The music in TMNT2 for NES really carries the game. The graphics were good for NES standards but the music was off the charts and motivated you to keep playing.
Listening to this OST before playing Shredders Revenge on the Switch with my brother. It's like it's 1991 all over again and we are playing TMNT II on our NES!! ♥️
@@GastNdorf I agree 110% but I heard a criticism that I also kind of agree with, most of the game is just redundant endurance with foot soldiers. Now that said, it's undeniable that the Famicom and NES soundtracks of near all games of the libraries of Nintendo, Konami (this one, Ultra was owned by Konami over getting around a 13 game limit production on FC/NES), Capcom and Sunsoft.
@@GastNdorf Somewhat solid..for a beat 'em up, it was pretty damn good..but severely flawed combat in the game, against every single end-boss, and that really hurt the gameplay for me..but, if I had to grade this title, I'd give it a B-, maybe B at very best.. overall. So cool to hear how the soundtrack writers kept repeating the Chuck Lorre motifs and musically keeping us aware that we're playing a TMNT game. The original TMNT game had a great soundtrack, but only went used the "Heroes In a Half Shell" Melody when you beat the levels. The Technodrome theme alone had a quote back to "Heroes In A Half-Shell" every 4 bars in A and B Sections. Kudos to the composers and arrangers keeping the original theme in mind.
12:11 Shogun and 16:12 are my favorites. I loved this game back in the days, being like 7 years old, always playing with my best friend. Still listen to it.
Loader2K1, how has capitalism ruined Japanese gaming companies? Konami scrapped Kojima's Silent Hills project (aka P.T.) after an EXTREMELY positive market reaction from the teaser demo. Scrapping something that you KNOW will sell, is the exact opposite of a capitalism. Konami is a joke now because they don't even have the sense to put out profitable shit that people want.
@SSPspaz: Capitalism is all about the bottom line, which is making money in the way said individuals want to make it. In a sense, you basically answered your own question.
Loader2K1, capitalism is about profitability. P.T. would've clearly been a very profitable game because of positive fan reaction. Konami kills the project and cuts ties with Kojima despite all of the great games he's created over the years. How is this poor judgement caused by capitalism when their actions are actually in stark contrast with what would be most profitable for the company? Poor management maybe, but blaming it on capitalism is ridiculous. Capitalism is what created the gaming industry in the first place lol. Now if you were blaming capitalistic greed for EA's tendency to rush games to market prematurely, or for Ubisoft oversaturating the market with Assassin's Creed games, or Activision cranking out a new CoD every year - then you'd have a point.
People think im strange for rocking out to these tunes, but they have no idea that not only am I enjoying this masterpiece but im also reminiscent about how amazing and innovative these games were before, the difficulty, the sprites, the power ups and secrets.
