There's always a burr. There _has_ to be a burr. If there's no burr, there's no apex. I use lighter strokes on the diamond, then a couple of free hand passes on the rod to minimise it. The strop gets rid of what's left.
at my old job I charged 5 dollars to sharpen 8CR and those knives bought me several of those sharpeners. The course side is 320 grit and the fine side is 600 grit. then a couple of passes on the ceramic rod and then strop it.
Yep, great tool to keep 'em sharp and cutting! Under the plates are broadhead wrenches, too! I got to get one of those Milwaukee's! Happy Thanksgiving to ya, Steve
These sharpeners are great and the diamond plates are of higher quality than DMT. The Work Sharp is my go to sharpener when i don't want to use water stones. I have a second one i took the plates of and glued them together to have a real pocket stone.
Dude I understand what you're saying about the angle on the secondary grind and the main bar stock and everything I'm not sure how you said to measure it but you got the point across that it is different so I'll be able to figure out how to measure it but I understand what you're saying and you did get the point across so thank you
I got one a few years ago and it goes wherever I go. The best portable all ìn one sharpener I've used. You can sharpen just about anything with it. I don't really use the sharpening guides. I just keep whatever angle is on my blade. I hold it in my open palm to keep my figners out of the way. With diamond stones you ďon't have to use any pressure at all, the weight of the knife is usually sufficient to put an edge on your knife.
I have been looking at one of these for a while but the fixed angle has been the hold-up. I like a lower angle on my edc knives. I may still get one and see if I can 3d print guides with a different angle. Maybe even better would be to make a whole new unit using their diamond stones.
Okay, I just got one about a month ago, and it is a truly good sharpening. But when I shake it, there seems to be something inside it, some where? Any idea?
@@lancezebeau1035For $7 a piece I wouldn't care if they only lasted a year of light use or a month of heavy use, except I got to wait weeks to get 'em in the mail 😮💨
I don’t think you know that on RUclips you’re NOT supposed to use the knifes you post!!!….Jesus man! 😡 Well now I’ll be up all night to INSTAGRAM pocket jewelry so I can calm down..good day sir! 😠
Confusion achieved. Just swipe it on the stone until it gets better than dull. And put one end of the sharpener on the deck as the instructions suggest to avoid cutting yourself
If you place a piece of rope through the hole in the handle , it allows you to hold handle in thumb and index fingers and rope in palm. without putting your hand in the way while sharpening.

Yes sir, that Worksharp field sharpener is my favorite too!
I love it!
On the ceramic rod, if you look on the red knob you will notice letters, one for hooks, course and fine.

Awesome. Thanks
These are the best grab and go sharpeners you can get.
Agree. So easy and fast
Seen them at my local Walmart 20$

Thank you. And happy thanksgiving to you too
Great sharpener right there . The small ceramic rod is for serrations and such.

you really don't need a as much pressure as you're putting. Worksharp definitely nailed it with this sharpener though
Awesome man! Great content as usual.
Thank you
If you place a paracord lanyard on through the hole on the handle you can keep your hands out of the blade path and have a good purchase. Good video

Lol. That’s good. I don’t really plan out any of my videos. So sometime I wonder if I make any since at all lol

I picked one up a month or so ago and have been getting great results
It’s really a great tool
Got three of them and one is the limited edition dark spark ⚡️
Another good video
Thank you

Did you open it?
@@peterbiltknifeguy Yes, I finally figured out how to open it. I'm not very "Sharp" some days :)
Great. thanks for angle explained. I did wrong!!!
One you break em in your set on the diamond
The plates are replaceable. They do wear out.
How often do they last

Fish hooks
Bro got tilted tryna explain the angles
lol. I’m tilted but bro here is using “tryna” 😂
But… will it sharpen the Buck 124???😂

It’s a field sharper. Unless you carry a desk into the woods you need to hold it

Lol. Seemed like you frustrated explaining it to us like we arguing back about the angles. Like full on conversation with imaginary friend
It seems that way huh
😂
First learn sharpening !!!!!!!!!!!!!
