    Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it?

    First we got weaponizing lightspeed in The Last Jedi and then in Rise of Skywalker we got *"LIGHTSPEED SKIPPING???!!"* Two things about all this:
    1. I will *NEVER* forgive Disney for ruining my all-time favorite movie franchise the way they did.
    2. *I AM SO GLAD* I didn't waste one penny paying to see ROS when it was in theaters.

    This is so stupid. I remember seeing this for the first time and screaming in my head WTF?????!!!!! Totally goes against the canon set my Han Solo in the first trilogy about why you need to set the right calculations before jumping to light speed because at that speed you’re covering a lot more distance at a very short amount of time and without precise calculations you’re bound to hit a star, asteroid, or planet!
    Plus, TIE FIGHTERS DON’T HAVE LIGHTSPEED!!!!! How could they be following the Millennium Falcon???? Even if they did, AGAIN CANON!!!! They would have to know their precise trajectory in order to follow them as mentioned in the original trilogy!

      I don't mean to defend this atrocity, but the Tie fighters were given a hyperdrive so they would probably be able to track them through hyperspace like Snoke's ship. But yes this is complete BS. How could they treat that ship so poorly? 😢

      I concur with the fact that they were given hyperdrives. It’s an example of the Empire/First Order improving. They’re learning. Evolving their battle tactics is not something we’re used to seeing in these movies.

      There are 3 reasons this scene makes ZERO sense.
      1: As you said. "Without precise calculations we could fly right through a supernova" is a direct quote from ANH.
      2: Even if they could jump randomly, travel time is still a thing you dont just teleport.
      3: According to TLJ the First order can track ships through hyperspace BUT they need a special supercomputer to do it /which I doubt there is room for or budget for on a tie fighter

      I am wondering the same thing and my best guess is it is supposed to be like still reflective water but like this whole scene in general it is a lot to process in such a short period of time.

    • @deathstrike
      @deathstrike 10 месяцев назад

      I believe it has something to do with the way the hyperdrive works. As the ship "Jumps" it's matter is transitioned to superluminal matter. As the ship reemerges into normal space, it is the superluminal particles that give it the impression of being duplicated. One is solid matter, the other is the supraluminal particles decaying as they leave their normal "pan dimensional" realm. And for a brief second, there seems to be two ships.

    Isn’t lightspeed skipping dangerous?

    • @deathstrike
      @deathstrike 10 месяцев назад

      Impossible actually. If we examine canon, in the first Star Wars, Han Solo explained to Luke that jumping to light speed wasn't "like dusting crops boy" without precise jump coordinates, you could exit into a star or planet.
      So if we go by face value of what Han Solo said, and he was a damn good pilot, it would be impossible. Now the only way Poe could pull it off, is that if they have each planet and system preloaded into the Falcon's database and Poe is merely jumping "inside a system". And by the looks of the planets, they do seem to be either developed, or have some kind of outpost, hyperspace beacon, or some kind of locater to say "Here is what is on this planet". But for an open system to system jump? No, because they prefer to jump outside a system to avoid the planets and sun's gravity well, which is called a "mass shadow" they exist in hyperspace as well as real space and are hazards.
      But if you just want the short answer? These are the same bozos who wrote "The Holdo Maneuver" which used a hyper space jump to nearly destroy Snoke's SSD the Ascendancy.
