I hate the fact that they're using MM1/2 9/10 damage sound. That's outdated. MM9 and 10 were actually "an omage to the roots", meant to omage MM1 and MM2 (which is why they don't even have slide or charge), that's why the damage sound in 9 and 10 sounds like in MM1 and 2. That doesn't mean it's the standard again now. If Capcom makes new 8bit games that are not omage to 1 and 2 but a continuation to where 6 as the last NES game left off, they would use the sounds from MM 3 4 5 and 6, including the damage sound. I hope the other version (there's another 8bit MM&Bass in the works) will have the sounds from 3-6 and RM7 FC (RM8 FC also deviated a little bit with an unique sound). And this version just seems too plain, the sprites and often the background are not detailed enough. I hope they'll work on the sprites a little bit more. Those penguins in Cold Man's stage couldn't be more basic than they are
I know about the other Mega Man and Bass FC, I happen to be on the development team for it. I'm not allowed to show video footage right now, but I can say that it does feature the Mega Man 3-6 damage sound. However, the demake itself is a lot less faithful to the original Mega Man and Bass, and takes a lot of liberties when converting things to 8 bit. (A lot of them unnecessary in my opinion) If you want a more faithful demake similar to the other FC games this is the one to go, if you want more of a full on remake of Mega Man and Bass, the other version is for you. That's why I like there being 2 in production, there's one for both crowds. I will relay the critiques of the dame sound to the devs of this version, as its an easy fix or may have been an oversight.
@@raincloud5449 gotcha. And I understand that you can't show any visual footage or talk much about the other MMBas game, that's completely fine, I'm not one of the impatient guys. All I want you guys is to finish the game, and I don't have to have any demo, video footage or whatever. Knowing that the progress is being made and the game is in the works, is enough. But yeah, your words now sound kinda disappointing. As I really had my hopes with that other game. A little that was shown in Triple Squid's 20th aniversary announcement video, looked really promissing, and better than what we can see in this demo. I did comment (a long comment) under that video, with some of the suggestions. I also joined a Discord for the game, but I don't actually check Discord often (almost never, to be honest). I didn't think it'd deviate that much. If it was just as faithful as RM7 and 8 FC, I'd be pleased.
And, by the way, since you're a developer (or part of a team) yourself; do you think we'll ever get this game in 8bit: ruclips.net/video/uMlKjyDNxw8/видео.html&ab_channel=NintendoComplete It's Mega Man and Bass 2. Released only in Japan. In my opinion, that game is very suitable to be converted to NES-like MM 8 bit game. There's a lot of potential definitely. Is there a chance this game could be suggested to some developers? I think after MM&Bass is done, there are 2 more games that should receive the "8bit NES/FC" treatment: this game, and Mega Man V for Game Boy (with the planets robot masters). Of course, needless to say Mega Man 11 too, but there was a guy (Spanish language talking I think) developing Rockman 11 FC, but hasn't updated anything in a year, not sure if the game is still in the works
@@BegUltra Thanks for understanding about the not being able to show stuff from the project, I know some people do get angry when progress isn't shown. If it eases your mind any, I can say that the deviations are mostly adding new side stuff, and changes to the overall level design. But I am fighting within the project the most to keep things similar to the other fcs though, if that helps any.
