@@locavore_eats You Should Review A Japanese Restaurant Named "Cafe KoKo" Located In Manurewa South Auckland.
I Assume Not Much People In The Area Know It Exists But Its Really GOOD. I Highly Recommend.
If You Have Tried It Already, Please Give Me Places To Try In South Auckland? (SUMOCHOW, A Western Style Japanese Food Seller. Recommend, Recommend!)
Keep Well With Your Conent,Its Great! Thank You For Your Time.
      Peace, Love & Blessings!

Great Video. Filipino food looks interesting but one problem is that it is very vegan/veggie unfriendly, so it will be hard to take off as it goes against current western food/health/environmental trends. I want to try it, but have yet to find anywhere that does plant based versions (except for the rare random 24 hour pop-ups, which are totally inaccessible).

Thank you! Tbh that's very true and we usually add that as a disclaimer when people wanna try our food as meat is very common throughout all our dishes. Although, alot of our dishes can easily swap the meat out to make it vegetarian/vegan and gladly we're slowly seeing it being introduced in some restaurants.

      Hi Paws,
You’re absolutely right! Most Filipino establishments only showcase about 5% of what Filipino cuisine really is. Coming from the South which is Mindanao our cooking style/cuisine is very under represented. What most people don’t know (even Filipinos) is we have a lot of vegetables based dishes. Mindanao has the biggest Islam, Buddhist and Hindu population and this the reason why we have more vegetarian dishes. What was showcased here is what they ordered of our menu. I’d say our menu is 40% vegetarian friendly while having the accessibility to making it vegan.
It’s been our goal over at Bar Magda to shed light to Mindanao cooking which is one of the oldest and most preserved pre-colonial cuisine which proves that Philippines as a nation was already civilised and had an organised structure of livelihood.
I hope this informations sheds more light into our culture!
