So Jelly Matt! I used to drive a 93 Sidekick in high school! It was my favorite car before I got my first Beetle haha sadly no Suzuki cars at all for us in the States.
getting a jimny as my first car next week😍I fell in love with it after driving in one three years ago and since then its been a dream car for me! The personality in this car is impecable....
Great to see an honest vehicle that fulfils what it was designed to be. It was never designed to be an inner city "toy" for driving down to the corner for your decaf soy latte. It was designed to be an affordable vehicle to go offroad in the mountains or on the beach.
I brought à jimmy's Suzuki 2013 brand new. I love it. People laughed at me when I brought it. It's more about the lifestyle it gives me. Run around town and weekend get away on a oil rag. Its me with one other person and my dog. Its manual car. I love the sense of freedom it gives me.
Love the look of this little beast. Hoping to own one in the next five years. My wife doesn’t understand why I want one, so I made her watch this review. She gets it now.
I was in the same boat. Worked on a Jimny awhile ago and fell in love with it. Missus just couldn't understand why I liked them so much. They just such a fun little car. I loved the retro look of the thing with a modern twist to it. She eventually caved and let me buy one. Now I have a Ivory, slightly modified Jimny in my driveway and honestly I absolutely love it.
"Oooh, I'm gonna tip, I'm gonna tip!" That's exactly how I feel every time I corner over 60kmph yet it never does lol. Mine is Jungle Green and I love it. :)
I had one of the early ones in Southern Africa.I went all over in that vehicle and off road performance was outstanding.I also had a winch on the front and a small one at the back. They did come in useful a few times.
Bruh! Showed my wife (she's type 1) your bit when you put your pump in the center console and she tweaked saying, "even type 1s need a place to store stuff!" Quality, man. Keep up the stellar reviews!
I love the suzuki Jimny because it's like a jeep esc car and I think it has the best space that a sporty person like me would want but I love it. I love suzuki.
This was such a positive, fun review!!. I'm not only subscribing because the review was great, but because your positive is great!! We're waiting for the Jimny 5 door to come to India.
My Jimny is an older model, 2019. I love it. Wouldn't change it for another car. Still in love with it 3 years later. I live in the city but have 2 massive dogs and do constant traveling to the countryside so this car is *chef kiss* perfection.
I enjoy mine. Great little car. Booked in for some mods in December. I waited 4 months for mine. Not the colour I ordered but the dealer rang & asked if I’d take this one as it didn’t have a home to go to.
This is an amazing vehicle mate, the pros get the better off the cons and being in India, I'm dying to get my hands on one. and I'm not able to get one as India is only exporting the Jimny and this amazing piece of engineering has not yet entered the local market. If I may also say, this is an amazing engineering with essential features and this car doesn't have unwanted garbage, it's near, clean and serves the purpose and kudos on this amazing video..... Good Job Mate and I also happened to see a Mitsubishi @ 08:04 which looks amazing
Here I agree with you. It's one of the best looking car, maybe ever (or one of them) - and when all of the cars are more and more similar, this one is totally different - a piece of work:))
I have an '02 Jimny and I've already grown too tall for it. Bounces around like mad and gives me cramps after almost every trip. Worse fuel economy on the highway than in the city. Steers like a plane when overtaking. Cassette player out of the factory. No abs. Fuel gauge and power steering are mechanical. Coolant reservoir can be removed and replaced like a lego. 4WD is in perfect working order. Slides through mud like a proper rally drifter. Could go on, but I guess that's enough for now.
Gonna get the 5 door version in india, looks pretty dope tbh, it’s bigger in length so it doesn’t wobble at all and it’s pretty stable at high speeds as well, it also has a really modern and responsive touch screen over here

Great review Matt, I have had 4 of the previous Jimnys and now one of the new ones. The 2020 Jimny has better road manners than the previous and the 1500cc engine delivers its power and torque a lot better than the 1300cc. As it is a tall car it has to be driven with a little more caution than a low slung saloon car, we also use it to drag a small 900kg caravan.. Unfortunately it is no longer available in the UK/Europe due to the EU emissions, the dealers in the UK were bumping the price up by 30%, it sound like they are doing it where you are as well.
Great review! I would like the steering wheel to be both reach and rake but I have found a good driving position anyway. In a roundabout I drive quite normally and it works well. The real downside is driving on the highway when it is very windy - you have to be concentrated!
@@CarSauce actually, AEB system in Jimny is quite poor and has many false positives. Beeps at me at least once a week and few times even pushed my brakes and put me into dangerous situation. It is known issue which is even described in the user manual. Personally, I would rather have car without this feature.
lt doesn't seem particularly robust, l had LWB Suzuki Samurai 413 a good few years ago and the chassis was a lot sturdier than this new one, the engine is gutless, the low range gearing is nowhere near low enough and the steering, the less said about that the better, should of had a turbo diesel in it.
