Brilliant work as usual Neil, thank you so much for this great content. Older Alfas have to be saved and kept on the roads for sure. Keep up the great work 👍👍
Hey there! Excellent channel my friend! I’m Damian from Uruguay and I have a 155 2.0 16V... Here this car is pretty rare! Your channel is becoming my bible! 💪💪💪
From my Tipo and Brava experience I would check all the old factory underseal for water penetration because it can be a real problem with rust festering underneath...
And another one gets saved from oblivion. Always istructive. Also when you do not own one of the featured cars. Thanks for another nice late sunday evening treat (which is my most typical moment to watch your content). :-).
Great Stuff when i saw the infamous exhaust guard it brought back very bad memories my car is factory lowered a manhole cover which was sticking up a bit more than normal because lorries had been been using the road and compressed the tarmac around the cover I was only doing 3mph and then bang my sump emptied all over the floor since then its been ok running without the guard Bin it
I love how Neil is all like, "yeah, bolt snapped. carry on." meanwhile I'm at the beginning of my Alfa journey and would lose sleep over a snapped bolt. LOL
Wow, that's some corrosion on the cam cover area! Marginally worse than mine before I took it off the road (145) - usually a good indicator of what the subframe and floorplan will be like..
I gave my Rosso Pink J reg 8 valve 2 litre 155 away to a young enthusiast for a token £100...134k miles with stacked rear wing and Simoni lettering. Needed the suspension bushes doing and the oil light wouldn’t extinguish even though full. Any ideas? I had so much fun and wallet heartache with that car over the years, particularly 1994 at the Touring Car races. Son 1 continues the tradition with his Q4. Just great to see you resurrecting this one.
Hi Neil, great content! I do own one 155 super ts in brazil, but i moved to germany 10 years ago. My mom hasn't driven properly since, so i expect a bunch of work to be done because i'm planning to have i on the road by june. So i was looking for your Cam belt change video, and i couldn't find it. Could you link it here somewhere, please? Plus, do you have any video on the variable timing system? I think my has blown up.. Thank you so much, mate
I don't think the 155 was ever truly given the credit it was due back in its day. Now though, I certainly think they are one hot Alfa to own - prices seem to very strong.
Loved the video, perhaps my theory put forward in the last one about the earlier 155s being better galvanised is about right. Who said all Alfas are rusty 😂😂
That engine condition is a shocker!! You should have a look under my M62 740 V8 covers.....at 178k, it’s brand new. That’s me with 3000 miles oil changes for 50k with Shell Helix Ultra 5W40, no additives or cleaners.
@@ItaliaAutos I’ll email you a pic Neal. Not everyone is like me, every car of mine gets oil changes at a max interval of 3000 miles. Ridiculous I know. But I’m proper OCD with maintenance.
Got to paint it ferrari red , is this the wide body with the quick steering rack? the road holding is meant to be really good on the 155 but is it radius arms on the back similar to the old punto set up?
nice videos, very helpfull in realising what such cars need. I have a 155 1.7 TS 8V for a couple of months which i enjoy hughly. Question, it has 5W40 oil while alfa recommends 10W40. But it runs very well on 5W. Should i change to 10W40 anyway on next service?
What’s your view on changing the variator as a preventative measure? I’ll be interested to see how you clean up the cam/coil covers the oxidation of the aluminium was a pain for me
The last real alfa was the Alpha 75. Sadly Alfa Romeo ended. This car is a stylish Fiat Tempra. I had the Alfa 75 2.0 TSpark and I have driven this car too. It is not a bad car. It has the Alfa Sound but.. its relation with the Alfas of the past ends there.
@@ItaliaAutos Watching these series with big interest, I was waiting for you to do some 155 videos. What about an OEM repair kit for the variator? As soon I will do cambelt and head gasket on my 155 16V and the variator rattles and I have a repair kit for it. Will the repair kit resolve the problem or it will be just a short-lived resolving? Cheers
HI Neil, love the 155 videos! Any chance you might have an upcoming video of a twin spark clutch change. Surprisingly there is very little info on this on youtube! Cheers Steve
Brilliant work as usual Neil, thank you so much for this great content. Older Alfas have to be saved and kept on the roads for sure. Keep up the great work 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Glad the owner's spending some money on it, well worth it.
First Alfa I sat in was a 155, loved Alfa’s ever since 🥰🥰👌
Think my OCD would be having me refurbish that engine cover 😂 That's going to be a really nice 155, glad the owner is taking good preservation advice.
Always loved the 155 , wished never got rid .
i had a 155 and they are just so nice to drive!!!!
Great video Neil, brings back a few memories seeing the work that’s been done on this 155 👍
Glad you enjoyed it

Loved my 155 V6 Lusso. Definitely one of those cars I wish I could've kept 🍀🍀🍀
From my Tipo and Brava experience I would check all the old factory underseal for water penetration because it can be a real problem with rust festering underneath...
I usually watch older classic car stuff but what you do on your channel is fascinating stuff. Keep it coming!
I appreciate that!

