  • It took me forgetting to reinstall my engine oil dipstick to discover that I had a fluid leak causing smoke to appear after driving the car at speed. Every possible check I could make to find where the oil residue was coming from while on the trip gave no indication as to the source. It was not until getting the car on the lift that I discovered the leak was not with the oil system from the engine but actually a pin-hole leak caused by a tiny stone in the auxiliary transmission fluid heat exchanger.
This video also shares the fluid path taken from the transmission's 190-degree thermostat, rearward along the tunnel along the hot exhaust pipe to the eLSD differential, then heading forward again past the hot exhaust to the front of the engine, just behind the hot radiator of the engine. From this point, the heated ATF going into the top of the engine coolant radiator on the driver's side and exits at the bottom, going into the horizontally mounted Aux transmission cooler. From the Aux tranny cooler, it makes the path along the passenger side of the engine just inside the exhaust system and turns at the catalytic converter before crossing over under the engine oil pan and back into the transmission.
My plan is to separate all five systems, engine coolant, engine oil cooling, supercharger cooling, transmission cooling and the rear differential cooling.

Separate cooling systems are the right way to go. Good find David, hope you can get it done can't wait to see the finished work.

It is my understanding you can get to that one by removing the fender liner and can access it that way. I have a new front support for my bumper on the way, so I will be able to answer this with better completion in a week.
