest, his push started at Wrestlemania when he almost won the battle royal
Ryan Coombes if he won the match then yes that a good starting point for a push. But then he kept on getting his ass kicked by this thing called a "Gronk".
Jinder as champ > Roman as champ
Strictly because you are SUPPOSED to boo Jinder.
You could put it this way:
Bob Backlund, Sgt Slaughter, Diesel, Sycho Sid, Vince McMahon, JBL, Sheamus, Dean Ambrose, Jinder Mahal.
^This guy gets it.
So you don't like wrestling as a joke but loved the house of horrors.
Cai He loves it cause it was hilarious.
Cai lol he hated it, he said he loved it because it made him laugh so much.
You can do anything when a title isn't involved but the fact that it's hard to think as Jinder as anything but a jobber, means all that's happened is the the prestigious WWE championship is now beeing held by someone who couldn't be anyone on RAW.
The thing is Orton's last title reign was fucking lame. Things had been done wrong since bray Wyatt lost, when he shouldn't.
Krabbymcnabby yeah but at least he'll be on the shows unlike someone... *cough* Brock lesnar
#Don'tHinderTheJinder

You nailed it Plumpy. We witnessed the death of the WWE Championship last night. And the death of WWE. When your top championship is no longer a serious prize and becomes a joke it's over. There's no recovering from that. The title can never be taken seriously again. It's worthless. This is WWE's David Arquette moment. It's a sad day to be a wrestling fan. The death of history.
