The music in TMNT2 for NES really carries the game. The graphics were good for NES standards but the music was off the charts and motivated you to keep playing.
Listening to this OST before playing Shredders Revenge on the Switch with my brother. It's like it's 1991 all over again and we are playing TMNT II on our NES!! ♥️
Heh, the game was pretty solid overall I think
@@GastNdorf I agree 110% but I heard a criticism that I also kind of agree with, most of the game is just redundant endurance with foot soldiers. Now that said, it's undeniable that the Famicom and NES soundtracks of near all games of the libraries of Nintendo, Konami (this one, Ultra was owned by Konami over getting around a 13 game limit production on FC/NES), Capcom and Sunsoft.
@@LoneWolf_Cub_Ogami_Itto It was a 5 game per year limit in the US, not 13 per company, so that is why Ultra was created.
@@GastNdorf Somewhat solid..for a beat 'em up, it was pretty damn good..but severely flawed combat in the game, against every single end-boss, and that really hurt the gameplay for me..but, if I had to grade this title, I'd give it a B-, maybe B at very best.. overall. Fun, as you said, "solid" game..nothing spectacular, outside of the music.
Easily one of the most underrated NES soundtracks. Each track is a killer
The original Arcade soundtrack is better. This is a port after all.
@@colliric I guess that's down to personal taste. To me the NES soundtrack sounds way better than the arcade one.
@@skofdo Yes..pretty much dead on. I agree..with the undeniable exception, however, of the final battle theme with Shredder..in that instance, pains me to say that the arcade version puts the NES' to utter shame.
Listen to the Blue Shadow soundtrack, that's a banger too
EDIT: just realized the game has several names depending on the region, Blue Shadow is the UE name, Shadow of the ninja is the US name, KAGE or Yami no Shingotonin KAGE in Asia/Japan
"Underrated" → "underappreciated". Fixed.
5:03 Sewers (one of the best tunes of all the NES)
6:40 Winter's Here (awesome)
13:07 Technodrome (awesome)
Elvis Robot Beta, Winter's here. The stage only available on NES. cause the arcade version after Sewers the stage continues to Parking Lot
I think you forgot about NES batman theme song
13:07 cool.
@@agentsmith5959
True. Another excellent tune!!!
@@mohammedbudi1046
Oh! Didn't knew that! Thanks!
The Technodrome theme is awesome!
Its fave too!
Look for club mix by nakamura
I got it for a ringtone.
The Technodrome sounds great in 8-bit
Limited run is pressing this on vinyl and I cannot wait. Also did the first games soundtrack. Get in on it fast to anyone interested.
pre-ordered both so far 😍
So cool to hear how the soundtrack writers kept repeating the Chuck Lorre motifs and musically keeping us aware that we're playing a TMNT game. The original TMNT game had a great soundtrack, but only went used the "Heroes In a Half Shell" Melody when you beat the levels. The Technodrome theme alone had a quote back to "Heroes In A Half-Shell" every 4 bars in A and B Sections. Kudos to the composers and arrangers keeping the original theme in mind.
bro, do you compose music?
I didn't realize how short the ost is.
It's so important to me. And it will always sound really great.
I remember how awe struck I was for the first time I played the technodrome stage and the music only added to my stun anymore, I used to play with Leonardo mostly.
This is 39min and 49sec's of pure brilliance.
IcedInsanity couldn't say it better myself
People think im strange for rocking out to these tunes, but they have no idea that not only am I enjoying this masterpiece but im also reminiscent about how amazing and innovative these games were before, the difficulty, the sprites, the power ups and secrets. It all comes back to my head as soon as I hear the first level ost
I enjoy listening to video game music myself straight off my phone. It’s awesome and it’s an escape from reality.
Who cares what those people think
As long as we enjoy it that's all that matters
3:39 is my favorite of this awesome soundtrack.
LET'S KICK SOME SHELL!!! 🐢🐢🐢🐢
Killer!!!
It’s an adaptation of one of the themes in the original coin game
The OST was one of the main things that kept me coming back to this game. Love it!
13:07 most badass stage music ever
Hell Yes Sir 🍻
Back when Konami was still the shit. Every time I saw that logo on a game cover I knew it was gonna be good. Now, not so much.. the end of an era.
I totally agree. Bland and boring capitalism has ruined the Japanese arm of the video game industry.
