Just a nitpick: in 7:20 you have Proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy as 1961 when it is in 1861. But lovely video nonetheless.
Maybe is because he don't trust Italian burocracy
@@francescoiuliano5690 tbh. With the amount of times these videos take. I wouldn’t expect a historical error but must be tired

I was gonna mention the misconception of Augustus being Emperor as that title was not created and until the end of his life had to share power with the senate.
This video (and your channel) is all around great. Amazingly formatted as to prevent being overwhelmed while also being greatly informative.

‘From Caligula to COVID’... mate that was EPIC comment, my version would be “From Commodus to Covidus” 🤣

Finalmente! I was waiting for this one for so long! Super happy! 🇮🇹
Love your videos man! I foresee this channel becoming very popular
You make great videos man, hope your channel gets the attention it deserves 👍
I love how Italians enjoyed pretty things and brought them to other countries in Europe. I mean, take Poland for instance. It was down to earth and practical until the advent of Italian Renaissance, and then it bloomed into something beautiful.
I really appreciate the effort you put into using a correct pronunciation, props to you!
I love the alliteration you spontaneously add in, always makes me chuckle a bit

What about the famous explorers?
You forgot about genoa pisa and amalfi
Anyone know the painting at 2:55 ?
Slight imprecision: August was not an emperor. Though he is considered to be the founder of the Roman Empire, he never had the title of emperor, the first emperor was actually Tiberius, who came after him
If it walks like an emperor, looks like an emperor, quacks like an emperor...
Technically speaking he was an "imperator", the Latin word meaning commander, though the meaning changed to the current emperor
So to the Romans they were all emperors and not emperors
Yeah, sure he was called Princeps rather than emperor, but in social status and in terms of power he was emperor. And even then, I didn't think that the emperors weren't seen as proper emperors (as in higher than other people, rather than just Princeps, the first among them) until quite a bit later.
You should make a video about Taiwan and Venezuela
He will, he's just taking every single country in alphabetical order.

Antoninus Pius is pronounced "Antonynus Pyus" not "Antonainius Paius"
don't forget about the greatest mafia organization :)
Panetone eaten by mistake :P
Trajan is pronounced Trayan! Not "Treigian"
Diocletian is pronounced "Dyocletsyan" not "Daioclishan"
No it's pronounced dee-o-cle-tee-an
you forgot the seperatists in the north that have a lot of um support as shown by unoficial referendums & offical autonomy votes. like Venice & lombardy
Pizza ovens
Ok area was trojan ( greek tribe) so romylous is greek and rome is greek city (the aninet not moder)
Troy was anatolic. Also, it is just a mith.
The Romans only wanted to say they were the descendants of some deity and so they did
They might have also appreciated Greek culture as a famous quote would make one imagine
"Graecia capta ferum victorem cepit"
Italians and Greeks don’t say “una faccia, una razza” for nothing, but I simply highly doubt Virgilius was even near to be right about the foundation of Rome.
as an italian it's always fun to hear the story from a foreign, i'm not a history tecnichian but it soud correct
it's sad to think how we went from less then nothing (ww2) to an impressionant growth to terrorism to... idk, nothing? not much for money, but for the people (not that i liked the ww2 mentality (keep in mind that not many people were actually fascist, but i still don't like it), it was the peek for the "regional rasism"
VIVA GARIBALDI! VIVA L'ITALIA UNITA!
Scipio Its actually shipio and not skipio
Anyway they are just details
Skipio was the right pronunciation for classical Latin, with a hard C.
The soft C was a change in pronunciation that occurred during medieval times, as in Ecclesiastical Latin (and then Italian).
If I am Italian, I would die learning history in high school
In highschool literature (italian and history) teachers are pretty famous to never being able to end the year program and modern history isn't even touched most of the times.
italy is a big boot🤣🤣
Great video. As for Italy, I am Italian and I can safely say it's over, both economically and in terms of social cohesion and intellectual progress. The country is in irreversible decline.
Battle of "Actium" is pronounced "Aktsium"
In ecclesiastical pronunciation yes, but in classical and in English it's just Actium
Lol
Him: high quality of life
Italins: "yeah, that's cap"

roman history isn't italian history
Of course if, all the historians say it, stop commenting to say anything and go open a history book, I prefer to believe a historian than an ignoramus who knows nothing about youtube
The history of a territory isn't a history of a nation.
@@weareallone4888
you can go on saying what you want, I know it's Italian, I don't even know why I'm wasting my time anyway..
The Romans are an original Italic tribe. So yes, Roman history very much is Italian history.