@@clooperman3745 it is basically the same chassis to the 413. It has just been reinforced during the years. The new Jimny is the sturdiest generation yet. The engine could use a bit more torque, but it feels just fast enough for the type of driving it is meant for. I find the steering just fine and plenty precise enough the steering excels by not letting any vibration from the wheels through to the steering wheel. Perfect for a off road or gravel roads. The ride quality and stability is much better after a suspension upgrade though. The gearing could be a bit lower. Many of us in the community are waiting for upgraded transfer gears to have a lower low range. But really it is only if you do rock crawling or fit large tires that you need a lower than stock gearing.
Hope the car arrives in Kashmir. I want this for it's small size and good suspension becuz of our roads 😄 lol. The car makes me feel like a G Wagon or even a Jeep wrangler a bit I think.
Hey, I have my Jimny now for 2,5 years in Sand color with automatik gear box and will not miss it. But believe me I will never buy the manuel version 😊
Yes, fantastic! Highway driving all the time, maybe not. Something with a bit more active safety and stability would be better... But I wouldn't care myself 😁
It's is a serous capable 4wD as a daily driver don't expect to have the comfort or cushioned refined car like ride like the batch of small SUV's it will be bouncy noisy droney truck like ride and on the highway it won't be a relaxed ride it will be reving high at 100km and acceleration by today standards is docile .But looks cool and bullet proof reliability like a Hilux can't kill them
I bought it specifically as a daily driver and I wouldn't change. It is amazing in the city thanks to its small size - you fit everywhere (and if you don't, curbs are not an obstacle for you). Also the visibility around the car makes parking easy peasy and high sitting position lets you see over other car's so you see those kids on scooter behind a car about to jump into your way. It will fail as a daily driver only under two conditions: 1) You have kids (pain to get them back, pain to have any cargo with kids inside) or 2) you drive many KM on a highway.
I drive mine everyday and it's fine, it's not a super car but great to park and get around the city, it just makes me smile and smile. I also have a v8 ute. But mostly drive the Jimny.
When you say "sold out" it's not realistically sold out as you can still place orders with a wait time. I put in an order just in December and was given a delivery window of April 2021 to December 2021. Not only me but my wife loves the look which is why we ordered one and eventually it will join the stable of Suzuki's as my wife drives a baleno and I have a Mighty Boy im building.
Congratulations! But it's up for how you interpret sold out. The PS5 is sold out right now, but you will be able to buy it in limited quantities until supply reaches demand. If you want to go into a dealer and buy a brand new one, you can't. Would you not say then they are sold out - even for now? I could change the title to on backorder, but I don't think that's really any different at this point 😜
@@CarSauce true I put anything where you can order it no matter if it's in stock to not be sold out where as if you can't order and confirm your allocation then sure sold out is a perfect term to use.

This car is good but I’d still rather have my ‘85 Suzuki Sierra back. 800cc and soft top. Used to take it up the old convict road behind Wisemans Ferry and it would still be going long after the Landcruiser and Pajero drivers had run up the white flag. It was the cheapest new car on sale in Australia at the time and pound for the pound the most fun by a country mile.

PS: i'm a die hard BMW fan and eyeing the X1. i'd take the jimny if the jimny would be what BMW is inside!!!
Hi Matt, and anyone else reading this, I live on a small island in the caribbean and we have terrible roads. Lots of rained out dirt and asphalt roads with potholes or patched up potholes. Those are just the regular roads. There are only a few main roads that are smooth. I'm looking for a car that's a SMOOTH ride day to day. Not necessarily for the rougher off-road roads. Is the jimny that? Or will it toss me around like any other regular car? Any suggestions on cars or tips on what I'm supposed to be looking for in a car? Anyone reading this feel free to answer.
The stereo and speakers should be removed straight away and thrown in the dealer's bin so they don't take up your own bin space. Buy the cheapest head unit at super cheap and some speakers for $150 for heavens sake.
The 0-100km/hr times for the auto are definitely incorrect. The manual pulls about half a car length ahead of the auto off the mark then stays that distance ahead until hitting top speed. A throttle controller will close that gap even more for the auto. Haha there’s absolutely no way the auto is 3 seconds slower.
When you test the off road, can you use actual off road tracks? Yarra State Forest, Tallarook and Wandong all have great trails that actually show what a car can do. Otherwise all I can think is my Corolla can do everything you showed in this video. So not much of an off road car
Any jimny owners please help! The Bluetooth audio in my jimny isn’t working. It connects, then disconnects when I try to play music; apparently the data transfer is too high? I’m wondering if anyone else has this problem. Thankyou!
For the forseeable future expect to pay above RRP. I know of someone who spent $40k for a manual from a dealer so honestly it's not that bad of a deal for the Auto
An excellent fun weekend 4wd at at the right price point. With the two price increases and removal of their list price from the Australian website I am no longer interested in getting one. I think they have just decided to profiteer under the excuse that they want to shorten waiting list. Makes me loose trust in the Suzuki brand. I wonder if they will try something like this on there after sales support and service.
Its not really sold out. The retail original price for them are sold out but you can still opt and buy them at higher price value Jimny is like air jordan shoe. Just a matter of willing to pay more
Yes and no, if you want a brand new one to your spec then it's a wait of at least 6 months so technically sold out. Some demos/price gouged models out there if you don't want to wait 🙂
I love this car! The sole thing I don't like is the engine. Can anyone tell me WHY they didn't equip it with a smaller turbo engine (suzuki has already the 1.4 & 1.0 turbo engines in it's shelves)?? I know there's also a Japanese version at 660cc they don't export.