Loader2K1, how has capitalism ruined Japanese gaming companies? Konami scrapped Kojima's Silent Hills project (aka P.T.) after an EXTREMELY positive market reaction from the teaser demo. Scrapping something that you KNOW will sell, is the exact opposite of a capitalism. Konami is a joke now because they don't even have the sense to put out profitable shit that people want.
@SSPspaz: Capitalism is all about the bottom line, which is making money in the way said individuals want to make it. In a sense, you basically answered your own question.
Loader2K1, capitalism is about profitability. P.T. would've clearly been a very profitable game because of positive fan reaction. Konami kills the project and cuts ties with Kojima despite all of the great games he's created over the years. How is this poor judgement caused by capitalism when their actions are actually in stark contrast with what would be most profitable for the company? Poor management maybe, but blaming it on capitalism is ridiculous. Capitalism is what created the gaming industry in the first place lol.
Now if you were blaming capitalistic greed for EA's tendency to rush games to market prematurely, or for Ubisoft oversaturating the market with Assassin's Creed games, or Activision cranking out a new CoD every year - then you'd have a point.
i agree
06:40 / Winter's Here Best chiptune of all time
Roberth Castaño, Nes version only
I didn't know Joe Satriani had such a great album out. Lol, it just sounds like him 😂
That Shredder boss theme... When it kicks in as Shredder enters the room from Dimension X to fight you, you know it's everything or nothing. Fight or perish.
12:11 Shogun and 16:12 are my favorites. I loved this game back in the days, being like 7 years old, always playing with my best friend. Still listen to it.
@6:40 is the nes exclusive song I like
13:07 jeez this amount of nostalgia....
This music is so high quality music. I am too nostalgic man ... 15 years since I played them. Happy childhood.
The parking lot music at 7:58 was the best music on this game along with Shogun at 12:11.
Seven people forgot what cowabunga means! This is a five star soundtrack...great tracks! Turtle Power!!
The soundtracks for this and TMNT 4 were epic. Let’s hope that Shredder’s revenge can live up to this.
Dont forget TMNT 3 man
It will not. Remember, only John Williams, Nolan and Tarantino can produce non garbage stuff these days.
ruclips.net/video/9NHC36aOcH0/видео.html
@@Jucelegario if memory serves, the new game was made by Canadians, a studio in Montreal.
The OST for Shredder's Revenge absolutely lives up to the classic TMNT games.
Ahh.. Tears of nostalgia JOY.
My first game in the NES!
my too ;) love it
Well, guess what? IT'S BACK IN THE COWABUNGA COLLECTION!!
Nothing can beat the badass feeling of beating the living shit out of wave after wave of foot soldiers with 00:50 playing in the background...fucking priceless!
14:53 / Invincible Grang - This is the song I couldn't wait to hear.
This game has the best tunes! Every stage rocked. My favorite is technodrome!
Gotta love them Konami drums. Such a distinctive style of music.
best game music ever i need orchestra ver
Thank you. By posting this you have provided an inestimable service to humanity.
My earliest memory was playing this game with my father. Amazing memory.
Same for me! Good times.
Fire is of the rocking greatness
yea that ones a gem lol
8 bit goes hard at tmes ^^
14:53 Invincible Grang: This one still pops up in my head from time to time. :D
Sooo good. Played this with my cousin everyday after school back in THE DAY, our grandma banned us from playing it, lol good times
Banned you from playing this game specifically? Or all games? She thought you played it too much or it was too violent?
it could be she was religious i know my great grandma and great aunt had an ultra pissy fit whenever i was around ninja turtles cause it was evil lol then again this was the height of tutlemania
Back when Konami actually made great games.... THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO
90s, When i was children come back. Great memories.😔😔😌
Brought me back 20 years to the past back when I played it in the afternoon during weekends holy shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii*
The Technodrome music was always my favorite song to enjoy while endl'nuit.
Industrial District / Technodrome & Shredder Twins - I LOVE IT
I always remembered preferring the acrade version of this game both gameplay & music wise. With the exception of the snow stage (which didn't appear in arcades). I always loved the snow stage music, and thats what brought me here.
HOWEVER, this version of the soundtrack sounds different to those i have heard before. Now i am a fan of the NES (or whatever non-arcade) version of the soundtrack this is. Really sound neat, and has that old school chip-tune twang to it.
