Barnsey, Farnsey and a splash of Diesel on guitar. Three Aussie legends!
Be as fucking excited as you want!!! Why wouldn't you?? They were great.
Hard to compare modern singers to old skool, since auto tune is so prevalent these days. Its a shame as you don't get the same goosebumps anymore. Oh should do this one live....sooo much better!

Cheers buddy … yes I’ll definitely maintain my excitement for future reactions and I’m going to check out the live version for sure ✌️ Yeah I agree … there’s a lot of production in live settings now with big artists so it’s difficult to connect sometimes like we did in the old days - it’s probably a generational thing.. there’s still some fantastic singers around but I suppose it’s just a different era .. I prefer the old skool ☺️☺️

I heard John was so blind, he couldn't find his car (thank goodness. Imagine what might have happened if he went to drive? I shudder to think). I think, as the story goes, that he couldn't tell the taxi driver where he lived either. How pissed must he have been?😂 Must have been fun on the set.

John Farnham is a total vocal legend, as is Jimmy, but for different reasons. Their voices complement each other so well. Diesel, who plays guitar and contributes to the chorus, is also an amazing singer, songwriter and musician in his own right 😊 There are a couple of live versions of this track that features all three & is even better than the recorded version.

Jimmy Barnes was a member of the rock group Cold Chisel, then went on to a solo career. Like John Farnham, Jimmy has the ability to sing most genres; but two of his most successful solo albums have been in the genres of blues and soul. This song is from Jimmy's Soul Deep album, and performed at many of his concerts.

    Great reaction
Jimmy barnes is a GOD in Australia
He was lead singer in band called cold chisel who many think are best band to come out of Australia even ahead of AC/DC and INXS ..
    Some of there songs are
    Bow river
    When the war is over
    Wild thing (cover)
    Choir girl
    Forever now
    Cheap wine
    Khe sahn
    Saturday night
    Flame trees
You’ve got nothing I want (written as a f*ck you to the US music executives)
    Plus heaps more songs
Jimmy solo career also is epic he has heaps of songs like
    Working class man
When a man loves a woman (cover)
Knocking on heavens door (sung at a memorial)
    Change gonna come
Plus duets with Tina (simply the best) and INXS (good times) and many more
Jimmys kids are all musical his daughter Mahalia barnes is great singer plus Jimmy had son at 16 who thought Jimmy was family friend and that his mum was his sister until he was 10.. his name is David Campbell and he is also a singer and is a morning TV host in Australia he has also sung
You will never walk alone with his dad (cover).
Heaps of US of people have reacted to Jimmy barnes and cold chisel on YT and all have been blown away by Jimmys voice and all have said how did cold chisel not make it big in the US.. it was due to thevUS music executives who wanted to change them and they said no thanks and come home)

Yes these two are great mates. Even though they were both competing for top spots in the charts at the same time, it didn't stop them putting together one of the most amazing duets ..when John was sick last year, Jimmy was right there supporting him....then when Jimmy had heart surgery recently ..John was there to support Jimmy and give him the lift that he needed. John has become very reclusive since his cancer surgery removed part of his jaw. So it was nice to hear that he was supporting Jimmy

Jimmy Barnes began his career as a screaming rock singer and then explored soul. John Farnham started out as a squeaky clean imaged, pop star who initially found the image hard to shake. As he matured, he challenged himself with other genres. This song illustrates where he challenged himself with Jimmy’s style and Jimmy was generous to allow John a lot of space in what was essentially recognised as his song. Having a great deal of respect for each other, this pair consider themselves lifelong friends. They are both masters of their craft.
As already suggested, try Jimmy Barnes and Joe Bonamassa doing “Stone Cold” and Jimmy Barnes and Tina Turner doing “Simply the Best” for starters. Jimmy Barnes has a very large catalogue for you to explore both in Cold Chisel and as a solo artist.
Thank you for the lovely reaction. I’m subscribing. 🙂

My work done and now I’ve viewed your complete chat. Love where you’re at. Hopefully Old School will become New School in the future what with all the RUclips reactions. Do you love duets? Who doesn’t? Good voices come from good ears and two sets make a duet.
Farnham is loved for his duet with Olivia Newton John, Please Don’t Ask Me but I expect there were many others. Jimmy has sung with loads of people - famous for doing Simply The Best with Tina Turner when he was younger which was great but I really like a thing on RUclips he did a while ago called Live - My First Gig where he invites other Au singers or maybees just Sydneysiders into his lounge room to talk about the song that first got them into music - and then they sing that song. it’s totally striped back beyond “unplugged” and I’m not suggesting you react to it , … unless you want to, but I just thought you’d enjoy it.

Yes . . . but . . . NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO00000000000000ooooooooooooooooooooo ! Meaning, the LIVE version is SOOO much better ! ALWAYS view LIVE concerts with John where he shines ! Please react to both of them singing this song at the ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards before the cream of the Aussie music scene. You'll see and hear more and better vocal gymnastics and see wonderful the essence of the men. While John IS 'The Voice' in Oz, Jimmy is the runner-up. Jimmy has admitted this and has sung John's praises in public.
To introduce you to another fantastic singer, please react to a funny, different side of John's singing with another fabulous Aussie singer, Anthony Warlow, of musical theatre genre in a duet singing, 'Granada,' at the Main Event Concert. I think that you'll love it !

Your extra spiel was so interesting! Pretty sure jimmy's voice is God given but I think this album was quite a different style of singing for him, he came from a hard rock band before this. I kinda sneakily feel like he was an influence on John pushing his voice to a more powerful rock sound in his 30s.

It’s the same sort of history as Olivia Newton John, who was born in the UK in 1948 and came out when 5 to Melbourne. Both
worked in the industry in Melbourne in the 1960's and eventually Olivia ended up back in the UK and then the US. John became
the King of Pop with the 1967 hit ‘Sadie the Cleaning Lady.’ He was in the LITTLE RIVER BAND. John had his chances to work in

Dixon Swan' and his father was a featherweight boxing champion in Glasgow. In 1961/62 his family moved to Australia. After
playing in a school band (he replaced Bon Scott (who joined AC/DC) as lead vocalist in the band Fraternity. Then, aged 16 and a
half, he joined Cold Chisel in 1973. First they played the pubs of Adelaide, then they played the pubs of Australia and finally they

Excellent reaction! This was Jimmy Barnes mid career. Check out a much younger Jimmy singing Khe Sanh from Cold Chisel's debut album: ruclips.net/video/dTjvG4WJD_A/видео.htmlsi=DMMdpT2bm5XUOpKn (I've suggested the lyric version because the words powerfully reference an Aussie soldier back from the Vietnam War) and then fast forward to an older Jimmy singing Stone Cold feat. Joe Bonamassa on guitar: ruclips.net/video/IyXFHr5jylI/видео.htmlsi=0EUh-UzzwGwjGSiT
2 more Cold Chisel must watches: Bow River 2003 Ringside ruclips.net/video/TdVRNDnTKTU/видео.htmlsi=ajKvlliPHhJR5UOG the whole band are great but guitarist Ian Moss gets a chance to sing as well and Jimmy doing the wildest version of Wild Thing ever ruclips.net/video/oQ19NWzA8TA/видео.htmlsi=9QtleZ0wwk4vYnrh

They are also good friends. The guitarist is Jimmy's brother in law Diesel he can sing as well

You should see more Jimmy, with Cold Chisel and check out Kasey Chambers singing Lose yourself.

Do yourself a favour and check out one of the live performances of this. This in comparison to the live one's is average.
