Add to your first point, it's not even that cheap in the provinces! Stayed in one of the provinces where I grew up in when I went back to the Philippines. Our backyard was ricefields as far as the eye can see. The local grocery store? Meat and veggie prices were equal to and sometimes more expensive than the Costco I go to in New York. And I say this as someone with who stayed in the Philippines while having a remote job earning USD Manhattan salary, the Philippines *is not cheap*. I feel so bad for the locals
Regarding the food: I live in thailand and now on vacation at Manila and its food is really, I mean REALLY bad. To be fair, let's compare capital with capital. Thailand, Bangkok: several family shops every 10 to 100 meters selling fruits and vegetables. The fact that thailand has a world known gastronomy speaks volume. Philippines: nobody ever heard of fine filipino cuisine. I struggle to find fruits & veg here except bananas...one must go to a supermarket. Granted you may reply that I haven't searched well enough; my point is that in Bangkok, you dont need to search: good healthy food is ubiquitous. Everything in Manila has an excess of fat, oil, and especially sugar. The mocha & latte are unbearably sweet. Of course that if you pay for a 4-5star restaurant, you'll get good quality. I do agree that so far I feel safer than in the west. But not as safe as in Thailand although thailand raises the bar to an impossible height. One never fears about snatching phones in Bkk. Once a guy ran after me by scooter to give me back a 1000baht bill that slipped off my pocket. This is how thailand is safe and honest. So not fair to compare heaven to Philippines...
I don’t have time to read that novel drop a video on your channel. Try nobu restaurant inside city of dreams try Italiani‘s and Bgc try wildfloour. Try salad stop try Vikings buffet and SMR mall try Hossiens Makati or Bgc. Try contis I can keep going.
2k a month you live awesome awesome life: food here sucks lived here 7 years. You can’t get good food easily like other countries. Rest of 5 are true.great video
Nice video! I’m here in Manila been here for awhile going to boracay Thursday. I don’t see dating as hard at all here I guess everybody’s experience is different I’m not Chad tall enough decent looking upper 40’s. I get hit up by 25 year olds all the time!
You know you are right if you a bitch at home you l will be a bitch here. I do not take bs from women I am very kind but I stopped dealing with female fuckery long ago. Haha.
Exactly if you’re a goofy reject, you’re still a goofy reject and a place like Manila Manila is very very westernized if you’re a semi or you know how to speak well and you look decent your value is a couple notches higher, even in a manila or a Boracay
The General Rule of thumb Things in phillipines on average cost about 1/5 the price you will pay for something comparable to things in the USA. Jasper is 100% correct it is possible to live on 500 USD a month but most americans will not like that lifestyle. If you want affordable stay away from Metro Makati and BGC those are the most expensive places in Phillipines. I have known people who live on 1200 USD a month for a family of three but this is in Provinces or the suburbs of Cebu, Davao, Iloilo they also tend to eat at home most of their meals. It is much easier to find a woman in phillipines but it is not a slam dunk or playing Video games with all the cheat codes. My advice to people once they land their plane is don't go hunting for women just socialize a lot. First 6 months with all the free time you have go to the damn gym and get yourself in shape you got nothing else to do. Cut your Hair and Trim your beard preferably shave. Filipinas do not like hair. If you got body hair in the right places trim it down and make it look clean. If you happen to look like a gorilla having hair in the wrong places wax it off. That looks disgusting especially if you are fat. If you drink Don't be a damn alcoholic and don't stink of cigarettes. Drink plenty of water so when you sweat you don't stink and bath 2-3 times a day. phillipines is very hot.
The other thing with regards to "danger" - If you are stupid enough to try & flaunt how rich/better off you are (jewellery/phones/watches/money etc) ... you will more than likely be a target & you deserve it, really.
Everyone is going to the Philippines and they want to be the first to tell you about it. The does and don'ts of the Philippines. The filipina's are tellin you the same thing, but good video.
It's ok if its a nice city in the province, like Iloilo City or Legazpi. Lots of nice girls places like that if you don't like the one you're meeting. Still have great lodging and amenities.
I visited earlier this year and their roads and traffic probably inspired the movie Mad Max. LOL Online it was no problem meeting women by the dozens but much difference experience if you're not online and trying to meet by just walking around.
@@pa4765 Depends on the age group. I was mainly looking at 40+ and only a few were scammers. Maybe they were insincere but few scammers. Now if I'm in my 50's and chasing after 20 year olds then yes I would assume that 90% are scammers and insincere. Duh!? LOL
You talking about the guy who was shot in Makati last year? The story I heard, he was from NZ, 2 guys on a motorcycle stopped to rob him and his filipina. He wouldn't give up his wallet and they shot. So sad.
You can definitely live a nice life on 1000 a month. Filipinos do it on 300. You can rent a studio apartment or sometimes a 2 bed house for 200 to 400 a month. It’s doable. In the us we would struggle a bit but still live a good life on 4000 a month. Picture the cost in the phillipines to be a quarter of that. Because it is. If you are trying to live in bgc or makati or siquijor or panglao or Bohol you may need 2000 to 3000 a month but not many other places in the Philippines have that high cost of living. You need to get out of those areas.
I agree with all but the dating. I felt I could have easily have gotten a super hot 20 year old gf in cebu city if I wanted. I was 44 in 2019. Though I wanted someone closer to my age so that I could relate better to her. Happily married for 2 years with my girlfriend from cebu city.
Could’ve should’ve would’ve. If you had you would’ve realized A. They might prefer a 25 yr old and got with you for the wrong reasons. B. There is money expectations.
@@JasperinthePhilippines I am here all the time. Why are you gaslighting people? I have lived and traveled extensively throughout Asia for 16 years. I should know. Food in Thailand great. Food in Malaysia great. Food in Vietnam pretty good. Food in the Philippines pretty bad.
Was just there for two weeks. Everything you said is true. One thing you missed is just how much third world poverty there is there. People live in actual sheds. Flea ridden dogs everywhere. White beach is beautiful though. Puka is okay. More of a beach for locals. You can get 10’s but you are paying for free lancers on Tinder. Currently in Da Nang. Much cleaner. Cheaper but a lot. Beach is not as beautiful but the overall scenery makes it nicer. Not the dating paradise Passport bros make it out to be. Better but not woman throwing themselves at you. You still need game.
You have to be a social person to do well in the Philippines. Money only gets you so far here. Its all about networking. In Thailand and Vietnam, money is enough. That's why they are very popular with Chinese. Those guys don't have personality, they just know how to make and spend money. They do terrible in the Philippines. Money will only get you bad girls and bad company, here. People live in shacks because there is no social welfare system. You have to work for money. You can't just have babies and get paid for them, or be 300 pounds stuck at home on food stamps. There's way more poor people in the US, but taxpayers are keeping them housed and fed.

Good info. Straight to the point. Very similar to Thailand in all regards especially about women.
Yup
Thanks
Touristy areas are expensive here but if you go out somewhere else its a lot cheaper, po. Enjoy the real Philippines.
Yup.
I have a place in the province.
Food doesn't suck in the Philippines? You're right, but Filipino food does.
Except for maybe chicken adobo, pancit, halo-halo, and pandesal. Otherwise, no thanks!
Ok
I like chicken adobo/sisig/tocino and pancit haven’t tried much else
High on quantity. Low on quality. Probably like the crap food he consumes and tries to pass off as great food.
Ok
There is tons of food available here. You don’t have to eat pinoy food
And that’s YOUR OPINION.