My guess is that a turbo = another moving part ready to break! The Suzuki NA engines are pretty bullet proof, and easy to work on... But I would not be against a turbo Jimny 😁
Sadl as it is , both unavailable atm and too expensive! Three price increases while the vehicle is not even available? It’s by time Suzuki catches up to its competitors and bring out the five door version.
What do you LOVE / HATE about the way the Suzuki Jimny looks?! See my thoughts in the comments to this thread, and let me know yours 😄

Amazing review Matt! It looks like great fun and great value, i need one in my life! 😭
Thank you, me too! Petition Suzuki to let me buy this one 😁
Really needs the 6speed manual and 6 speed auto along with Suzuki’s 1.0 Turbo motor and it would be brilliant !
I request all automobile producers to launch Jimny type car in India. Very high demand...
this is my fave car, hands down!
Certainly one of my favourites too!
Your presentation is too great ,i was wonder why most of people they never talk about the speakers
The stereo and speakers should be removed straight away and thrown in the dealer's bin so they don't take up your own bin space. Buy the cheapest head unit at super cheap and some speakers for $150 for heavens sake.
You say you want one, but do you mean as a boy’s toy or would you be happy with it as your daily driver?
I feel weird when the steering wheel in on the right side maybe because in my country is on the left side.
We need suzuki Back in CANADA!
Why would something fly back from braking?
The 0-100km/hr times for the auto are definitely incorrect. The manual pulls about half a car length ahead of the auto off the mark then stays that distance ahead until hitting top speed. A throttle controller will close that gap even more for the auto. Haha there’s absolutely no way the auto is 3 seconds slower.
Wow thank you so much 😥im waiting this video for long time this car its my dream car i wish to had it but so hard thank you so much please I'm big fan
When you test the off road, can you use actual off road tracks? Yarra State Forest, Tallarook and Wandong all have great trails that actually show what a car can do. Otherwise all I can think is my Corolla can do everything you showed in this video. So not much of an off road car
I would love to see a electric or hybrid version of this car
Give it time, it'll definitely happen haha
🤦🏻♂️
I wish they’d bring it back into the U.S.
that gauge cluster looks remarkably close to a 1st gen pajero
Soon it will launch in India (5 door version)
Waited a year for delivery! But it’s fun.
Hello..u r so beautiful..
"they might make a movie about it" X'D
I was waiting for someone to get that reference 😁
Any jimny owners please help!
The Bluetooth audio in my jimny isn’t working. It connects, then disconnects when I try to play music; apparently the data transfer is too high? I’m wondering if anyone else has this problem.
Thankyou!
Oh man, that doesn't sound right! Have you taken it back to the dealer? Sounds like a warranty issue!
@@CarSauce yep dealer told me it was data transfer issue, they were no help at all. Hoping to find better help on here
Me: I want a Jimny.
USA: We have Jimny at home.
Jimny at home: *Jeep Renegade
I was quoted $34,500 from a Suzuki dealership for the automatic version. Is this a complete rip off?
For the forseeable future expect to pay above RRP. I know of someone who spent $40k for a manual from a dealer so honestly it's not that bad of a deal for the Auto
Love this vehicle. Too bad they don’t sell it in the US
Can you still put an order in for the estimated 1.5 year wait? I called the local dealer and they said that they won't even put an order in, lol.
How does one get their camping gear in there?
Definitely functionality over form.
I wonder how many Canadian dollars...oh..no difference for every CAD it’s $1.04 AUD
Haha well hopefully it can still be brought to NA!
Can you please review the Suzuki Baleno. 2022.
I need this car
Its not really sold out. The retail original price for them are sold out but you can still opt and buy them at higher price value
Jimny is like air jordan shoe.
Just a matter of willing to pay more
Yes and no, if you want a brand new one to your spec then it's a wait of at least 6 months so technically sold out. Some demos/price gouged models out there if you don't want to wait 🙂
This is not true, I just walked into a dealer and bought one a few days ago mate. @@CarSauce
How would it pull a trailer?
I think the Jimny was trying to avoid a slap over the back of the head from the Granddaddy FJ45 there @ 9:08
Looks like a mini Wrangler !
Nice video, looks like a fun car
I love this car! The sole thing I don't like is the engine. Can anyone tell me WHY they didn't equip it with a smaller turbo engine (suzuki has already the 1.4 & 1.0 turbo engines in it's shelves)?? I know there's also a Japanese version at 660cc they don't export.
My guess is that a turbo = another moving part ready to break! The Suzuki NA engines are pretty bullet proof, and easy to work on... But I would not be against a turbo Jimny 😁
@@TjSi That's possible. Jimny is a hardcore 4x4!
Cool car! I hope to drive it soon.
Wish we had these in the states
I just wish it had a better engine and gearbox
Sadl as it is , both unavailable atm and too expensive! Three price increases while the vehicle is not even available?
It’s by time Suzuki catches up to its competitors and bring out the five door version.
How much for my jemny????
