- Challenger 2 tanks and AS90 self-propelled guns will be provided to Ukraine in their ongoing offensive against Russia, the Prime Minister announced this weekend.
In this video from 2020, we’re taking you on a tour of a Challenger 2 so you can get to know this tank inside out.

"The first thing you'll notice is the"
Me: "Bulldozer!"
"Main Armament"
Me: "Oh yes, of course"
Outside self: ah yes of course
Inner self: 😑 what
This is what they should be advertising on tv.. all the roles
You could bring it down to 30 sec and break it up to like 3 ads each ad with a crew member talking
@Windsor & Epstein Babysitting Services dont know about that ive told them im patriotic and they said they damn hope so
@Windsor & Epstein Babysitting Services im just letting you know what ive experienced from a recruiter which i spoke to two weeks ago i also told him im a royalist to which he said great
Best way to advertise to a younger audience is via the internet like this video anyway.
Windsor & Epstein Babysitting Services marxists like the military;)
Seems like the friendliest bunch of blokes you absolutely would not want to find yourself on the business end of.
Sounds right, spoke to some lads, inquiring about joining the reserves, had a laugh, though genuine "you get us" laugh too
I know the oporator from this tank he’s a great guy from my local rugby team all the army guys in my team are sound guys that do the army proud
where's the tea machine ?
TribalRaid tea machine ( boiling vessel) is usually situated at the rear of the turret between the commander and loaders position, but when tank is action has to be stored elsewhere in turret because of the recoil of the main armament
The whole thing is the tea machine.
Your Communist Overlord. Is they get a direct hit then they turn the enemy directly into tea
The question is relevant, during the landing of Anzio, the English component of a mixed platoon of allied parachutes, at five o'clock in the afternoon, entrenched, stopped the fight and prepared the tea, the Americans got very angry.
BV
What does a tank crew do?
1. Lift heavy stuff.
2. Curse while lifting heavy stuff.
3. Curse much louder when they bash their head on crap in turret
4. Stink. Because everything on a tank stinks.
5. Clean oil stains.... off the tank, off the tank park, off the tank uniform, off the tank crewman
6. Drink beer.
I think that about covers it.
-- Cheers from an old American Cavalry corporal [and fellow tank crewman] who patrolled the Inter German Border likely before most of you lads were born.
-- Godspeed and stay safe, you lot.
Sounds about right. Allons!
Ahhh, the IGB, that takes me back to the mid/late 80s
Change beer for tea and it is more accurate.
Pretty much the same in the British Army, You didn't wear berets but they get covered in oil off your hands every time you put it on, it gets shiney patches on it. Everything stinks of oil and diesel.
@@melbeasley9762 Truth. I had 5 pairs of boots when I was in... and this was back when we still had to spit-shine our boots.
One pair was pristine, un-creased inspection boots. One pair was excellent condition 'wear-on-parade' boots, two pair were well taken care of duty boots, and one pair was oil and gas stained, completely eff'd up motor pool boots that lived inside the track.
This guy was definitely some kind of presenter in a past life ahaha he's so good at presenting
As a Tanker, most of the time you are a Glorified Mechanic. The maintenance on them is endless, and it is only going up with the addition of additional components like Active Protection Systems, Remote Gun Stations, all the highspeed electronics. The Hull and the Turret are like taking care of 2 separate vehicles. They each have about the same amount of manuals.
Well it depends on what role you have, not every role has to partake in repairing the tank
@@elemental7726 no pretty much every role has to help in some way...
@@elemental7726 I went from driver to gunner to operator and in each role I helped one way or another with the maintenance.
@@Grumpyoldgamer310 it’s a team effort that’s why, every member of the forces are this way. But especially being a tanker.
Strange name for a tanker ‘snow white’…. Is that the ‘marching powder’ huh🤣
Gonna join British army from India 🇮🇳 as coronavirus end and army open the commonwealth portal
Heh same here mate. I'm Polish by birth but my loaylty lies with the UK. I was raised there so as soon as this Corona BS is over I'm going back home to the UK and applying for a citizenship. Once I earn it I'm joining the Army.
We'd be grateful to have you!

Happy Armed Forces Day to our soldiers 😍! We celebrate you and we appreciate your sacrifices 🎉 !!! Can’t wait to be part of this great family! Always been my life ambition to join The British Army since I was a kid
Me to mate