Not too bad for an old Alfa ! Looking forward to the cosmetic stuff 👍
You and me both!
Nice work! I do like seeing Subframes transform from a dirty old rusty one into a nice clean one again. It's amazing what can be salvaged sometimes.
good job Neil, in Australia we love your videos. Keep up the good work. Best wishes Marc.
Glad you like them!
Bloody hell Neil you look about 12 yrs old all of a sudden 😁😁but enjoying the 155 video
Haha
Beautiful design. Love the 155
Wow - the exhaust "bridge" on oil pan is not smashed.
Great Stuff when i saw the infamous exhaust guard it brought back very bad memories my car is factory lowered a manhole cover which was sticking up a bit more than normal because lorries had been been using the road and compressed the tarmac around the cover I was only doing 3mph and then bang my sump emptied all over the floor since then its been ok running without the guard Bin it
Thanks Neil I enjoyed it 👍🏼. I’d love a red 155
I need a 155
Really excited to see the finished product on this build, doing a great job 👍 keep up the excellent content.
Thanks! 👍
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the Alfas Neil, happy to say that next friday I will own a 147 gta.
Great video and a job well done!
Thank you! Cheers!

i think ive just seen that many broken bolts it doesnt phase me.
Love 155s also great work, just wondering if you perhaps forgot to rub some oil on the new oil filter?
Coming along very nicely, will be a lovely thing to have when finished, nice one!
10:05 hahaha, brilliant :D
Nice work Neil!
Excellent video,i hope Fiat Tipo(160) will come for some tlc in workshop so we can watch that too
Wow, that's some corrosion on the cam cover area! Marginally worse than mine before I took it off the road (145) - usually a good indicator of what the subframe and floorplan will be like..
Great job Neil. Hopefully the new battery isn't going to be a Bosch or a Varta either ;)

Sounds great!
Really interesting video as usual thanks for uploading Neil 👍
Thanks Neil for a very enjoyable video. I've a GT blackline that needs the sills replacing and a subframe refurb this summer if you're interested?
Sounds great! yep i can do it all.
Nother excellent video..
Great vid and very interesting to watch as always. I recognise a fair bit of Fiat Tempra & Coupé architecture in that Alfa 🤔
Compared to the V6, on a nice B road, the 16v is more fun.
Lovely Jubbly, would be even better if you could of done all that work in half an hour 🤔 like the video.
Hi Neil,
Which corrosion protection is the best one from your perspective and you would recommend?
I loved the video and I'd love a video with that beautiful red 166 "GTA". Please...!
Maybe not! I just looked up the date of registration, at least, and it's quite a late one 😳
I love the unboxing of OEM original parts :)
Glad you like them!
I do love a nice 155!

Is that a new set of Pirelli Corsas for the Giulia I see on the tyre rack in the background? It hurts when you buy all four together!
Yeah ready for the spring.
nice work neil

prices will only go up on these.

awesome, so no need to support the engine and gearbox when doing this ?
Excellent work again do you think it’s worth having a stainless steel exhaust fitted.😎
Awesome video and hair cut 💇♂️
What an awesome channel 😍😍❤
Nice hair cut mate 👍
I like Alfa Romeo and your videos but you should try to normalize the audio, the volume is lower or higher at parts of the video.

Or the air filter lol
2.0 twin spark 100.000 km new bushings crankshaft
Nice video
The engine cover screws are Torx T40? Thanks
Great video. What are the 1.8 155s like? Theres no 2.0 or v6s left... A few 1.8s though
Bellissima la 155
Neil you got any spares for these? That one I mentioned is at least missing the entire drivers door mirror
Nope not anymore
@@ItaliaAutos i literally cannot even find a car breaking! I guess Nathan at Cloverbreakers my only chance

i thought it was the 164 that was the last in house car, the 75 was the last RWD alfa until the giulia.
Hi Why is the engin still tapping i would not like that till taps gone is there a prpblem ?
Dry lifters. It will go away . Happens to all cars when they haven't been used in ages as oil drains to bottom of engine
What condition was the old belt ? That can sometimes be a giveaway about previous maintainance.
cracks
The dislike was from an Audi owner....
What’s your view on changing the variator when doing a cam belt?
only if it needs doing.

nope. ball ache to film
For a daily drive which is more reliable and cheap to run? 1994 2.0 TS 8v or 1996 2.0 TS 16v
Thanks
Parts for an 8v are a problem
That’s amazing for a Alfa to not be full of rust being 25 years old
Great job.
Thank you! Cheers!

У меня такая же машина, только 1 поколения на цепном моторе 1,8. Купил за 62000₽. Но она вся гнилая.
