They hope it will just go away as time goes on and most of us will have past on. But we can only hope the younger ones will keep this going even if Martyn Bryant does pass on during the time and the truth is finally told and those involved still surviving face the full extent of the law

As a reporter, the media is always subjective when psychopaths commit despicable acts like these. It's normally swayed by public opinion. Do we have to be objective to be taken seriously by to some extent justifying the actions of these individuals in the face of grieving relatives? You've really lost me mate.
@@sembatyajoshua6868 You have done what reporters seem to do best; twist my words. It is NOT the medias job to choose how the viewer should feel about a topic.
@@JonnyTGood If this was a news program, I’d agree. But it’s not. It’s a docudrama. Facts mixed with a narrative structure to tell a story. The ‘story’ is complicated. It starts with what happened but that’s not it’s primary objective. It’s primarily about what kind of person did this? Who is Martin Bryant? Why did he do this? What is his story? How has this event shaped the people around the story - his lawyer, his (ex) girlfriend, people he knew growing up, etc. You also have to consider the significance of this event in Australian history. It prompted massive gun legislation. At the centre of all this is Martin Bryant, who is, superficially, the most unlikely looking mass murderer you could imagine. He looked like a surfer. He lived in a tourist town. It was a big shock. And Willessee, who hasn’t been working as a news reporter for some time, was never particularly objective even when he was a tv regular. They’ve brought him in to do this story. And that’s what it is - storytelling.
@@paulbester9516 Exactly. Therefore the viewer isn't responding based upon their own logical and emotional interpretation. This is just one example of the media constantly trying to manipulate opinions on topics instead of doing their REAL job and sharing important information etc.

That's why society should stop taking advantage of vulnerable people and take their money because believe you me, they will start to feel hate towards people and no regard for human life. This could have been prevented, similar cases of people getting bullied or taken advantage of ends in similar situations, when someone spends their whole life getting bullied, they don't care anymore and it ends in college shootings or something like this. I feel really sorry for the guy because it could have ended differently if people didn't bully him.
Hopefully they can make the laws more strict without needing anything like this as an excuse. We have to put laws into place first, not after a crime like this.

For sure people were shot at and that is a horrifying burden to carry through life. My sympathies go out to them. However, it was not Martin Bryant who did the shooting. They show him smiling whilst agreeing with the police but that is called ' incongruence' and when someone has autism, which he has, then his facial expressions may not reflect his inner emotions. He may be feeling under pressure or scared but is smiling because autistic people sometimes have facial expressions that don't match inner feelings. They say horrible things like he is ' dim' I challenge that comment. The guy is vulnerable and it looks like a set up to me.
All The Evidence??? Just give me 4 piece's of that evidence, id love to know...oh by the way so the witnesses who were there that day (and survived) saw just one shooter, no one else...i guess them testifying at the trial was all just make believe yes?
alot of things dont add up with the martin bryant case, i did spend some time a few years ago finding out as much as i could about the situation and when you really dive deep into it the more you do the more things start to not add up, some of the videos and interviews i researched back then dont seem to be available anymore or have been removed from internet searches, in this video it says "this is the first time this footage has been seen" but the full and complete interview tapes were already leaked on the internet years ago as well as the police training video that was made with footage from this incident was also leaked online. the story we were told by mainstream media (including this dramatized cherry picked video) doesn't match up with the facts and reports from witnesses, many witnesses were told not to speak up and were told to keep quiet or police will be coming for them ect... we call it being "hushed". the feeling i got after finding out as much as i did was that yes martin bryant was involved in the situation but it looks to me like he was not the only one involved, i think there was a second shooter most likely an expert marksman hired by someone else to cause as much damage as possible and was then extracted from the scene and martin was left to take the blame for it all. this is just my opinion and im not saying any of what i have said is fact as im only going by witness accounts and reports and footage from years ago, all im saying is there is more to the situation than the main stream media lead us on to believe, when this happened at the time alot of information was blocked and covered up and when that is happening then you have to ask why? i believe the why was because the government had a vested interest in this situation to make it as shocking and horrifying to the public as possible to gain public support for changing the gun laws, it was after this horrible situation that the gun laws were in fact changed. the police spent more time covering things up than actually searching for the truth, if this situation happened today in the 2020's and martin had a decent lawyer then martin would not have gone to jail, instead of what happened back in the 90's when his lawyer was only there to convince martin to take the blame for what happened and confess he was basically black mailed into confessing for crimes he said he was innocent for, was he really innocent? maybe or maybe not but we will never know. find out as much as you can and make your own opinions, im just giving you mine.
Wow how ironic, after that very long text you failed to give one little iota peace of proof, ( what proof do u have, I'm interested?) assumption, conspiracy theory or analysis of what makes you think this? @@shanebriggs1039 go search for it yourself unless you want to pay me per hour to do the work for you then you can go and research this yourself, alot of the articles have been removed from the internet that were there 10 years ago when i did my research, alot of witness interviews have been taken down because they dont fit the governments narrative, but there is still some evidence out there of you look hard enough for it, so go look for it yourself and form your own opinion like i did, once you start looing then you will start to see the same trend that i saw and that is alot of people dont want the truth to get out there about this and alot of things are hidden and silenced, that alone should raise suspicion that this whole situation is very very dodgy and corrupt.

