    Thanks so much! My problem was the idle power supply. I also tested at the four input piins, just to make sure the 160V was getting to the idle power supply, and tested the two output pins. Sure enough, 168V on each input pair, zero volts between the output pins. I went ahead and ordered your repair kit on Ebay, and I'm excited to put the TV back together on Monday when it gets here. Thanks again!

    This is good info. I have been trying to trouble shoot the driver. it was hitting 200V DC with no load but then dropping slowly back to 2V DC

    I have no power at all on the cold side. On hot side I've got 315V on pin 7/8 of the ic. Also on pin 1/4 of the transformer.
    I replaced the known a6069h ic, and the resistor r7900, checked the caps around it and the zener diodes Iam out of options. Maybe transformer broken? Dps-162kp-1

    • @coppelltvrepair
      @coppelltvrepair  15 дней назад

      Hardly the transformer. Not impossible, of course, but not likely and relatively easy to test. When transformers fail they do one of 2 things: short out (burned insulation on the copper wiring leading to short and wire shortening leading to lower resistance/higher current, which in turn lead to overload and burnout) or burn out break the circuit, which is established with a simple meter. Anything else, while always possible, is very unlikely.

    Bobby, COOLMOS 02N60C3 blew on a RUNTKA958WJQZ for rail #1 of 4 LED driver. Would a shorted LED segment 1 do this or maybe just a bad MOSFET? Its the small TO-252 next to larger one on rail 1.

    • @coppelltvrepair
      @coppelltvrepair  3 года назад

      I have not seen this transistor fail on those boards. Anything that could cause overload could trip an avalanche current and failure so yes, it is possible that a failed LED could cause the burn. It is also entirely possible that it has failed on its own and all LEDs could be good. Sorry if it doesn't help, but it is what it is...

    Hi, i have a sharp LC-60LE650U that stopped working when my house got struck by lightning a couple weeks ago. I tested the power board using your tips and determined that the board was bad. I got a replacement power board from eBay and installed it. I checked all the voltage again and everything seems to be the same as yours except that when i press the power button, i get 7.5V instead of 12V on pin 1. The TV still doesn't turn on but the LED at the bottom on the TV has a fast flash and a slow flash.
    I should mentioned that i didn't check the voltage output to the LEDs. Not sure what these should be reading. Im assuming that the power board i bought is oK since i get some lights but i get worried with the 7.5V. Could that be the main board?
    Please let me know what you think. I tried the reset sequence and i still don't get anything.

    So shorting pin 14 to 15 should turn on the board? Then you mention shorting to pin 16 with a momentary push button to power it up.
    So same board right now with power to the board i get 5.04 volts on pin 15 only.

    I just tried testing my board (APDP-153A1A) and I do not have any voltage output to the logic board... no standby 5v, no pnl_pwr voltage, nothing on any of those pins! Also, the two large capacitors are only reading 15v...nowhere near the 400v they should. Its safe to say my board is toast?

    Hi there, Thanks heaps for the effort. Quick question, I am not sure how you count the pins? I thought Pin 1 to 12 is when it's switched off and you count from pin 1 ( left) to right. While pin 13 to 24 are the same pins ( count left to right) when it's on.
    I didn't understand how you considered PIN8 ( from right) as the standby one. Could you please elaborate and explain as I have watched this 10 times, but can't understand how you count the pins ( example, you have considered 1 and 2 on pin 1, and 3 on pin 2???)

    • @coppelltvrepair
      @coppelltvrepair  6 лет назад

      George Edward K Pin number does not depend on whether board is on or off, of course. Order is determined by small digit prints on the board itself, usually giving you pins 1 and 2 at one end of the connector.
      Pin meanings are also printed on the board - most often by side of pins and sometimes - sharp boards are this way - on the side; Sharp lists pins for certain meaning and I think as part of the legend they also include connector number.

    Great video! One thing bothers me tough: why are your probe leads switched in the multimeter? It makes me uncomfortable :)

    • @coppelltvrepair
      @coppelltvrepair  6 лет назад

      Because at first I had the positive probe with a thin needle at the top. However checking many types of boards - e.g. plasma buffer boards or outputs of HDMI selector ICs on main boards - requires that the positive lead is set to GND and the test is made with the negative probe. Well if the positive is a needle that just kills it very fast, which is what happened. So I just flipped them and been going with those probes for at least three times as long by now :-)

    Hey i would love to get my board replace by you, but i also dont want to send you a working board. Can you answer a quick question? I have done all the testing as you show in the video above, but my pin 3 power seems to be a little light under that 13v, it is high 12v, the board says it should be 13.2v and you were also getting that 13.2v. Does this indicate that board is bad and in need of repair? when i jump the pin 16, i do get 12v on my pin 1. Let me know what you think, if you think it is bad and i should send it to you for repair.