Thanks for the share :)
Gives me the goosebumps just hearing it love it.
Konami had such badass soundtracks like Contra and Supercontra. Makes you wanna pump up the volumen.
One of the best Konami NES soundtracks ever made.
Aged like fine wine. Despite being expressed through highly constrained sound hardware, these are shocking feats of music composition. They only get better with time.
The soundtrack of my childhood in 1990! The best era ever 80s into early 90s you can't beat that I tell ya!
Back in 2003 I had found a way to rip the soundtrack from games and burn the songs on a cd....this was the first game soundtrack I ever listened to in my car. Amazing times.
One of the best soundtracks on the NES. Full of ear-worm melodies and emotions.
Skate On! at 9:29 is absolutely epic
It’s my favorite in the game gets me pumped 😂
I'd wish this piece of music is playable for other action-adventure games or extreme sports games like Sonic Riders for instance.
every stage have a cool bgm. had played this game hundreds of time back then with my bros. I love shredder twins bgm!!
Back here to celebrate the release of TMNT Shredder's Revenge. Sewers, Winter's Here and Let's Head Up is so amazing.
7:49, after foot slicing through that orb the Polar Bear dressed as the Fonz had. 👌👌🐢 🍕
I'm here for my biannual listen. 2020 almost!
Thanks Konami composers!
0:11-0:55 are my favorites from this soundtrack. Also, 0:11 sounds like a great buildup to the first stage.
Gradius 2 !!!!😍😍😍
Thank you... thankyouthankyouthankyou!! I have had Winter's Here stuck in my head since I was a kid as my favourite level track. I have plans to turn it into a little metal track. So good!!
Que bueno hermano, gracias por subir esto... Viaje al pasado escuchando este soundtrack... Tardes enteras viciando y sin hacer la tarea jajaja. Abrazo gamers
Great job brother. It reminded me my childhood.
7:49: Spring's Here
2:21-2:22-2:23 / 2:31: Boss Battle
3:39 Pure Ninja Rockabilly!!!
I mean "fire" is cool, but when I played this game as a kid the song that stood out the most was "sewer". It took me a while to find this song
TheRobbery1313 Sewer is my favourite from this game!
TMNT, Ninja Gaiden & Gremlins! Mis soundtracks favoritos de NES 😍😍😍
This is so freaking awesome. First two scenes and shotgun being my favourites. Seriously around being the best things in the world my ears have ever heard. Who ever made/programmed these is my god. Thanks for the great upload!
*Shogun...
Wowsers! The difference between the "Normal" (Famicom Disk System(?)) tracks and the "No Effect Version" of the tracks is truly startling!
Nah, the no effects version removes the reverb grad1u52 adds to his videos
@@kaams224 I don't think so. You do know know that the NES sound chip (including EU/US) has a channel for samples which is used very rarely indeed, don't you? That's what it removes to the fullest possible extent. In the "Normal" version, Konami used it to its highest potential, as they tended to do in these days. In the "No Effects" version, however, this is, as I've said, _fully_ removed. It's _much_ more than just plain old reverb and/or echo.
@@kaams224 I would like to find the formula of the effect that grad1u53 puts on his videos, How can I do it?
06:40 and especially 12:11 are my absolute favorites on this one even though they were console-only exclusive stages.
B A B A UP DOWN B A LEFT RIGHT B A SELECT START
16 years ago and I still remeber this :D
Down, A. I hated when my sister did that and got donny before me
Un capitulo de mi infancia lleva este sound track!!!!
technodrome blows minds!!!!!😭😭😭😭
00:11 I can still feel the thrill!
Love this soundtrack!Awesome nostalgia! When i was a child , i played this nes game many times
It's a shame I could never get far enough in this game to hear the whole soundtrack.. good music on here 😂
Fire, my all time favorite!!!
6:33: Warning Incoming
Music of my childhood. Such bangers!!
"Choose your Turtle" theme is my favourite TMNT Theme of all time.
