These are awesome. I'm old enough to remember when solos on pop tunes were a real thing. Hard to better Eddie's solo from Beat It. It was not long after that that it was seen as cliché. And radio formats required shorter tracks and something had to give. But occasionally I still get asked to play solos on pop records by producers. One that never got released was an 8-bar solo I did on a Justin Bieber/Taylor Swift track years ago.
this video didn't blow up simply for the fact that no solos have any memorable parts, although the note choice and technique is really cool, nothing sticks with you.

There’s guitarist who don’t really shred but they have a personal sound, a passionate sound, like Javier Reyes.
Víctor Manuel Serna anyone, really? Maybe anyone that starts practicing now 8 hours a day for at least a year. Sure pal, let’s find a thousand of them just by the corner willing to acomplish all of that.
Enrique Flores Bendezú do you play man? It does not take 8 hours a day for a year to achieve that. If you’re playing for 8 hours a day, you could probably reach that level in 2, maybe 3 months.
This deserves to be in everyone recommendations.
It’s been in mine for days. I just watched this and I’m willing to bet that this’ll be in everyone’s recommend in a few years lol
5:30 aha! Got 'em with that sneaky lick
The Fucking Licc.
The Rockstar solo makes sense considering Post Malone was originally in a metalcore band. And that Shape Of You solo’s nice too.
I think post malone is a big metal fan, considering he collaborated with Ozzy Osbourne, plays some guitar solos, and has Dimebag tattood on his finger

Jaro van Duren he stuck to the wrong genre. I think he only went with rap bc it’s what’s popular rn
If pop songs had guitar solos they would just be...
j o h n m a y e r s o n g s
Exactly my first thought when I saw the title.
The problem is John Mayer is actually a good writer
Why is this so real lmao
Or Michael Jackson's
Songs pre 2010 or thereabouts

Auto-tune would be useful if you have a guitar that plays the 12th fret out of tune 😄
This video is gonna a blow up... wait for it
Still waiting
this video didn't blow up simply for the fact that no solos have any memorable parts, although the note choice and technique is really cool, nothing sticks with you.
MoraesMusician No it‘s because he played so many solos. They are all well shaped around the main melodys of the Song. If you can‘t differentiate this from random fast doodeling you should train you ear. This guy is fucking balling
@@Jp-ps8fr He is amazing, however Moraes was right with SOME of the solo's. You were right with most of them, especially the Old time road one and the Havana solo.
Yea it's gettin there now
Good to see drake playing guitar to his own song.
I came to the comments to see this
Oof
Hely hecc he does look like drake
White Drake
HAHAHAHA YES I JUST COMMENTED THE SAME
Crazy must have million subs!
Are plainly overly used fa'st notes gives you goosebumps? No? So are the majority of his viewers. Yes? Perhaps you also like Justin Bieber.
KaKaDu YT how did you manage to be an elitist with such a simple comment, like actually how is that possible
@@jacoblbarton okay okay I wont do it again, stop crying
2:19 sickest harmonic I have ever heard.
This guy is sooo fluid in the way he plays, and the guitar tones he uses fits perfectly. He's phrasing is awesome.
These solos made me smile because they’re genuine
Salah, u did really well. Didn't know u can play.
Your Awesome, bro.
If pop songs had guitar solos, they would sound like a Michael Jackson song.
oh yea u right
And that's why MJ is pop king
MJ loved rock music, mans wanted the guitar in any song possible
More like john mayer
All of this just sounds too 90s early 2000s and I’m happy we just stopped forcing guitars in every single song.
Now we have rap verses. 😂
(Nothing against rap)
You’re playing style is a mix of Plini, Polyphia, Owane, and Intervals. It sounds fucking amazing. I guarantee at least 2 or 3 of those artists are huge influences for this guy.
He's a kind of Djentlemen
Damn that starting of old town road puts a genuine smile
This guy has an amazing ear for music to create these solos. Playing random notes of a scale is easy no matter how fast it is played. Playing each note to match a particular tune is skill.
I think old town road should have had an accoustic guitar solo with a western feel to it.
Or a slide/steel solo.
@@martyscovers2022 yes that would have fit very well too
Which one is your favourite?
Heres some more 'Pop Song Guitar Solos' I've done in the past:
Taylor Swift: ruclips.net/video/aYg3jVABcNs/видео.html
Jay Z/Linkin Park: ruclips.net/video/C2Pg_bTlytU/видео.html
Hopsin Remix: ruclips.net/video/RKSBttJE-BM/видео.html
the one with the horse, but all of them are dazzling and well suited to the respective song.
The Old town road solo is sick!!!!!!!
ROCKSTAR!!❤💖🔥
Can't pick one, they are all great! Havana caught me off guard though-- really nice job with the latin flavored melodies.
RoyZivMusic Todos! 😎🤙🏻
Amazing tone. Beautiful sound. Solos actually propose something, not just crazy shredding without any feeling at all.
Why is it I can only hit the like button one time? This guitar playing is unbelievable!
I expected to see the same video I’ve seen with this same concept, but I’m not kidding, this video was insane. The solos were original to each song and the tone was perfect to match it. You nailed it.
Extreme talent!! Just feel like not every solo has to be shredded but just IMO
If Havana had a guitar solo/riff by Carlos Santana alike his song ' Smooth' ...
Someone did this on RUclips
