I've had that Teenage Summer. It was 1991. The Woodface album was the soundtrack. I was in full Pursuit. This song captures that time perfectly.

I feel Elroy is really channeling Paul Hestor's drumming with the cocktail drum kit here. You can hear Paul in his drumming quite a lot. I really like this song. To me this is the single. Oh Hi didn't really land like this with me. Still my favorite band for decades.

I heard Neil on a podcast the other day saying how Paul Hester had taught Elroy how to play the snare drum with brushes so I guess it's perfectly possible that he could have taught him other stuff on the drums too🤔

This is a beautiful song with lush arrangements that allow every member to display their skills. Nick's bassline is superb, Elroy is simply a Master, Mitchell's subtle but crucial parts, and of course the World Tag-Team Champions 'Neil and Liam'... what more can we ask for? Wow. This song is just vintage crowded house. I've been such a fan of "Crowded House 2.0" since the reunited. "Dreamers are Waiting" is an amazing album. This new song proves they are still songwriting juggernauts. Cannot wait for the new album.

One of the best gigs i went was 1992 bradford st georges hall. Crowded house with tim finn as support act. Tim came out first, then neil and tim then crod3d house doing the woodface album...a fantastic night...paul hester trying to share some beer and chocolate cake with the people on the balcony was a funny if not messy moment...great memories

Question to uk radio listeners... have any of the songs released so far done anything radio wise as in been played regularly? Oh Hi...anything else released? I saw a UK TV appearance by Neil & nick promoting album ( in March!) and a snippet of " oh, hi " but nothing else ??
Oh Hi - was played a lot on radio 2 - Neil and Nick did the radio 2 Piano Room which was fantastic and oh Hi was on the Radio 2 Playlist, on their B list, for 4 weeks so it had quite a lot of exposure, hopefully this song will get playlisted too since they are premiering it on Zoe Ball's breakfast show.