@Caleb Viverette 🤣🤣
Go do it I’m 33 to old to join now and it’s the biggest regret of my life there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about it! Don’t make my mistake go live your dream mate !
@@fundermentalist9473 I’m proud and glad to say I’m now serving in the infantry 😀🙏🏿… leaving my dream 🙌🏾🙌🏾🔥
Honestly this is great, the army hardly ever put stuff up of the tank regiments. Enlisting right after A levels! Through mud, blood, and the green fields beyond!
Wow, mate! I want to join them too but I'm a commonwealth citizen(india) and it gonna take a while for me bc of coronavirus, the army stopped commonwealth recruitment, Hope they allow me to join royal tank regiments.
Mud, blood, and a mighty thud
Queens royal hussars, best tank regiment in the british army give them a good look, too busy working for making videos about how great we are 😉
Like the movie "Fury" said ..... Best job I've ever had.
19 year old tank gunner in Germany in the 80's...
Yep. Best job I ever had.
@Your Dad Man, you're a real kill joy! ☹️
B Squadron, 5th Royal Tank Regiment, Fallingbostel, BAOR 38, 18yr old driving Centurion Mk10 and Conqueror heavy gun Tank, wonderful experience, great camaraderie, which is still evident in this video. The driver is right, it is by far the best seat and function.
C Troop, 2nd Sqdn, 11th ACR, Bad Hersfeld mounted on the first generation of M1 Abrams.
And the BEST part about being the driver? You ALWAYS have a place to sleep....
Tip of the Stetson to you, brother.

Proper british morale is a PTSD cure, showing the "we got your back" stuff, genuine stuff too gets more, to get enlisting spur patriotism
I'm definitely joining as a tankcrewman now

Lachlan Chester You don’t need any GCSE’s

KAI U.K. that shows the type of people in the job, if you have em definitely go for a trade
I was a tanker. Work on your upper body strength. While you do have to have (running) endurance and all - tankers need upper body strength to haul (load) the rounds quickly and work with all of the heavy parts on the tank itself. Also, know if you're a loner, tanks aren't for you. The crew is your family. If the crew doesn't work seamlessly, getting home in one piece becomes problematic. Because you have to remember, you are the biggest target on the battlefield - everybody wants to kill you because you are the deadliest thing out there. They make the movies about the special forces but tankers, we kill everything - from helicopters down to those guys that can run 5 min miles, do a thousand press-ups and jump out of airplanes. But I wish you the best and I hope that the unit you end up joining is a good one. Oh, and take care of your knees as well. No one tells you - every time you get off of a tank implies you jumping, usually down to cement or hard ground or something similarly hard .. and you do that a million times and that's hell on your knees.
I noticed Brits is the only military in the world allow such sideburns. It's so stylish.
really happy this came up in my recommended as I'm signing up for the tank regiment end of this year/early next year. I absolutely love the Challenger 2
I may also be. I am hoping that we shall meet.
BEST MILITARY TRAINED IN THE WORLD ….SMALL COUNTRY MASSIVE MILITARY 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
This is a fair advert for recruitment. No pandering to the crazy woke types or appeals to snowflakes.
This is like meet the crew from TF2 except it's with more badassery, Salutations to all the armed forced.
With the tank named “Street Fighter” they missed a chance to make a Street Fighter reference.
Oh they would, if they could get away with it and get a right earful
Clank, clank, I'm a tank.
Beep, Beep, I’m a jeep. 👍🏻
What's it like to work on a tank - well if the government go the way they are thinking then we no longer have to worry about that question.
Now that’s a tank!
Sharpy it’s crazy right!?
Sharpy it looks sexy too
@@thewoo7269 definitely does
@Sharpy if it wasn't for the rifled gun, yes. But I heard you guys like the rifled ones so much. I guess it's still enough for outdated soviet equipment. ps: please get some smoothbore guns for the Challies :)
@@Jan_372 Rifled guns are more accurate, though the ammunition is more expensive and non-compatible with other NATO smoothbore guns. This is why the longest tank to tank kill is held by a Challenger I with a rifled gun.
I love the British and your wonderful accents. Regards from america 🇺🇸 🇬🇧
Tightest band of brothers in the military, the tank crew. Where the SNCO really earns his pay.
Seeing Challenger 1 deployed in the desert 1991 was one of the proudest moments of my military service. "Now that's what I call heavy metal." While Ace of Spades by Motorhead was playing on the cm net.

Hallo Kommandant
That bulldozer rig could come in handy hiding the LFP on War Thunder ngl
The challenger 2 has never been destroyed by enemy fire
Uk military are unbeatable…. They train many other armies in the world…….
a question.... since the sergeant always compare to your "average car"
how big is an average UK car ?
Well it's quite wide, 2 stories tall, can carry a lot of people and is very red. It's a quite famous car, I don't understand how you could forget!
My dream is to join the RTR this video helped me understand more of what it’s like inside of a tank so thank you
Didn't the government just decide to get rid of the tanks?
Christian Petak not old school mate! We most definitely need our heavy armoury.
Fun fact: they making more
I was tempted to join the Romanian armored corps but a machinegunner is cool too I guess
thanks for supporting from Ukrainians!
I’m only 14 but when I join I’m asking to be a tank crewman don’t matter what role i just love tanks
Your going to hate it then, do some research mate
We old tankies are looking and thinking get your beret on right. Cap badge over your left eye.smarten yourselves up lads.
What can you expect from Chav Cav?

