What a wonderful sweater your BIL is very lucky. And thank you for putting together such an interesting and informative video showing your process. You’ve inspired me to order some Woolyknits DK for the Saven sweater.
Exciting to see you knitting a guernsey! I am planning to make one next year (my partner really wants one but I think I'm going to make one for myself first 😅). Yours turned out beuatifully and I love that you included the giftee's initials!
Well done; looks amazing and I am sure you BIL will love it. I finished my first gansey last year, in frangipani on 2.25 mm - I am not blaming you for going for a looser gauge, because mine took around 1.1 kg yarn, and it's a smaller size than the one you made, go figure. If you are serious about doing more of them (and why wouldn't you, really?) then please join us in the Guernseys, Ganseys, Knit-Frocks group on Ravelry; it's an absolute goldmine of information, especially if you are interested in the history of it all.
Hey, I love the gansey! I just bought a cone of Frangipani to knit my brother a gansey, but now I realize that I need two. I bought a gansey pattern book and it's a little overwhelming right now. But yours looks so great, that I want to get started right away. Thanks for posting such a detailed video. 😁
Love the unblocked popeye the sailorman look 😅💖 it turned out amazing! The chevron with the braids look so good
Thanks. The 'popeye' look really amused me too.
Hey Jimmy! Good to see you!

Ohh it's gonna be lovely. I think it's a worsted weight pattern, so double check your yarn choice. I love seeing it in all of the colours.

Thank! I highly recommend making one. This will not be my last. They are fun to make and not very complicated.

Thanks. I'm sure the sweater will be great. It's a super simple construction, so don't worry.
