In this wildlife photography vlog, I went into the Great Smoky Mountains to photograph black bears and turkey. The Smokies are an awesome place for wildlife photography, and any wildlife photographer hoping to photograph black bears should be sure to add Great Smoky Mountains to their list of wildlife photography locations.

Thank you Randy 🙏 I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Awesome Blog! All Bear photos are beautiful, but the mother and cub facing each other was outstanding. I would love to have that on my living room wall.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words. I take requests for prints if you are interested! You can contact me via Facebook, Instagram, or my website. All are linked in the description 🙂

So, it appears that your 500mm lens was worth every penny. Well used and well presented. thx!
Yes, it definitely was! Thank you for the kind words, glad to hear you enjoyed it!
AWESOME VIDEO 🙌 Your channel has become one of my favorites. I can’t wait to see what YP brings you :)
Thank you Sue, I really appreciate it!! 🙌 I can’t wait to get back out there!
Brilliant work, looks like a great place to visit.
Thank you! For sure, the Smokies are incredible.
I just returned home from a Black Bear Smoky's trip from 4/25-4/29. I had plenty of sightings, but understand that seeing them does not equate to photo opps. My sole purpose was Black Bears so I spent most of my time at Cades Cove with a couple of excursions to Roaring Fork Road. I was pleased with the images I was able to garner. I do love your intimate portrait of mama and cub. I enjoyed this video immensely because I was just there and could relate. Safe travels to you on your way to Wyoming.
Glad you enjoyed the video! That’s awesome, hope you were able to get some good photos. The Smokies are hard to beat when it comes to black bear photography. I know of no better place for it. Thanks for watching!
Great bear video and pics, Evan! Your turkey shots caught the sun glistening off the feathers! 😲...dead battery! Shucks! You have Smokies, Yellowstone, Tetons, and soon Alaska 🐻! Can't wait!
Thanks! Yes the sun really lit that turkey up, it was quite magnificent! I greatly appreciate the support 🙏
That lens in clean 🔥 great vlog and pics as always
Thank you 🙏 I appreciate the support!
AMAZING work. Keep up the incredible job
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
New to your channel, well done! Enjoyed it
Thank you! Glad you liked it 🙌
Hey Evan. I absolutely love the content you produce! You are an amazing photographer!
Me and my family are going to be taking a trip to the Smokies next month, and I was wondering if there are any specific spots you would recommend to photograph bears? I've been photographing wildlife for about two years now, but just recently upgraded from my $300 setup, to the Canon 90D and Sigma 150-600mm lens, so I'm really excited to be photographing wildlife on this trip. Any tips you could give me would be very appreciated.
Nic video!
Thanks Tim! 🙏
You had a great weekend at the park 👍. I'm going to make a trip there soon myself. Love the pictures and this video 👍. I just subscribed and I hope to see more from you. Keep up the good work 👍.
Thanks so much 🙏 I appreciate the support. Good luck on your trip! 👍
absolutely love your videos, I also wanna be an full time wildlife photographer when I turn 21. You deserve more subs man
Thanks man, I appreciate that so much! Keep following your dreams, you really can make anything you want happen!
Solid video! When would you, or anyone reading this, recommend for the best time of year to see wildlife? We’ve been there a few times, and we’ve seen a bear/deer by coincidence, but I’d like to know if they’re normally this plentiful in the spring
April through October is the best time imo. Bears and deer are all over the place and the elk can be seen with calves in the spring and then rutting in the fall.
Great vlog, I would highly recommend the battery grip. Gets me 3000-4000 shots easily now with 30-40 percent left over.
Thanks! Yeah I’ve been wanting to get it for a while but man, $350 is just a lot to ask for it. I’ll get it eventually though.
@@wattswildlifephoto Totally agree mate. This is an expensive hobby but the 250 dollars for the delkin devices black cfexpress and 350 for the grip have both been huge for me!
Nice videos! Is the lens a EF 500 f/4 mk2 or mk1? Thanks!
Not first but im here lol
that battery experience... i guess most of us have been there, but so painful when it happens...
Great video. However, the video states that you bought a 500mm lens, but in your description, I only seen a 100-400mm lens listed. The reason I mention this is because I was interested in viewing the specs for your 500mm lens. So, I was a bit disappointed when I could not find this item.
Thank you! I’m sorry that wasn’t included, I must’ve forgot to add it when I put this video up. Here’s a link to the 500mm lens: amzn.to/3ECP04S
Hope that helps 👍
I think it would be helpful for your audience to put each shot's camera settings on your photos: shutter, aperture and ISO.
First
Your videos are awesome. You should be featured on discovery or even other tv channels
Thanks, I really appreciate that!
I cannot find any used, long canon EF lenses (500mm/600mm). There are a few but they have gone up in price since the last time I looked.
They are few and far between, I looked for months before I found and pulled the trigger on this one. MPB had a good selection back while I was looking, but that was almost 2 months ago so they may not now. Good luck!
Great vlog as always, excellent images, but by god those Turkeys are ugly
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed. Hahaha yeah, they aren’t the most beautiful or graceful birds, that’s for sure.