13:07 cuando realmente la música te hacía sentir épico 😎
Wow I love this soundtrack
esta musica cura mi depresion!!! ❤
God I LOVED this fucking game when I was a little kid. I was only 1 when it was released so I played it more around the mid 90s. My older cousins had an NES in their basement so the few times we'd be at their house on summer holidays, like 4th of July or whatever, we'd play it. I could never get past the first level. I now have a copy on a special NES/SNES console. I can get to level 2 now. yeah me. They also had Mario/Duck Hunt and Dr. Mario among other games. I bought a copy of Dr. Mario for my console. :D
+Stephen R I remember when the arcade version of this came out. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. Me and 3 other kids pumped quarters into it non stop and got to Krang, got past him and Shredder kicked our asses and we ran out of money and nobody else had any so we had to start over, SUCKED! Both the arcade version and this have great soundtracks
Adam Youdell I played the arcade version in my country. That was an awesome game, but as I remember never could play it with other 3 kids, just 1.
Omg i love all the music of this video game! Amazing thanks for upload it
Just the music 🎶alone makes u wanna play this game.
The boss theme kicks ass!
Fucking LOVE this game, even today I can still smash out hours of TMNT - probably due to the amazing sound graphics and tough gameplay loop! Awesome this is better than most recent games.
Also TMNT4 Turtles In Time is high rated glory gaming!
13:07 is the one that was in my head that brought me here
Tecnodrome is one of the best songs ever made by a game
🔥"Shredder twins" 🔥
The first video game I ever finished, I was probably like 7 at the time. I was a huge turtles fan, it was my first fandom as a kid. I wanted the toys, cartoons, comics, this game.. Really played this game quite a lot, I think overall this is my favourite 8 bit soundtrack.
Especially the Technodrome and Shredder themes are amazing, but the shogun and fire themes are pretty great too.
I remember being very proud of myself when finally finishing this game, lost to Shredder many times before finally beating him. It was rough trying to kill the real one, the clone kept getting in the way.
This was also my very first video game with real multiplayer, where both players played at once instead of in turns.
We didn't have many Nintendo games though. Just this one, Super Mario World 1 + Duck Hunt, Ducktales and Rainbow Islands.
Did know plenty of other kids with a Nintendo and other games though, we'd borrow each other's games now and then.
Ducktales also had a pretty great soundtrack. I remember Blue Shadow also having a very memorable soundtrack.
Capcom should be mentioned at this stage. Megaman both for NES but also SNES. It's just too good. Then Playstation's Resident Evil's.
It would be AWESOME!!! if 331Erock metalised this entire soundtrack.
Maybe I should try.
Excelente! Gracias.
The time signature changes on Sewers, wtf.
Can't shake the feeling that Sewers theme is missing a beat or even half a beat in the "verse" part
One of the best.
09:29 / Skate On! one of the best music ever created for a videogame
And they realised:
Chapter 13 Verse 07
13:07
The 8 bit won this one vs its bigger sound engine. But we can all agree that Konami was on their (um) game in music back then. Good jams!
ステージ5と8はおなじ音楽でしたね。12:11のステージ9の忍者屋敷みたいなステージは難易度が高かったです。ボスは耐久力は低かったですが、攻撃が結構激しかったです。
13:07 is the best. Period.
I like this better than the arcade version. The changed sewer song is great, the music for the new levels is great, many tracks are improved by being less noisy and more melodic.
I like how a lot of Konami music that's both on the NES and other platforms is about 20% faster on the NES.
Like Very good Nice video the best....
the best fucking Turtles game EVER.
Nah. That's TMNT IV Turtles In Time on the SNES.
Maxwell Payne Nope. TMNT III: Manhattan Project on NES is the best tmnt game ever!
Red Sky Team But it costs too much, and TMNT IV is the best 1 because it is the best arcade port.
Maxwell Payne Man. Who cares about game when it's worth it. TMNT IV best because it is good as port from original turtles in time? Lol. Where is your logic. There are too many shit stuff in "turtles in time" (just remember lights-shredder, poor in quantity sprites, slowpoke physics, bad quality of april picture in intro scene) to make it worse then tmnt III.
I dont remember any shit in "manhattan project". "Turtles in time" is good and funny game. Its better then first arcade game and NES port. But "Manhattan Project" sounds, music, gameplay, level design, characters, AI, story, rumor - everything is done perfectly in spite of the limitations of the NES (Famicom) platform.
Red Sky Team lol, your opinion is that TMNT IV is shit, and Manhattan is the best game ever? Obviously, because it costs so fucking much that makes it good.