Why are the court documents to the case still sealed? 70 years is an awfully long time. The families deserve to hear the full truth.
They hope it will just go away as time goes on and most of us will have past on. But we can only hope the younger ones will keep this going even if Martyn Bryant does pass on during the time and the truth is finally told and those involved still surviving face the full extent of the law
It was going to be 30yrs then they changed it.

It's really sad how the media pretend to take these stories seriously when they're really just presenting it like a dramatic movie.
My point was clear.. you can present information in a logical, informative manner (which is your job), or tell a story through an emotional-based presentation, manipulating the viewers whilst doing so.
@@JonnyTGood This is what the media always does, they feign whatever emotion is necessary so the audience expresses the wanted response.
@@paulbester9516 Exactly. Therefore the viewer isn't responding based upon their own logical and emotional interpretation. This is just one example of the media constantly trying to manipulate opinions on topics instead of doing their REAL job and sharing important information etc.

Why did Bryant’s lawyer at the time agree to the police interviewing Bryant without representation? The interview dated 4 July 1996 was allegedly the first and the police had been investigating the shooting since 1 May, 1996 when Bryant was charged with the murder of Kate Scott. Did the lawyer advise Bryant beforehand that he would not be represented either by a lawyer or guardian? Bryant has asked for a lawyer during the interview and was informed by the police that his lawyer had given them permission to speak with him. This is clearly identified in the police interview transcript, but not shown in the video.
@Sovereign Soul When you look at all the information that is available (not just from us mad conspiracy theorists) the whole case against Bryant and the events that took place on the 28th April 1996 do have a very distinct foul odour. The number of ‘coincidences’ and timing for the shooting to have occurred at that time, on that day alone should raise suspicion. The lack of direct evidence against Bryant, the initial 30 year seal on the evidence and the media's willing role in vigorously condemning Bryant all point towards a conspiracy.

His impairment meant that he should have had a guardian and/or a lawyer with him at all times. The police and court records clearly indicate that this was not the case and that his lawyer had agreed with the police that Bryant could be interviewed without representation. alot of things dont add up with the martin bryant case, i did spend some time a few years ago finding out as much as i could about the situation and when you really dive deep into it the more you do the more things start to not add up, some of the videos and interviews i researched back then dont seem to be available anymore or have been removed from internet searches, in this video it says "this is the first time this footage has been seen" but the full and complete interview tapes were already leaked on the internet years ago as well as the police training video that was made with footage from this incident was also leaked online. the story we were told by mainstream media (including this dramatized cherry picked video) doesn't match up with the facts and reports from witnesses, many witnesses were told not to speak up and were told to keep quiet or police will be coming for them ect... we call it being "hushed". the feeling i got after finding out as much as i did was that yes martin bryant was involved in the situation but it looks to me like he was not the only one involved, i think there was a second shooter most likely an expert marksman hired by someone else to cause as much damage as possible and was then extracted from the scene and martin was left to take the blame for it all. this is just my opinion and im not saying any of what i have said is fact as im only going by witness accounts and reports and footage from years ago, all im saying is there is more to the situation than the main stream media lead us on to believe, when this happened at the time alot of information was blocked and covered up and when that is happening then you have to ask why? i believe the why was because the government had a vested interest in this situation to make it as shocking and horrifying to the public as possible to gain public support for changing the gun laws, it was after this horrible situation that the gun laws were in fact changed. the police spent more time covering things up than actually searching for the truth, if this situation happened today in the 2020's and martin had a decent lawyer then martin would not have gone to jail, instead of what happened back in the 90's when his lawyer was only there to convince martin to take the blame for what happened and confess he was basically black mailed into confessing for crimes he said he was innocent for, was he really innocent? maybe or maybe not but we will never know. find out as much as you can and make your own opinions, im just giving you mine.

@@shanebriggs1039I bet you are fully vaccinated.
@@paulz234 and i bet you think Lee Harvey Oswald was the only gunman in Dallas Texas on that day....am I right?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA 100%@@paulz234
So sad. Some people fall thru the cracks in society and never get the help they need or acceptance that most of us take for granted. Until that changes we’ll continue to have tragedies like this.
Well he was a millionaire so I am sure life was really tough for him
@@glenchapman3899 I think you completely missed the point being made.
@@glenchapman3899 Rich or poor, People fall through the cracks. What part of that do you not register?
Some people are just crazy and no amount of help would stop em
Was also a combination of ingredients that all came together to make this happen, fact of him killing rabbits desensatised him to violence, and clearly! he is a psychopath as well, so no! i dont blame just society spicifically!
With a lawyer like that, who needs enemies?
indeed
How hard would it be to coerce an 60 iq man into a false confession ?
Especially when he was locked up for so long and his mother and so called defence lawyer told him that if he pleaded guilty he would be taken out of solitary confinement and have some more freedom.
False confession? You have to be kidding.
68 I think was his actual IQ, still considered mentally disabled. I grew up in Tasmania, knew a guy that went to Risdon prison. He said that Bryant was that drugged up he didn't know what reailty was, on a daily basis.
Also doesn't fit in with Asperger's diagnosis either. Asperger's have normal to above average IQ's. Not intellectually impaired.
How did the measure his iq ?