British Army needs 500 tanks ,and 2 Armoured Divisions.tell the Conservatives to get to work.
British people have tea in their tanks
these tanks are known as hussein tanks in jordan because the king loves them
Very good tank but we do need more how many have we got 280 aprox ? Plus the surrport elements the worlds a dangerous place thesedays we clearly need a bigger army navy plus airforce for defence and able to take the fight to anyone in the world
Also it needs to be kept under our ownership not the EU pipedreams work with our commonwealth mates along with the usa and those good nations in the world who stand for whats good and right
The video itself this is the right way to go showing what options are job wise in the army and whats expected

Amazing video and quality of production. What a fantastic job!
Very nice - greetings and much respect from a former german soldier :)
Very !! Interesting and the Crew are a Credit to this Great Nation 👏👏👏👏👏🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Can someone explain why the UK sold 55% of BAE Land to Germany, why did they think killing a British owned company was a good idea, the UK lost its biggest Land based system, now RBSL is a German company, the UK only has 45%, so how it that a 'Joint Adventure' ?.
Not to mention by doing so has just killed over 100 years of British Tank design and development, ie, the Challenger 3 is now German not British. Yes the US Abram's uses a German Gun and British Armour, but at least its owned by an American company, unlike the the Challenger 3, with it's Gun - Turret - Design - systems - and more being German but also owned by a German Company now.
6:10 Invisibility mode engaged.
I was the gunner on chieftain in the early 70' s had a new driver who turned out to suffer from claustrophobia. He climbed out of the cab in the middle of a shoot. Almost blew his head off with the.50 browning RMG

A tank designed to win battles pity there's not more of them. Us Aussies should have bought the challenger two ,A real stand alone tank.
Hello. I have a question as an American I’m curious about? Are the founding fathers of the United state still wanted criminals for treason, insurrection and the killing of thousands of British soldiers? If so I have bad news for you as you are an agent of Great Britain especially since you are part of the British army. The founding fathers of the United States are long gone. Not even one is still alive not even the ring leader of the so called illegal army, George Washington. He may be a traitor and criminal according to Great Britain since he’s a former colonel in the British army but he actually became the leader of the United States as president not a king. He didn’t even have total power. For a so called cold blooded murdered he was actually a man of honor. As a matter of fact he got away with those crimes and lived the rest of his life in freedom in America. As for Benedict Arnold if you didn’t know his secret plan to give up West Point to the British was exploited and failed so luckily you and your fellow comrades still to this day do not possess West Point military officer academy. It is well protected in case of a new attack of the British army.
Hey why do you Brits always follow around Americans and Canadians Australians to New Zealanders?
Are they still relevant though? We have seen how anti-tank missiles and drones have pummuled Russian tanks
Are women allowed?
yes, in all roles
I dreamt of crewing one of these, medical screwed me over
If i get in, I'll try to pass top marks for ya

Does anyone know why lcpl is an ooerator. Also commanders beret is dirty
Hes in his work cloths, not on parade.
Every time you put your beret on with your oily hands it transfers to the beret which takes on an oily sheen of its own over time. A Lance Jack can be in any position, but Full Screw is the lowest rank you can be a commander.
@@melbeasley9762 that's strange, the army I was a part of we had standards particularly if you were an nco. Even regular days we paraded outside of shq each morning, uniforms had to be clean and ironed, berets also not even fluffy, and boots clean. Didn't have to wear a beret around the hangar. As for lance corporal he was troop leaders operator or crew commander Charlie callsign in a four tank troop provided of course he completed crewys course, but fulltrack bravo had a different role within the troop.
@@slawomirpalaszczuk4288 We paraded every morning for inspection too, but our working dress was mainly coveralls. You're working on a huge, dirty, oily lump of metal. Your hands are oily and so are your clothes. Boots were polished but we had a parade pair and a working pair which also soaked up the grime. I was on Chieftain which had a notriously unreliable engine. Always leaking from somewhere and guaranteed to break down on exercise, allowing the crew time for a couple of beers. They weren't strict on working dress and drinking was normal on exercise but that was 40 years ago back in the Cold War when we were part of the BAOR. I was in B Sqn, 3rd Tp. I can't remember now if we had a 4th Tp. I think they experimented with 4 troops of three and three troops of four, but it was a long time ago. I joined at 17 and I'm 67 now.
Every soldier thinks they have the best seat. Thats a good tank crew.
My dad used to drive these, always thought they were one of the coolest tanks ever made.

The Brimstone missile is a pretty good idea, seeing a short range SAM missile like a Starstreak would be good for anti drone usage
Put your berets on properly !!!!!!!

Look forward to the new Mk 3 Chally variant coming soon, it will set a new standard for an MBT.🇬🇧🇬🇧✌✌
