    They should updated the instructions to just say..
    “Pull so hard you feel like you are going to break it.”

      Yeah thanks to your comment, I got it done because I was trying to take the wiper cap off and felt like if I pulled any harder, I would break it. However, after reading your comment, it reassured me that was what I needed to do and it worked!

      Yes, Bosche seem to lack certain skills like picking up a telephone or replying to a query.
      I have seen the same across product lines..
      They seem lacking in certain skills

    This wiper blade is very easy to use if you are using the pre-installed mount. Otherwise removing it to use the other adapters is extremely difficult because the instruction manual is global and doesn't have any language in it. Just a bunch of generic photos doesn't make the removal seem very easy but actually very difficult. There is no troubleshooting whatever

    • @jamescagney2713
      @jamescagney2713 Год назад +1

      Yes, and no..
      I happen to be a qualified mechanic, not to the cheap end of the market like vw , but on the Rolls Royce and Bentley end.
      The apprenticeship is about the same though in college, on basics so the specialised side may be harder.
      But why?
      I can remove an engine on a VW beatle in less than 15 mins on my own even though I am not trained on that, and I have a disability.
      Why should it take a web search to figure how to swap out wiper blades for a modern Vollkswagen?

    Well ain’t that something I don’t wish to do for a very long time! Worst instructions ever!
    Took me 40 minutes to finally decide to look up a dang video! I thought I was going to break the wipers if I pulled any harder to remove the piece that came with the wiper. Turns out I had to pull even harder. Finally I was successful.

      Yeah, lucky for me my car came as standard with no wiper blades as do most cars from new so fitting factory recommended blades was easy.
      I dread the day I need to replace them though as the idiots at bosh do not give any detail on that.

  • @jimrizzo2731
    @jimrizzo2731 5 лет назад +11

    In stead of "pull f-ing hard", try prying the original attachment off with a screw driver. There are two sets of little prongs on each side of the underside of the adapter that you can gently pry out to more easily remove the adapter. Also, don't show someone with dainty little hands and polished nails removing something that a weightlifter would have trouble with. :-)

    • @jamescagney2713
      @jamescagney2713 Год назад

      no
      They can be removed without a screwdriver.
      Depends on the set mind, but screwdrivers are not required I think.
      The modern blades for miner now manufactured in china an the lack of quality is plain to see.
      Bosche seem reluctant ant to address the lack of quality, but lets face it, they never got back on any issues prior.
      Perhaps they are incompetent, perhaps they are plain rude.
      Both imo.

    Removing the plastic piece is not as easy or as smooth as it shows. Basically you have to rip it off and it’s makes a noise like you broke it.

    I swear to god these are such a pain in the ass if your car doesnt use the pre installed adapters they really should sell these seperately with different adapters attached other than that these wipers are very reliable.

      So true i just installed mine, it was a pain taking the preinstalled adapters that it came with off. Man she made it look easy! She didn't even brake a nail. I nearly cut myself several times lol. I need to hit the gym again maybe thats why.

    The adapters are pointless when the adapter it comes with won’t even come off. They make it look so easy in this video, yet it won’t budge. These wipers are shit and I feel like I just wasted soooo much money because they cost so damn much.

  • @TB-wn7vy

    Just over $80 for two Bosch ICON blades only to realize after several hours that *Bosch Icon blades are not compatible with top-lock wiper arms* ... period.
    Bosch 'advertises' the blades having a "universal" adaptor for all wiper arm types. As it turns our, their "universal" adaptor is not universal - unless they mean using duct tape to attach Icon blades to a top lock wiper arm. Because Icon adaptor doesn't work - it's not even CLOSE to working. Unless you have duct tape or a welding torch. _Furthermore_ the package itself contains no instructions. Whatsoever. Nada. Zip. Zero. Not one word. All they provide is these also word-less videos with terribly annoying music especially annoying when you've spent hours trying to connect blades to your car that in fact, cannot be attached. Bosch, you're not even within Hubble telescope range of "half assed" in this product and support. And for $80+ you frankly should be ashamed.
    Bosch, you 've lost a customer for any of your goods. Ever. Icon are supposed to be the 'higher end' model yet you provide false advertising of "universal adaptor" that won't fit top lock arms, in a package without a speck of instructions. That $82.34 is the very last penny you'll ever get from me. Pennies which I can't claw back because *YAY* opened wiper blades cannot be returned to the auto parts store where I got them. "Bosch policy" the man said. And totally not surprising in retrospect.
    *RATING: 0 out of 5 stars*

    • @Horizon301.

      Why so expensive? Wipers should cost no more then £20 for any car, even with a rear wiper blade.

    • @midjehunt7424
      @midjehunt7424 Год назад +1

      Yeah, the distributor capacitor for a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow was the same as a BSA A65 I recall but had different prices.
      Tell us the make and model of the car you were quoted $80.00 for wiper blades and we may be able to get a better price for you.
      If I find a cheaper alternative that is not bosch I will post it as I have no respect for the idiots at bosch.

    Bosch appear to have no complaints line and only one telephone number to cover 6 areas of contact all of which where unavailable a few weeks ago.
    The lack of a complaints department means even if you manage to ge through to anyone, they can treat the customer like crap.
    They all state if you manage to get through on any line that they reserve the right to record messages, but are not keen on the customer recording messages and have a habit of putting the phone down before you even start.
    Very rude.
    Waste of time Bosch employing them even if they cannot do simple tasks.
    Sack them all and use a different species of monkey perhaps.
    In the meantime I move all my household, garden, and automotive products to other manufacturers..
    Some are cheaper, some more expensive, but I don't mind taking the risk as long as I do not have to waste time with Bosch.
