Wow when I was 16 working at Dunkin’ Donuts I remember minimum wage was 5.50, now I’m 34 and it’s barely 16$ everyone at my job works double shifts and exhausted Chicago is scary expensive now , great video amigo

Absolutely phenomenal story. You brought me back to my childhood when I used to load hay trucks as a kid. The hard labor community is definitely a different walk of life. What an absolute gem of a story. Some of my most difficult and grueling years were spent on that truck and at first I hated every minute of it. Once you get the hang of it, you earn your right of passage and the sense of accomplishment is overwhelming. I cannot thank you enough for sharing this part of your life with me. This one hit home. Thanks for commenting Tony and for tuning in. Dad was not the easiest person to live with but as a teenage we were worlds apart. As I grew older and became a father myself we grew closer and our differences began to fade. So glad you enjoy my videos my friend....take care....:)

The logging, oil, blue collar industries are all the same when it comes to language lol! Same goes for politeness on radios today, thats why I'll call the tower crane operator on his cell phone to chew him out 😂

So even though you posted this video 5 months ago, it’s probably my go-to video to listen to of yours. First let me say I love all your content. Amazing stories and you truly perfected your audio. But I thought wow, I must’ve watched this video of yours well over 200 times. No kidding. So I thought hmm, I wonder what his most viewed videos are. So I thought maybe you should make a video to celebrate the end of the year and talk about your top 3 or top 5 videos with the most views and just talk about where you started and where you are in the community.

My grandparents when they first married didnt have a penny to there name so they moved to a town called Timber here in oregon up in the woods with one small school, one tavern, one small grocery store and a railroad track that goes down the middle of the road all owned by the owner of the logging company my grandpa worked for him, they rented one of his houses, they drank at his bar and they bought groceries at his store ive only visited Timber once in my life as its remote and pretty much a ghost town now the house they lived in is still standing and the tracks are actually right infront of the house, if i can find a picture ill send it to your email. You talking about logging reminded me of some of these stories or memories my grandpa being one of 18 children from immigrants from russia and germany weve got quite a bit of stories.

I have seen many places like you described that were once booming and bustling but now have only abandoned train tracks or grain elevators to remind us. Personally I would like the talking and eating separate. Ive always wondered what happen if they ran out of trees? I e slways imagined once they cleared one big atea they would move else where an someone would go in an replant nee trees am the trees only take a few years to grow
I knew a lot of people back in the 70s who would go tree planting, sounds easy but it can be very hot, you are always bending over and those side hills are rocky and steep. Thanks for tuning in Mason...:)

You would enjoy a movie called Joe with Nicholas Cage. Worth a watch. And a movie called Fire in the Sky. About a man named Travis who is a logger an they are out in camp an they encounter a UFO. Based on a true story.

Well Sweetphantasy, Burger King is close by and their food is always hot. I have everything ready to roll so as soon as I get back I start recording. Now there have been times I have had a technical issue that hold me up but I do have a microwave if need be. If I get food from some place further away I wrap it up in my re-usuable grocery bags and turn on my seat warmer...lol.Lately our weather has been well into the mid to high 80,s so turning on the seat warmed seems a bit extreme. Thanks so much for your continued support...;)

$7.50 an hour is a TON of money per hour today. Your job was essentially $50 an hour today. And people wonder why it’s so hard to get your life started today lol

@@samuelrohl7359 yeah and $7.50 is pretty close to what jobs still pay. Manual labor like logging is usually closer to $20 because of the danger but getting more than that is difficult. To have that buying power today you need some solid experience and a college degree most likely. Some exceptions obviously but not many.
I have to agree that things are very out of whack these days. When I was a kid most moms stayed home, now most moms have to work and it has been that way for many years now. Years ago my parents lived off my dad's one single monthly paycheck....hard to imagine. people now a days don't have a chance, just look at the price of real estate. I have three kids and not one of them own property. $ 7.34 was HUGE money back then Hippiemagic and to some it is still a good wage I suppose. Thanks for tuning in my friend.....stay cool....;)
