    Thanks, have worked on industrial system before for wash hoses with a 20 m3 hot water tank and cold water from the mains. We had problem regulating the system on commission turns out cause the hot water was from a static head and the cold was from mains at 2 bar it would get to hot or to cold we had to fit a pressure regulating valve on the cold pressurised side. Don't know if you will have a problem but if so a globe or needle valve on the cold side would be a cheap fix. Our problem was as you opened the cold it was a higher pressure than the static hot water so would come in to the line quicker / priority. Looks a great place to have a shower with a view👍

    If you do a cold start, glow the plugs at least 3 times. turn the ignition, wait for the glow indicator light to go out, turn back the ignition key. wait a sec, and repeat a couple of times. Starting will be easier. This always worked on my '94 Chrysler Voyager TD.

    Another amazing video Kris. I was really gobsmacked to not realise how far the show was away even though I've watched every video. Wondered if it was worth making a little map showing the location of all the projects. Just a sketch on a pad will do.

    I bet I am not the only one to suggest a large rocket stove next to the shower to heat the water for those cloudy days , if you made it a changing cubicle it could dry towels or wet clothes as you are in Wales. Cheers John from County Durham

    Sound test 1 2...lol ;) I was thinking of you this morning and i wanted to suggest that you plant for seed when the spring comes because if you were to invest in a harvester a some point you could make a nice little fortune from your acreage but the seed is always the primary set back because it cost a fortune. Mission accomplished. Nice job on the shower. ;)

    What temperature do you think you can eventually achieve with solar panel in your area. Good thing you have indoor bath for winter time, got goosebumps remembering bathing time old cabin. Family lived in Colorado during early 50's with only potbelly stove to heat and cook on in cabin, didn't have in water heater till move to Georgia.

      I know from a few test I have done on 3 huge 3 foot by 6 or 7 food panels laying flat on the ground in 20 mins will make the water almost too hot to touch in the summer sun.. These hot water panels can get the water pretty hot, even upwards of 200F, The factor is how fast you move the water thru the panel, the slower the hotter the faster the colder... Even in the winter you can still get 125F from these panels, At one time I had planned on finding a few dozen of these old panels and using them in an open drain back system ( drain back system means that if the water is not getting reaching a set temp it would drain back in to the tank ) and a heat exchange blower for heat...

    You should make some wooden wheel chocks for your vehicles on that hill. It would only take one time and the van or tractor is down the hill in the woods. Stay warm and snuggle with the cat.

    Clearly there are several people that will fail the test later on since they haven’t watched all the videos or weren’t paying attention.
    The shower is for the volunteers to use in the summer when they come to help build the earth bag workshop. Kris has a bathtub 🛁 in his round house for his use.

      Clearly not everyone has seen all of the videos, I have, So I know... His tub is pretty nice... The stove pipe heater was a nice try, If I recall he has a electric water heater now...
      I am sure he still uses the stove pipe heater as well...

    • @Crewsy
      @Crewsy 5 лет назад

      You should have no problem with the test then William. He does in fact still use the stovepipe heater since he showed recently the circulation pump he added to it to better cycle the water compared to just allowing for the natural thermal cycle.

    Could you have a system for the van where you start it on diesel and then switch over to veg oil when it's warmed up a bit?similar to how a lot of older tractors used to work only with different fuels obviously

      im a stone mason by profession and I do use a sponge if I want to finish off plaster quickly, but you don't really have to. He's waiting until the plaster has cured enough then wire brushing it, which works just as well, just another technique really.

    How cold is the stream water in the summer Kris? Probably wouldn’t be too cold to run mostly water straight from the stream.
    Your hot water valve will need a drain or it will freeze up on you with the trapped water.

    • @darrenrandall1746
      @darrenrandall1746 5 лет назад

      Don't live in Wales do you? It's cold for long periods and summer is short in comparison to a lot of places. Welsh stream water will get to about 12 - 15c max in summer and that only after a prolonged dry spell. Far too cold to shower comfortably.

    • @Crewsy
      @Crewsy 5 лет назад

      Darren Randall
      The Welsh winters are quite tropical compared to my winters here in Canada but our summers do get quite warm too and I figured a stream that size could get close to 20*C which wouldn’t take much solar heated water to be a good shower after a long day of filling earth bags.
