You can tell that there is alot of exhaust restriction. If this had a better exhaust manifold and someone optimized timing and fuel thus car would rip. You might even be able to safely change the pulley and overdrive the supercharger. I'd be suprised if this car has much more gains with fuel and timing table being factory defaults aseell as the factory low flowing manifold. There is more to making power than shoving air into the engine via turbo or supercharged. The fuel and timing have to be able to account for positive boost pressure and the exhaust have to be able to expell it. Some of these newer engines like in my 04 avalon XLS have Variable valve timing to advance the timing at a set RPM. I'd have to look into it but there is probably a way to lock the cams on the advance lobes with higher lift and duration. With the right stuff this engine us capable of alot of power.

I has just enough power when you need it but id love the v6 version if i could switch i would. Im made it like a really comfortable daily driver and its at 212k and it runs like a clock even when i use the overdrive when it gets really hot the car runs BETTER! best car ever dude just stay on the maintenance.
It’s a long strider not a sprinter. Mostly due to the 4 speed auto with slow shifts and longish gearing. Give it room and it does go pretty good. Kinda reminds me of the old Jaguar XJS V12 with the 3 or 4 speed automatics. Slow off the line but they pull once up to speed. 5 speed swap would make it pretty quick.
Reminds me of my I35. The 4 speed auto makes it a marathon runner rather than a sprinter for sure. I’ll tell ya, 4 speed auto paired with a VQ just ain’t it.

i have the same year camry with the V6, Been trying to mod it (starting with an egr delete) but havent been successful as it always throws codes and goes into limp mode. how did you get passed the egr with a cold air intake? if im having issues just blocking it im wondering how you managed to bypass a lot of it and put in a cold air intake. any advice helps a ton, thanks!

I'm surprised you said that, cause that's a true statement I've been saying the same thing for years. Ricers drive Honda's and try to race with everybody on the streets, whereas Toyota enthusiasts actually build their cars and race them at a track not so much on the streets.
V6 engines never came with a Manual Transmission. You could buy a V6 Camry and figure out what Manual Transmission would bolt on to the engine, then do a Manual Conversion. Get rid of the Automatic shifter and pedals, swap out the Automatic instrument cluster with a Manual one. You'll need both ECU and TCU mutuals then you're set.
Sorry to reply 2 years late but V6 Camry's did indeed come from the factory with 5 speed manual transmissions until 2001. From 2002 to 2009, maybe 10-11, not sure, a 4 cylinder could be equipped with a manual as well.
